Holiday decorations at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House

One holiday season, they hung three 5-foot-tall glowing Christmas trees from the vaulted ceiling in the gallery of the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House.
Another December, Mrs. Ford had workers decorate holiday trees with bouquets of fresh spring flowers "just because she liked them and she could," observes a staffer at the sprawling Grosse Pointe Shores estate, which boasts a floral preparation room with built-in coolers.
