If you have Ford Fusion and you have a misfire that you cannot fix by replacing ignition coils and spark plugs we will explain what could cause the misfire. This is a common problem on some Ford Cars. They will develop a misfire on 1 or more cylinders and you may not even get engine light on (sometimes engine light will be on). The misfire is sometimes caused by a burnt ignition driver in the car engine computer / ECU.

My car has no codes, has a slight miss at idle, and under heavy load. At cruse there is no issue. The car misfires badly at WOT and acts like limp home mode at WOT. As soon as I bace off the pedal everything is normal. No codes are being thrown.
Today I'm installing all new coils and plugs hoping for the best.

3 years late but did you get the misfire later on ?
@@marcelomendez8381 one of the COPs were bad and the plugs were heavily coated in oil. 09 A4 2.0 Quattro, after the installation the car drove fine. She drinks about a half qt of oil a week though lol

I have a 2012 fusion sport. I’ve replaced injectors, spark plugs, coils, cam sensors with a misfire on cylinder 2,4,5 random misfire code, & system running too rich. Would that be my PCM as well?

Coolant intrusion issue and it will get worse until you get it fixed which is very expensive. Its not your PCM,Coils,or the plugs I guarantee you that. I have a 2015 Fusion with the 2.5l engine. Misfire on cylinder 3 and replaced the ignition coils all 4,Plugs all 4, and injectors all 4 and still getting misfires periodically. Are there any known issues with the PCM on the 2015 model years?
I have. A 2018 and already replaced cylinder 2 ignition coil 3 times and eventually comes over again
@@juananguiano21607 That can be a sign of a cracked cylinder head which is what happened to mine a 2015 with the 2.5l engine. It can also be a symptom of coolant intrusion if its an Eco-Boost engine. Coil Packs do not die that fast so you really need to take a borescope and go down and have a look at the piston and walls. If the Piston is really clean with little carbon you have a cracked head or the intrusion issue that is widespread on these cars. After getting mine fixed I traded it in on a 2020 Camry SE and man am I glad I did. They have had them break again after being repaired. Its a known design flaw and they have re-designed it on late models. I think there is an extended warranty as well something to look into. I hope yours is not that serious, but the symptoms are the 2 and 3 cylinders mis-firing.
My 01 crown vic is running bad and the auto parts plug in device showed a misfire on no 2 cylinder....I went ahead and bought a set of new coils and plugs..didn't change a thing so I checked the injector and it's good to...until I watched this video, I would not have thought the PCM would be the problem...I'm old school trained and at the point where I think I need to take it to a mechanic...my truck project is almost ready for the road and I need to park the car until I can save up some money...maybe that $1200 kung flu virus check will get here soon

Where did you send the pcm to get it fixed? I'm experiencing the same issue on my 2016 Ford Fusion (I replaced spark plugs and swapped ignition coils with no solution).

Have a 2016 fusion as well with problems. Misfires come and go. Codes pulled p0351 and such from the other cylinders.
Ended up being a crack in the cylinder 4. Coolant was leaking into the cylinder. I found out it wasn't uncommon Unfortunately
I have a 2014 Yukon XL 5.3 with a misfire on the 7th cylinder. I replaced all the spark plugs and the spark plug wire and only the 7th cylinder coil. I can drive the vehicle for a day and it will start misfiring again on the 7th cylinder. I removed the 7th cylinder spark plug and noticed there was oil on the spark plug. So then I went old school and put a nonfouler on and another spark plug and after a while of driving I would get another misfire on the 7th cylinder. Will you tell me what you think is wrong with the 7th cylinder and where you think the oil is coming from and what I can do to fix it?

PCM's rarely fail on these engines, Misfires are a symptom of a common problem these engines have. Coolant intrusion design flaw or a cracked head.
CAN ANYONE ANSWER THIS QUESTION ABOUT MY CAR. I HAVE A 2007 FORD EDGE, THE COMPUTER SHOWED A MIS FIRE, SO I CHANGED PLUGS, STARTED IT UP, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, THE COMPUTER SHOWED CYLINDER 4 COIL FAULTY, SO WE PUT A NEW COIL IN IT, TOOK IT 3 MILES ON A TEST RUN, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND NOW ITS SAYING CYLINDER 5 COIL?

Yes I did it actually jumped time so I reset all 4 cams when I changed the timing chains
