MMDVM Simplex Hotspot Firmware Upgrade - How to do it

- This process is quite simple to do. This is for the Chinese Jumbo Spot style generic MMDVM hotspots. Make sure you have an up to date pi-star version.
Copy and paste this command: sudo pistar-mmdvmhshatflash hs_hat

Thanks for doing these videos. I have been a ham since 1960 but never saw a need for this new digital stuff...... got bored snd bought a hotspot and md 380 and had a helpful friend run through the set up. Watching your videos helps me figure out what he was doing. You are correct...... keep it simple. There is always time for more details and complexity if that is your interest. I also like your idea of multiple hotspots for each type of digital you want to access....

Thanks for taking time to produce this video. Very easy. The key is entering the commands properly. I found the best way to do it is to type it in Notepad, then copy and past via browser. Works well.

why not just use the built in links/buttons (update)?
The update button doesn't update the firmware, it only updates pi-star.
I hot alot to learn for digital radio. Lol
