In case you missed it, my phone was stolen in Buenos Aires (th-cam.com/video/0aC-qlUncyQ/w-d-xo.html). This is my honest opinion about what it's like to exist in Buenos Aires without a phone for an entire month. Could you do it?

Am I just lucky I lived in Buenos Aires Argentina for nearly 10 years and have been traveling back and forth for years. As a matter of fact am in Buenos Aires for a four month visit now and I have never had a problem with any crimes whatsoever but once I lost my telephone ☎️ and for two months I didn't have a telephone but I to also survived but I have a very simple lifestyle so it was not that difficult for me at the time there were places all over Buenos Aires where you could use telephones and computers for a small fee.

@@markrush2319 Hi Mark. I'm really happy that nothing like that has ever happened to you. It's really shocking and scary when it does. There used to be telefonicas and places where it was easy to use the phone, but now the world has changed so much and the reliance on cell phones has increased drastically. I think it's possible (as I showed) to get around the city without one, but definitely not ideal. It makes you feel pretty isolated.

but.... you made it! Maybe buy a supercheap phone at home as a "back up phone" to have, just in case 😛

It's a bit sad how connected we are now. I travelled around the world by myself in 2007 without a phone and it was fine. Now I think I'd be lost without it!

Totally agree! I traveled without a phone from 2003 to 2013 without a phone! In the early days just relied on internet cafes and notebooks. But now that I rely on one, I don't want to live without it!

I hope you can take some good lessons from your no-phone era. For example, sometimes I put my phone on charge while working on the computer for a full hour. Really helps you get a lot more done!

I travel throughout South America in 1970. There weren't even guide books and even the locals did not know what was on the other side of the mountains.
