  • I decided to bring my camera along on one of my weekly service trips. I have been building and servicing CNC machines for almost 10 years under various major OEM brands such as United Grinding, MAUS, and Schutte. Tag along as I rebuild this machine after changing out the linear rails on the X-axis of this grinding machine, and be sure to like and subscribe for the next Machine Repair Episode!!

Working on my truck is what keeps me away from fixing my CNC machines ;)

You can show us how new fresh pair of linear rails are installed onto a CNC and properly aligned to microns? No videos on this that explains in detail, some videos on youtube like few mins with no explanation.

How do you like this line of work? I'm considering getting into it after 9 years in industrial manufacturing and robotics repair

It keeps a man busy that is for certain, ive been rebuilding precision cnc grinding machines for about 10 years as well as national/international service and it has taken me to some crazy places that one would not normally venture to. Now i have a wife and kids so it has its challenges, but when i was younger it was great to not be tied down doing the same monotonous work over and over and over. I still find joy in the freedom that comes with being a field service engineer, i dictate alot of my own schedule, and how things will be done and when. So, if youve got tough skin and dont get very home sick, it is the ultimate career for adventure and learning, and typcially experienced FSEs will make 100k+ with over time included depending on which company you work for. But most places have extra incentives as well being that it has hard to find someone that is willing to be gone 48 weeks out of the year in some cases. Hope this helps ya!

Thank you very much and thanks for watching! I am working on that, my go pro is a waterproof unit thus the muffled noise, I have this problem in all of my recent videos unfortunately.
