This video was super helpful! I recently learned how poorly the cosmetics industry regulates itself regarding asbestos contamination in talc. No amount of exposure to asbestos can be considered safe,.so I have been switching (especially my face products) to talc-free alternatives. Menagerie Cosmetics and Sydney Grace have talc-free colorful eyeshadows and I can't wait to try!!

this was super helpful!!!!! ever since hearing it could be linked to cancer, better safe than sorry especially if you're going to be using it your whole life. might as well start now! I was on the lookout for talc free makeup. but in my search I've realized I should've paid more attention to what I was putting on my face on the daily. it was a good wakeup call for me, not just for talc-free products but for cleaner, more green makeup products. thank you for this!

Thank you girls so much for making this video!
I have had some really bad allergic reactions over the past few yrs and have been trying so hard to narrow it down to what I think might be the culprit! I never used to have any problems with any kind of makeup at all until a few yrs ago. It’s always around my eyes or anywhere I’ve used concealer and powder! The skin around my eyes will start itching and then my eyes will swell and then sometimes will get kind of dry or crusty/ flaky on the skin in the affected areas! I’ve actually gone this past yr without makeup! I just turned 55 and definitely look way better with makeup than without. Lol! I recently wore makeup again a couple weeks ago to our youngest son and his wife’s gender reveal party, and wound up with my eyes itching that night and by the next morning my eyes were almost swollen shut! I had to take Benadryl for days and put an antihistamine cream on the affected areas for days before they were completely back to normal!
I have very dark under eye circles (I’ve had most of my life bc I’m Caucasian with an olive undertone and get dark in the summer) So concealers and correctors are a must for me.
I’ve also recently discovered just how many concealers actually have talc in the ingredient list! So I’ve been on a search for a really good moisturizing concealer, that also has good dark circle coverage that didn’t have talc in it. If you have any good suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated!
I have recently been going over all the products that I can remember, that have given me this kind of reaction, and have been highly wondering if talc was a culprit, bc not only did the concealers I’ve used have talc in them, but the powders also!
I’ve also wondered if it could be titanium dioxide or iron oxide bc I know I’m allergic to nickel. I can’t wear any jewelry or metal buttons or snaps with it bc it breaks me out in an awful rash and that has even wept before. So I stay away from anything that can contain nickel or derivatives of it. It’s just all so confusing in cosmetics and skin care ingredients these days, to know what might or might not cause an allergic reaction. I have normal to dry skin and I think maybe I’ve gone through menopause a few yrs ago. I’ve had a partial hysterectomy so only a test can confirm if I’ve gone through it or not bc I’ve luckily had no severe symptoms except some weight gain around my mid sec. Unfortunately, lol! But now my skin reacts differently to things than it used to,and that makes me think that maybe me going through menopause has made my skin act totally different which would coincide with when I started to have reactions to makeup that I’d never had before.
Did you get an actual skin test to determine that you were allergic to talc? And what kind of reaction did you have from it if you don’t mind me asking?
I just stumbled upon your videos this evening while looking up talc free products. I know I’m probably quite a bit older than both of you, but you saying your skin is on the drier side and that talc give you an allergic reaction, made me want to watch your guys’ videos! You both are gorgeous! Our youngest son’s wife is a fraternal twin and we love both girls as if they were our daughters and like you two, they finish each other’s rights and sentences, and they are so fun to be around! Lol!
Thank you both again for taking the time to make the informative videos about cosmetics and skin care!
    God bless you both!😊

Thanks so much for this! After watching a documentary about how most all talc contains asbestos (there's literally no way to remove the asbestos from the talc......even "asbestos free talc") I'm like ummm......yeah, heck no. No talc, ever again.

I can't believe you two didn't mention Ilia Radiant Translucent Powder! This is my favorite talc free powder. It is finely milled and I use it for my T-zone and it so light. I stay away from talc for 2 reasons - I tend to use mostly green beauty products and talc can be irritating. I once got my talc powder in my eyes and my eye was irritated for 5 days. I figured that if I had that kind of reaction to talc, that I would try and stay away from it in my makeup products. Another great video. Thanks.

Thank you so much! I've been moving away from talc because I found out that products with talc as the main ingredient were causing me to break out all over my face. I get so much less acne now that I've stopped using products with talc in them (:

I am allergic to talc also. Hard to find products that don't have this in it. If the brands would pay attention they could switch out the talc with corn starch, like other companies have.

Be wary of eyeshadow primers as well, especially if you have a talc allergy , while trying to find cleaner beauty products I’ve realized that almost all eyeshadow primers have talc.
Urban Decay’s primer potion was my holy grail. I also really liked the Milani primer as a more affordable option.
I have no idea what I’m supposed to use instead. 😢
