The plot point of Connie with his mom was really bad imo. I don’t know how Connie would think about feeding the kid to his mom for the two entire days they were traveling to her, but he changes his mind in 1 second flat saying his mom wouldn’t have wanted it. What the hell? It’s like he just wanted attention or something. And Armin was being a edge lord trying to find an excuse to die. The whole things was just so dumb and not handled well at all. Isayama could’ve had Connie mention it but he realized that his mom wouldn’t want it much quicker somehow maybe after Armin says something, idk. It just isn’t worth wasting that many pages on.

I wonder if you guys are going for something like the DARK because when we think about it Isayama did mentioned many times in the past about a depressing ending. It could have been Eren breaking the loop and finally achieving freedom . Just like Jonas while erasing the existence of the aot universe. Personally I think it would have been a great ending . No ending of any series can truly satisfy everyone, but you know something went objectively wrong when fans make a serious campaign to redraw of it.
The important thing is to make an ending that makes sense and doesnt butcher the rest of the series
To me it was just more a sign that much of the fanbase were idiots and that has been apparent for a very long time. No surprises here.

Isayamas ending was shit and I hate it. But MAPPA will NOT make an anine original ending just because we want to.
1. They cant do whatever they want. Isayama has a say in this.
2. The ending was massively popular in Japan.
3. Mappa just got out of a shitstorm of harrasement and even death threats over their animation. However, their product sold well, regardless of the loud spergs on Twitter. They will likely precieve our current complaints as a continuation of that and ignore it completely.
4. They already released a trailer for s4pt2
5. These days, MAPPA is one if those studios that takes on more work than they can reasonably handle. So their time schedules tend to be extremely tight.
So they dont exactly have the time to make an original ending. There is already a story made for them, they dont need to think about it, they can just animate it and sell it to all the dumb people who just want to feel good and dont think about stries twice.

I just felt the ending was very rushed , fans are trying their best to make to more meaningful, let's see how will the fans' attack on titan manga will end . I feel bad that even if this would be better than Isayama's ending but still it will not be animated 🤔
I never had a real problem with the Connie stuff... Let's see how they will handle other plot elements where people like you and me where more upset about. Let's hope for a more satisfying story with less plot holes.

I honestly never had a problem with Coonie and how the mangaka wrote him. I agree that him not sacrificing Falco to save his mother is a more mature way of thinking.
In my version of the arc I would have connie and some others try to sacrifice annie instead. It would make much more sense for them to not show any hesistation towrds her and not feel out of character for connie going to sacrifice a kid since they actually witness her kill off comrades and scouts. They can cut her limbs off while shes still asleep. This could work since she didnt wake up right away from being outside the crystal. And they already figured out that annie had broken out of the crystal by all hardening being undone. Then still have armin choose to sacrifice himself instead and have annie see this. This would make thejr relationship develop more and itll actually make the moment relative to the plot. My issue with the connie moment in the manga was never that i didnt like it it just felt rushed and didnt do anything to the story. U coulda took it out and nothing would change. But atleast this way it could add some development to their characters like annie.
This would be SUCH a good change. It'd tie so much together, like annie's karmic justice, Armin showing more of his bert side instead of just being suicidal, and it wouldn't be so out of left field and a weird moment. It would make so much more sense, that I will now convince myself to think this is how it actually went lol

