Hi Adam! I'm an English teacher and you are my favourite English teacher! I've been recommending your videos to all my students. You've been helping us a lot! Thanks!
I've been watching many lessons of yours. They're almost helpful, indeed. I love your voice and the way you simplify the difficulties in learning English. Nice work!!! I'd love to see and talk to you in person.
I'm learning more english with a native teacher than brazilian teachers. I think it because seeing videos in english makes you forced your mind to learn. Thank you Adam!
Thanks so much Adam, your explanations are very clear and helpful. Can you tell me if th e expression: "It's pouring cats and dogs" is always used by British people?
Thanks for teaching me these stuff! I will take out my anti-English behaviour and take in phrasal verbs into my life. English shall take over my mind and with any troubles, I’ll take it up to my english teacher. I take class all that I have said about English being hard and boring and I’ll try to take after you, Adam, to be good in English! I am sure my English ability will take off by watching more of your videos!:)
Allen Lee Hi Allen. Well, I think it would, at least for me. And I'm not native. But OK, it'd be nice if he wrote them on the board as well. For me, the most important was the examples he gave as explanations.

Regarding the "Take on" There's that very famous song named "Take on me", and the next verse is "take me on", do both those sentences mean "confront me"? This is a genuine question.
Renan Colombini Renan, you're talking about the A-ha's great song, right? I think the meaning in the song is more like "take me in", as the teacher has shown. He says "take on me" as if it was "take me with you, cause I love you". My opinion, OK?
+KuDo Shieji No big deal but, for your information, what you call "two-word verbs" are called "phrasal verbs". They can be very challenging to learn, among other things. All the best to you in your "learning journey", as they say! :)
Ariful Haque hi. it is my pleasure to help you some. on my opinion, "compare to" sth, " compare with" sb ex: compared with him, i am a quite patient person vs: compared to the place i grew up, this town is exciting Hope i am right - source : Oxford learner dictionary
+nguyen mai huong Thanks for your help ! But I can't see any difference between those "to" and "with". I think neither of them changes the meaning of each other.
Highly recommend EngVid, especially Adam, to my students who learn English. Personally, I watched a lot of videos when preparing to take EIT (ZNO) tests in Ukraine.
It's a local reference. We suppose that the Paradise City is located at the south of your geographical position. So they take me down to the Paradise City or take me down to Monterrey, cause both cities are located in the south.
Same Thing happens when talking about the North with the word "up". Like "I'm shipping up to Boston" by Dropkick Murphys. Cause Boston is located at the North of the Usa.
Pretty weird actually, cause it's used for apprentices or pupils, like you teach a profession to someone and one day he/she will be ready and good enough to do on his/her own.
"I'm taking my dog under my wing?" sorry that's wrong sentence. .You can say "I'm taking my dog for a swim". You can also say " I'm taking Mrs. Smith workers under my wing"- that means "I am taking Mrs. Smith workers under my supervision" = that means I am responsible to Mrs. Smith workers.".
