  • Buffalo police officer Cariol Horne was fired in 2008 after she says she stopped a White Buffalo officer who was using a chokehold on a Black suspect. Jericka Duncan spoke with Horne, who on Tuesday had her termination reversed, and is now eligible for her nearly $1 million pension.

Definitely agree! But I believe she feels that its more about getting it right than becoming rich because at this point in the world. Its more about the justice than the money. God will handle the rest, but she should. She is entitled to the full justice and backdate of her pension and get more money from her pension because of wrongful termination.

As a retired police officer in the UK I am appauld at this woman officer's treatment for doing the right thing. Her bravery stands out at the highest level, knowing she may receive a backlash from her colleagues afterwards. Not only should she have her pension reinstated but also the loss of pay for her and her family should have been given, for the trauma they had to go through. I wish her well for the years to come knowing she can walk through life with her head held high. She sets an example for new recruits of why we join the police in the first place, which is firstly to protect life of all those in need of help no matter the situation or who they are.

Hi, I get what you're saying but you should look deeper into what they did to her over the course of this time. The harassment and threats she got. Not to mention being fired and not being able to find work and support herself and family. This was far from a stand strong and feel good story. I remember seeing videos of her crying and breaking down in fear. This past year and all the events that have been happening are the only reasons she is able to get to this point. If none of that happen, she'd be still fighting for what she deserves and most people wouldn't even know her story.

This is America. This is the America black people know. Some black people think they can buy their way into white America but eventually a white person makes it plain they are not welcome. And that's just the sad reality. I'm sure someone is gonna say my comment is the problem and I'm the problem. But this has been going on since before I was born. Some white people aren't use to seeing black people of the same status. But they are used to seeing black people in these jobs that they are pretty much in a position of servitude. And so the way they see the world is different. And then there are the advantages of being able to navigate life in that way. Some black people learn to live a life of luxury and shield their kids from racism. But they aren't telling their child that, they're just creating the illusion for their child that racism isn't a thing until it happens to them. Then their whole world is rocked. And then there are white people who are just racists and those who aren't but have some biases and those who aren't and get it. They get everything. Same with black people. Personally I feel our feelings towards white people are justifiable. Please be clear I said FEELINGS not to be confused with actions of any sort. But some black people hate white people. Some have biases and some just don't care and are all love is love. But most black people and those white people who get it aren't shocked or surprised.