To be honest, I don't mean to be insulting to the previous arcs. However, if you ask me, attack on titan always had a plot holes and retcons. I don't really have the energy to type out every inconsistency but I will try ones off the top of my head. For one, why didn't Reiner, Annie and Bertholdt connect the dots that zeke and eren might be related. Because since they both share the same last name, wouldn't they think back to zeke that also had it and probably heard about the ships never coming back from geisha's exile to paradise. It also becomes more unbelievable when Reiner and Bert were talking about eren in zeke's flashback. This one is more of a retcon, but while reading Reiner' flashback to his training days on paradis, Keith asks him what his duty is even though all the way back in season 1 it was shown that Keith did not actually ask Reiner or Bert or Annie or eren or mikasa or Ymir. But since I am talking about that instance, one of the random men from the garrison regiment if I remember correctly said that the reason Keith did not ask the names I mentioned was because they went through hell. But if that is the case then how is that a good reason at all wouldn't he still want to know their motivations and why is admin asked about it? Wasn't he sharing the same experience as them?
Agreed. AoT was great, but it wasn't the greatest work of fiction ever written (like some people claim).
The reiner training thing is not that much of a plot hole, isn't that just a flashback that wasn't shown to us before? And about zeke being eren's brother, yeah it's true but it's more nitpicky, it doesn't really contradicts the story like some parts in 139
So I recently rewatched the whole thing...
You guys reember the uprising arc? How they were in the cave, Historia's father transformed and they were going to die? But then, Eren suddenly found the "armor" potion?
At the time, I thought it would be explained later, and then I forgot about it.
But now that we now everything:
1. It was the biggest Deus ex machina I have ever seen
2. It is blatantly inconsistent with how the titans work

Also, how was Labov gear still being attached when he was already dead, how in the God's name his finger was pressing the ODM gear when he was already dead? I don't get it. Obviously, when Reiner killed that scout who found his hiding spot, that man fell right away because his anchor was no longer attached to the wall. AoT like any other anime it's not perfect, nothing is perfect. Imo we can overlook such plotholes, but the plotholes of last chapter are something else 😂

Oh my god this is so much better. Annie reunion wasnt some weird comedy scene and hitch actually had a use in making annie and connie not kill each other. Connies conversation with his mom. This is all much better it feels more natural i wish the anime switched up scenes like this. Still dont think Connie changing his mind on a whim was executed well however. And Armin talking about Falco was out of character
I think the route Connie took in this alternative is interesting. I still enjoyed Connie's choice in the manga, it was more compelling and believable yet appalling that he could snap like that; since Sasha died everything has been snowballing down in his psyche making for a tragically, negative character arc. I feel that build-up made for a much more satisfying aha moment after climaxing with him almost losing Armin, another dear friend, highlighting the effects of choices (mirroring Eren's choice during Marley arc). Overall, I enjoyed Connie's arc because it felt like a great way of connecting with AOT's cycle of tragedy theme.
And I know it was a more mature take in the alternative, but, as Sasha said, Connie is an idiot lol im trolling.
What I liked about this rewriting:
- Armin and Connie's reaction when they find out Annie is much more detailed and realistic. Too bad it was skipped in the manga.
- Connie's willing to help Annie because he thought about his own family he wants to save. Nice add.
What I disliked :
- Connie's reaction doesn't stick with his character. He hated Eren as hell and was overemotional all over since Sasha's death and he's come that wisdom all of a sudden? Also, Armin would not sacrifice Falco, certainly not him, it makes no sense that Connie is the one trying to reason him.
- What was the element that made him turn from an overemotional man (blaming everything on Eren) to that wise man who wish to protect Falco? Thinikng about his family? In the actual ending, it was Armin's willing to sacrifice himself that made him think. There's nothing here.
- The final line "To save our home" is much less impactful than "To save the world". "To save our home" is the warriors' motivations but not Connie, Armin and Mikasa's. "To save the world" really encompasses everyone's wishes at that moment and it has a lot more meaning.
--> We also learn later in ch130 that Annie was really the only one in that saving my home mindset. Everyone else still wanted to fight, even Magath, to stop the rumbling, knowing it was over for their siblings.
If the ending said "to save our homes" that wouldve been better. Also armin was out of character i agree. Connie at that point realised why eren was doing what he was doing tho cos of the monologue in paths so it makes sense hed think of him.

