I played cello for Carmina Burana with the Irvine Symphony. The Orange County childrens choir belted out the part louder than the adults. They also were so happy to be there.
Looking back on when I was one of the kids sitting still in the Meyerson for two hours I feel like I learned something from it. I didn't get why back then but I think we all sang better when we got to hear the first half of the symphony even if we didn't need to come in.
I'm in a children's choir and the shows I do sometimes last 2/3 hours. I remember one moment when I couldn't take it anymore, I could hardly stand on my legs and my head was spinning, but I had solos to do, I had to hold on. It's very tiring but an incredible experience. After a concert like that I sleep at least 12 hours without stopping.

Tremendous children chorus??? I sang that in a chorus of 35 children.
4:00, Geez!
Why not just have them come out later? That's torture.
Because they want to be professionals, not wimps or crybabies
