I bought a 2013 E250 AMG seven months ago. I've only driven it for about 4k Miles but it still puts a silly grin on my face every time I drive it. I'm 75 and my wife is 70 so getting in and out is not elegant - but boy is it worth it.
I just bought a black e350 coupe 2 days ago! Super excited about it and can’t wait to drive it. The interior is designed flawlessly, and the drive is so fun. Love this car
I bought a mint condition 2015 E400 coupe a year ago and couldn’t believe the value I got for my money! Only had 56k miles (USA) when I purchased it. Went ahead and resealed the cam covers, changed the spark plugs, and had to replace the aux battery in the trunk. Gave it a paint correction too. Beautiful car! Been a blast to drive and so solid. Love this car and feel like it will last many more years to come.
That's awesome. We didn't get a lot of E 400s in our market, especially not this generation of the Coupe. Most units in Malaysia were the E 200 and E 250
Thank you for this video and correct clarification of this model. We had the privilege of owning a C207 from 24K miles to 271K miles ! The M272 motor was flawless and the chassis was as tight as a drum. We now have C238 with bi turbo M276 , a very wide and spacious platform.
I own a 2016 E400 coupe with the 3.0 tt V6. Purchased a year ago with only 30,000km on it. I could not believe the good used value these cars deliver. They are the perfect era of modern Mercedes bringing together just the right amount of tech, and the c207 is the right size car as well. Can't go wrong with that pillarless design, and have proven to be quite a reliable platform. Also agree the w204 and w212 models are really the way to go in the used Mercedes market at the moment. Great video discussion.
I’ve had my 2009 90k miles E350 CGI coupe for a little over a year and really like it. My previous car was a 2017 20k miles Alfa Giulia Veloce and it’s quite a credit to the old Mercedes that I don’t miss the Alfa at all!
I was getting married 😂. The Merc ticked the boxes of being a bit different (love the pillarless windows), still reasonably quick, not too big but with usable rear seats and (with the type of driving I do) capable of around 30 uk mpg. And just over half the price 😂. The Merc, despite being much older, has a nice quality feel about it.
i own a 2011 a207 which is the cabrio model e250. this car is built on the 204 c class platform instead of the 212. mercedes ditch the clk bdge and reintroduce the e badge coupe since the 124.good handling but drivetrain hates being rushed.. its a nice cruiser..timing chains , cam phasers and leaks in the cooling system are common issues..interior plastic tends to break on their own due to age.
I just picked up a 2016 e400(amg pkg) coupe! I am absolutely loving the ride and power of this car. Coming from hot hatches and smaller 4cycl turbo cars its a change to say the least, its so smooth on the power. Honestly though what is crazy is it handles nearly just as well on the backroads, maybe more so bc i have the amg/sport pkgs which lowered the car 15mm and has a bit firmer suspension...i can absolutely feel it getting firmer in Sport mode. Veeery solid feeling chassis, even without b pillar it feels like a really rigid/tight car. The power of the 3.0 twin-turbo is really all ever need on the street(and with a tune puts you in 400whp/sub 4 sec 0-60 territory < i could careless im not in my 20s anymore im just putting numbers for reference). I have the 4matic and i gotta say launching the car is extremely fun bc it just grips every time, very easy to rocket off from stop lights. Even more so from a roll, engage the full throttle pedal button (Mercedes drivers will know what i mean) & you better be holding on. Literally has the power of a v8 but the gas mileage closer to a 4cyclinder (ive been getting just shy of 25mpg combined), very nice throaty induction noise (intakes add even more turbo sounds). Everything is done elegant and smoothly. Meaning things like the "intelligent headlights" that change direction towards your turn and automatically turn on/off your hi-beams, are all smoothly implemented. The haptic vibrations in the steering wheel upon the car touching road lanes is juuuust enough feedback to make you aware and not be annoying. Leave it up to Mercedes to figure out how you can be driving on the interstate doing 75+ with the panoramic wide open, and yet its not really even all that loud lol. It took for me actually having to look up and notice "I forgot i left it open" while driving one night, lmfao. Very nice car indeed. Mine is in the "designo white metallic" color, and i got to say it looks so damn nice with the black tint and trim pieces like the mirrors. I was fortunate and lucky enough to have the place i bought the car from actually offer to take the amg wheels (5-star alloys that came w/amg sport trim pkg) and re-finish them for me. Not only did they offer to re-finish, but they also added a greyish metallic powder coat (just to the inside of the wheels) a very nice light touch...its looks oem and very clean. It really is a great daily all around car and they are actually very rare to see them atleast by where i live.
thank you so much for the review. Actually I am looking to get an E class sedan probably in next few years, but I am still wondering whether if I should find for the facelift version with the 2 litre engine as that engine is being used for much more years and some reading online saying that the 2 litre is the better engine that fixed most of the problems from this 1.8 CGI. In terms of look, I prefer the pre facelift E250 actually.
The 2.0 is newer, but generally I have found the 1.8 CGI to be smoother, more refined when revved, and pulls crisper too. All things equal, my preference is the 1.8 CGI
It's an okay car, but for this generation, the 5 Series is a better buy. And since you're okay with 3.0-litre road tax, consider the twin turbo 740Li too
Have 550, love this car. C238 is a bit too polite for me. Of course, the successor is great and beautiful car, but for me even the AMG version lacks of a bit aggression and wildness. But, as I said, both C207 and C238 are great😊
I own the Cabriolet A207, which is a great car. But I think you got the BMW comparison wrong. The 207 is a mix of E- and C- Class, so for BMW it would be a mix of 3 and 5 series, which is the 4 series - not the 6.
@@KonWaiLuen i beg to defer. not many in my area (mk, sri hartamas, segambut, kepong, kl city). yes u are right, its not about volume, that's why merc stop producing as it wasn't making enough returns

