I heard the game can't be released to online sales because no one knows who actually owns the IP. If these guys release this version for free without needing the CD I guarantee someone will find out who actually owns the thing and then we can pressure a modern release.
Or whoever does own the rights, but doesn't want to re-release the game, will file a lawsuit against those that do release it. Sadly in this day and age, my money is on that option.
@@LoremIpsum905 I agree fully. I would adore being able to play this game again! I was only stating what I felt was the more likely outcome. But I fully embrace the desire to try to get this game back. :)

personally i thought black and white 2 was better but black and white 1 had better puzzles theres also a black and white 2 Redux mod that changes the game entirely and adds some extra puzzles from the first game
@BenKii well, kind of. It runs nicely for a few hours then crashes for some unknown reason, ppssibly a memory leak but im no expert. Only the base game though he can play creature Isle fine.
You really should not have downplayed the importance of Openblack... everyone that is ever going to play the original game has already done so, and loves it. Openblack is how you take a dead IP and make it appealing to everyone by removing the locked gate on the code, and lifting the potential of the game to near infinite.
@@jong2359 Not my intention to down play it. I just wasn't able to get it to work. No idea why it crashes on me. I love the fact that we have a source port and hope they make B&W run better than what we currently have.

ya know with the gesters for the mouse and whatnot and the aspect of the floating god this would make one hell of a great VR game. Yes i bought this game way back when. yes i liked it. never finished it tho the gesters didnt lend themselvs to the mouse i had.