Not going to lie, it is probably time to let go. I despise the ending but I'm not going to try a rewrite that can probably end up being worse. There is underrated manga, animes, and VNs like Umineko and Legends of Galactic Heroes that are better than AOT best arcs that people should be checking out.
Very fair opinion! I'm still reading a whole bunch of other stuff, but I think it's fun to check out these fan projects. And I know Operation Usurper have a lot of people who were fans of AnR working on it so it's definitely going to be good

If you want to heal from aot. Check out hells paradise it has amazing cast and it’s just great. Has a ending aot and Tokyo ghoul could dream of having(it was satisfying, made sense , thought out and smart and was foreshadow and seen coming but not knowing how) and power system is good ect. It’s just all around good. Good male and female characters.. not a lot of ass pulls(barely any. It’s mostly logical planning and situation based on power system and characters train or get stronger but not to crazy amount like the enemy but they defer the enemy by using their brain and making tricks or teamwork) and conveniences. They have to use their brain based on what info they have and take risks that makes sense to work unlike bird falco and other aot bs. It’s consistent , has good char development and growth everyone has their own personality and ambitions and past back story so you can connect with all the cast members and understand their situation. It brings out the humanity of everyone and ones importance’s of life. Also has great fights and mysteries. It’s better than aot in my opinion even if the ending of aot was good or made sense like AnR o combination of AnR and more happy wait only AnR would of made sense based on series so aot was limited. Aot also had lots of character flaws not in terms of personality but in terms of interesting an development. If had to make a tier list like aot with hells paradise most would be b-s tier maybe a c for one dude that really is understandable and consistent and a good character but he is stubborn and annoying

I didn't mind Connie trying to feed Falco to his mother, it made sense. I'd have done it. This wasn't just any kid, it was a Marleyan. An enemy. Just like Gabi, who killed Sasha. He had no reason to spare him at that point in the story. Yeah, he had two days to think about it but there's a difference between going to do something drastic and then getting there and realizing shit, maybe there's a better way. Not to mention I don't believe Armin intended to die at all, he is the second coming of Erwin as far as sheer brilliance goes. There's no way he didn't anticipate that Connie would've abandoned his mission if Armin was willing to put himself in Falco's place. I have zero problem with the way this was handled.

Connie goes from spending 2 days thinking over and still going trough with basically murdering a child to save his mother... To being convinced by Amin in 5 minutes not only to not do it, but to be willing to sacrifice the entire island and everyone he's ever known to save a bunch of enemy nations...?

Wow, you guys are so insecure that you feel threatened by fanfiction?
Not gonna lie the art is worse than I imagined, and there are a lot of filler panels and wasted space and dialogue. Not faulting the group for trying though, but this shit is hard. My respect for Yams just grew, ending notwithstanding, seeing how even a genuinely involved and passionate fanbase still fall so short of the actual source's quality despite trying their best.
Of course their art is inferior to Yams, what did you expect comparing a bunch of fans works in one week span covering 3 chapters to the actual artist that has been working on it for 12 years and covering it one chapter monthly? Then again no matter how they fixed the rumbling it's already flawed in so many ways that even if Op Usurper goes beyond 139 it will not be enough to address all the points.
No matter how you look at it, this is just a fan project with no profit involved, them working on this alone is a blessing, sacrificing their time without any profit. If you want them to do the rumbling arc monthly it will take them 2 years to complete it.
Aside from that, a lot of things need to be fixed. Annie's comeback is already underwhelming, Mikasa need an entire arc for her character, Armin's reaction needs to be realistic and not purely idealistic, the formation of the alliance need more chapters, Falco with the bird titan, they won't cover it all, but at least they try to make it better.
The whole comparison between an artist who draws for a living and fans who draw for fun. Doesn't make sense 😵
This project is ridiculous and a slap in the face of attack on titan and its creator, oh yeah lets make characters more how they would be and then make some stupid dialogue of jean actually contemplating feeding falco to a titan... when has jean ever shown that he’d say something dumb like that.
