I have the same bike and just put a new rear tire on. Wish I would have watched your video first. Next time I will use some of your ideas.
I have a flat jack also and used it much the same as you did. I did loosen the castle nut a bit to get the cotter pin in.
I think I will re-torque that to be safe. I also moved the belt tensioner bolts. Wish I wouldn't have now. I did measure both sides. Haven't rode the bike yet since I finished that job. We'll see how it rides. Question: Where did you get the chrome covers for passenger foot boards ?

Thx for the zip tie tip. I struggled the first time with the caliper bracket. It work like a charm

    Good Video!
Never replaced my own tire... thankfully have a guy that mounts/balances and installs for $50 last year... hopefully he still likes me.. 😆 typically getting 20k out of the Michelin Commander 2s... trying the 3s in about 5k miles.... been running the Bridgestone H50 on front... may try it on rear next year... im guessing you're getting about 15k with the American??

I get whatever milage I get in 12 months😁. Just over 16k this year I could have gotten several thousand more. But i would rather change them in February than risk any downtime during ohio riding season

    Mark.
Awesome. Thanks for the info. Extremely informative. I had the shop do my tires previous times, and I Paid for it, but not anymore. First time, just over an hour each off and on. took my time and had your video running. Again thank you.

Excellent job. Very informative. I've had the honor of changing about 12 -15 rear tires. (my own and a couple friends). My process is very, very close to yours. I really like your flat jack - I used a floor jack. I may have to find me one of them. I add just a whisp of grease on the axel before I reinstall it. While I don't remember you mentioning it the zip tie around the brake bracket is a must. (Later I see you had it in there.). On the shocks - what I found is that by sliding the top and bottom on the studs at the same time made it easier for me. Only last comment - Watch the torque on those trim and saddlebag bolts. As tight as you were Uga-Dugging on the trim bolt I'll bet you smushed the plastic washer. You mentioned Thread Locker (Loctite). Never Ever use Loctite near or on plastic. It will make the plastic brittle and prone to breaking.

Great video. I have the same bike and was having problems with replacing the spacers. The seal on the belt side of the drive had come out, preventing the spacer to be recessed. Only discovered this after many attempts to fit the spacers. A few swear words later, managed to push seal back in and fit spacer. Only for your video I would not have seen the problem.

Hello from Ohio. I have a question, but it's not a tire question. I'm currently bike shopping to replace my Honda ST1300 that I really liked. I have been looking at the voyager for a few months now. Woukd you recommend the voyager for a rider who does a lot of cross country riding. Have you had any mechanical issues. Thanks

Apologies for the late response. I don't visit TH-cam very often. I put 13k to 16k per year on my voyager and it has been a great bike (for the price). I always include that caveat because the more expensive bikes, HD, Indian, and the gold wing have some obvious advantages for double the price. Have you Made a decision yet? I would be happy to talk in depth if you have not. I love helping out the Voyager community and talking bikes.

Will a 18” rim and tire fit on the rear of a voyager?

I do not beleive there is a suitable wheel with the correct mating pattern for the pulley,
