The pool was nice but this place pushed the definition of "resort". Notice how some of these rooms have a view of another defunct casino, the Showboat. What a painful second death Atlantic City has been having.

I stayed 1 year at the taj 1 year for my birthday (under 21) & I had the time of my life. Had 1 of those suites with a balcony Moroccan themed mirror on ceiling living room swing sofa 2 bathrooms jacuzzi in room & at 12 I had chocolate covered strawberries flowers and champagne surprised me by my parents through room service .. at that moment I wanted to own a hotel and casino. All politics aside say what you want about trump that hotel was beautiful!! This breaks my heart no1 compares

I still love ac and I'll be there when hard rock reopens my favorite place. I just loved the Taj. And I only stayed in the Taj tower never chairman tower. Just about the time I had the opportunity it was near the end and didn't get a chance to go. I hope hard rock does the place justice. The facade to me was never the draw. It was the size of the place and the views from the high floors.

I can stay at the Homewood Suites in Sudbury, Canada for about $150.00 per night for something that is finished to a much higher standard. Very plain, basic cookie cutter finishes and appliances, especially the heat/ac units. What we would refer to as “builder quality” in subdivision homes.
I once saw 'The Donald' land his helo, on the roof of The Taj . . . as a guest, next door . . . as a registered hotel guest, at the Showboat Hotel/Casino. Both closed, first Showboat, then the Taj ! 🇺🇸
I worked at Showboat 22 years and every time I had a chance to be on the roof/pooldeck I would shoot that helicopter the bird! many times double barrelled LOLING! I was one of the last out of Showboat and one of the very last out of the Taj!
My wife got her purse lifted from the shelf of a craps table here one night. She never got it back, luckily there wasn't much dough in it. Trump was walking by me and I never had the balls to ask him to help us out. I never could have imagined that one day he'd be the President of the United States! This was around 1990. At that time they had at least 30 craps tables I'm guessing. I'll never forget the All You Can Eat King Crab legs for $19.99. Thanks for the memories Donald.

Also having been only an online player to that point WSOP main event were only images I had of a live tournament so when I got knocked out in like the 4th level I went around to shake the whole tables hand hahah because I thought thats what you are supposed to do
I was there in '07 playing slots and I got so drunk off cranberry and vodkas I snuck into the lounge bar and passed out in a booth. Security woke me up a while later and kicked me out .. lmao Good times ! I still have a few chips from there !

I went to the sale I got items from the 38th floor. You could turn the ac on and yes the toilets flushed I used one in a suite. Ya got to ya got to go. The toilets are huge old water guzzle I saw one in black maroon and white if they would of let me take one I would have taken one. I doubt if they keep them in the remodel.

Hard Rock is very nice but if I was master planning AC Id rezone much beach frontage replacing the old casinos for gated townhouses like towns to the north and south. This would bring more year round life to the place, create more security and generally improve the area in the long run.