Buying a 2014 tomorrow
Bought a 2011 and been so happy with it I decided to give it a gift, 2014 facelift ! Now the car is just that much more awesome
As in you facelifted the car yourself? Panels are slightly different though!
One of the most beautiful coupes that never gets old
I like the C238 better, but yes, this is handsome too, and has better handling
Indeed

Thanks for sharing your experience too. I like the C238 more, but the C207's chassis is more satisfying to exploit.

I do feel the C238 E Coupe has more grandeur, but the 204, 207, and 212 platforms really exude a solidness that other recent Mercs don't have.

Kon, please do a video on the 730Li from 2008-2015.
Also, what’s your thoughts on it?
It's an okay car, but for this generation, the 5 Series is a better buy. And since you're okay with 3.0-litre road tax, consider the twin turbo 740Li too

On point review. I have exactly this car as on the video. Thank you for making me understand my car
I own a 2010 E550 coupe with every option including radar cruise. So solid even compared to my 2022 GLC300.
wow, awesome. I have not seen an E 550 in Malaysia, as our Government imposes very high road tax on big engines.
Great explanation, Kon. However, I just kept noticing that side window stain 😅 blame my OCDness.
Haha.... had this car on a tight schedule. That part was shot before the team washed and polished the car

6:19 you must be forget about Audi A5,S5 and RS5 Coupe that was launch in year of 2008.
I do remember them, but I consider them in the 4 Series/C-Class range.
Notice that Mercedes has the c class coupe in this era, meaning that mercedes uses the c class platform for both c class coupe and e class coupe?
Yes, the C-Class Coupe was launched only after the facelift, meaning the product concept was created much later in the model cycle.
how many e class coupe u see on the road? means not many buyers.. w205 cornering is also good

You are definitely wrong in saying that Mercedes is not making the E Class Coupe anymore. The 2024 E Class model has a Coupe version.
It's the CLE, which is basically a return of the CLK.

Stop it. The damn e is silent. Coupe = coop. You say coop ay
No, it's not silent, it's a french word with the accent on e, but british people and americans pronounce it coop.
