My original copy of this game was completely cursed (aka unpatched) . That final island just didn't work properly for me. My poor old creature remained smol forever and Nemesis had one 1000+ year old, immortal villager left stuck in his temple, forcing me to reset the entire island. I love this game.
The good old days when you'd get your patches direct from the developer website using dial up connection. I never finished the game when I was a kid. I remember getting to world 4 much later on but when I was a kid I think I got stuck somewhere on world 4.
About the invincible guy with a sphere of influence. You can throw him all the way to lethis' temple. Then sacrifice him into on of the alters. It wont kill him but it will hold him in place so you can continuously cast fireballs at his temple and cheese the island. I really hated the 3rd island

And then back in the main campaign I'd just sit back as the wolf played the entire game for me. Or rather he'd micromanage all my villagers while I just threw rocks at things.

Like drop burning invincible objects at a temple, or sacrifice a burning immortal villager at an enemy altar, that just perpetually burns and destroys their territory from within.
The stones that glow are in the process of becoming artifacts from villagers dancing around them at sunset. Eventually they can make wonders massive, meaning food miracle gives you several million, or wolf miracle lasts for minutes. With a massive indian wonder your villagers move so fast you can't see them. Shaking the fireballs in land 4 with slow time will convert them into prayer points.

This game taught me that it requires work to be good, and it's easy to be mean, but to truly be evil, it takes a lot of work. Like how hard it was to teach my tiger to only put 1 child in the sacrifice once a week while also having him only throw his poo at villagers away from the food store so as not to infect the whole food supply.
Funfact for those who don't know On Land 2, Lethys at one point will poison one of your villages with poison grain. You can take this grain however, and get infinite poison grain by poisoning any amount of food with even a single point of it... And the best part? You loose no Alignment for using it on enemy villages.
my method for winning involves creating dancing stones from level 1 that I carry through the entire game which I use to convert other villages very fast. Holy cow you also do that. you may be the only other person I have seen do that

if you pull the mouse back or stop it immediately after releasing the mouse you will add spin or lift to the object you are throwing. This allows you to do tricks such as lobbing things up in the air, or making a ball have back-spin
I ended up finding the unofficial patch mod and installed it after installing the archived official patches 1.1, & 1.2 & 1.3. It was all quite complicated. I'm not even sure I did it correctly, but it was functional, so I just went with it. It should go without saying, just be careful where you download stuff. Because it requires a fan patch there's always a level of risk attached to it.
Keeping g the game from crashing in world four is the true test of a god. I'd like to know how to be able to tweak the game files like I used to. I'm on windows 7, and it's telling me I can't alter those files; I used to be able to alter the amount wood, the race of villagers, placements of miracles, but now I have to rely on the few trainers left to accomplish that. Anyone who knows the trick, I'd be forever grateful.

it works native on windows 10 afaik you may need a patch for the DRM if i rember but thats about it
