Essential workers aside, who would drive in this mess? Folks need to stay home for Christ sake. All of those trucks should be parked somewhere until everything subsides. Insane.
The issue is mostly caused by employers... they demand ppl to show up else they get fired and others dont get paid if they dont show up. Both versions come down to the same thing that ppl cant afford to miss any pay day because it would mean they cant pay all the bills and have money left for food/gas. And you also have the standard idiots that will think its all overexaggerated...
I agree but 75 is a north south highway going through 6 states. It starts in Michigan and goes to Florida. I bet a lot of these cars and trucks were out of towners or essential workers.
Wrong tires people, all season don’t work on anything more than a couple of inches if that. Please stay home if u dont have proper snow tires or it’s icy period
True. The problem here is that they get so little snow that snow tires wouldn't make sense for most of them. They should either not go out or stay put where they are when it snows.
This can happen as it is winter you know. We always prepare in the fall every year just in case. People should stay off the roads for nonessential jobs and such. If the 'boss' has a problem with this tell him or her to pick you up on the way in. You won't be picked up because he or she has no intention of going in. I did this everytime.
I live in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and we got maybe one inch (2.5 CM). We're in the north at Lake Erie, so we get lots of "lake effect" snow storms. Cincinnati is at the other end of the State at the border with Kentucky. They get very little snow compared to us.
Plenty of places around Cincinnati that got a foot or close to it. These early highway scenes are within the city limits, some of those close to where I live, and we did get 10 to 12 in.
You really gotta tip your hat to the cops, firemen, tow truck drivers, roadside assistance, and the plows. We get to choose to take a sick day and not drive in these conditions. They don’t….
Im not the person that made this video but my guess is he has winter tires on his pickup and 4 wheel drive. A real actual winter tire makes all the difference in the world. The cars on the side spinning most likely just have an all season tire with hard rubber compound . A winter tire is a softer rubber with specific grooves cut in them so the rubber can flex ,therefore provide traction on snow and ice. I have winter tires on their own set of rims and just swap out my rims and tire for the winter months and then pit my original rims and tires back on in spring. You would be surprised at just how much better the traction is even on ice. My driveway is a half mile long and stepp at the end , it can be a solid sheet of ice at the end and I can stop on it and then pull out without even spinning my tires in a front wheel drive car. The combination of winter tires , traction control on a newer car you can virtually go anywhere under all kinds of conditions with no problem. Some extra weight in the car also helps. A light vehicle will do poorly in deeper snow
@@mikewasko4964 its why here in Europe at certain countries/areas that are known for their snow etc that they have laws for what tires you can use during the winter season and that you must have snowchains with you. I think it was like a $400+ fine in Norway if you get stranded with wrong tires and/or no snowchains in an area where they are mandated.
I'm amazed by this bad problem 😭 poor people, all we can do is pray 🙏🏻 in California we don't have that problem. God Bless you all Northern East of U.S.😢

Hell, I lived in Colorado for 10 years with a RWD Chevy Tracker. Got around just fine. I wanted nothing to do with this one.
Thanks for showering this if people would put chains on this stuff would not happen and if people would not go out and drive that would help but people don't youse there brains

This is how stupid people are! What did you guys think would happen when driving in snow with summer tires! No one should be rescued, stay off the roads!
I mean flash floods are one thing coming out of nowhere....but these ppl are just ridiculous who drive around with rear wheel drive and all season tires. It's just stupidity
Maybe next time when the motorists are warned about a snowstorm coming their way they should stock up on lots of water and food and thermal clothing including thermal blankets and stay in their homes or a hotel or motel or some other place if they have enough money or stay with a friend or relative that they had visited and drive away when the roads have been cleared of snow and ice.
Maybe they should have closed the roads... esp. the highways .. until the snow and ice stops? Oh wait, they are closed, according to what this video shows.
I understand this semi trucks on the expressway. That is their job They truck stuff from one of the country to the other and sometimes I get caught in snow storms. What about all the four wheelers out there why? If you don't need to be on the road don't go on the road. You're not proving anything. I'm just jealous we're up here in Michigan getting nothing I absolutely ridiculous. Oh and by the way if you got an all-wheel drive car or a front wheel drive car or if you're new to a pickup truck make sure you turn your traction control off. You start spending your tires and your traction control puts the brakes on That's why when you're a little bit stuck and you can't figure out why you can't get out well there you go. Oh and by the way if you're in a pickup truck you got it in four high push that traction button and hold it until it says on the dash that stabilitrac and traction control is off then you can go to donuts and four-wheel drive unbelievable amount of fun. Please do it in the parking lot that there's no one around We wouldn't want to hurt anybody now would we. Little thought from an old man in Michigan.
I hear you say "jobs magically disappear when there is bad weather. No bosses to threaten you with being fired." Also, winter tires don't make a car invincible. Every car on the planet could have winter tires and we would still get to watch these videos on TH-cam with people in the comments screaming "Winter tires!!!!"

it was 1977 the last time it snowed like this and even that was less than what fell on 6 January
