Its crazy how he thinks he knows whats right for zombies even though he wont sink time into learning the maps and easter eggs. Does he really think people would still play zombies if it was as braindead as getting perks getting guns then killing zombies for an hour?
@@thecandyman9957 yes, thats why chronicles outsold the dlcs 😂 and why do you think they made it so simple and easy in cold war? Because bo4 was “too hard” for everyone so they gave up. Even tho that game is probably the easiest aside from cold war. I love doing easter eggs, and love the zombies story. I have since bo1, but imo bo1, 2 and 4 have a lot more fun maps and ways to play compared to bo3. Bo3 story was alright, but it ended worse than bo4

That’s legit the only quote I remember from this game and I played it recently, there are games I played several years ago and I still remember a lot of quotes but for BO3 that’s the only quote I remember.
It surprised me how he said he likes origins in chronicles but he’s shitting on shadows calling it complicated. Dude, they’re like the same thing pretty much. I’d argue the apothican servant is easier to build than the staffs.
To be fair. You don’t need the staffs for pack-a-punch. Turning power on is clear on the map and you can get away without a guide the first time you play it. Good luck doing that with Shadows of Evil.
@@loganolson3968what are you on? You don't need AS to get to the pack a punch either, and unless you have 0 curiosity, turning the power on is pretty straight forward as well in SoE, you don't need no guides on any map unless you're going for EEs
agreed with this list, but I thought black ops 2 had a better campaign. I liked the multiplayer in bo1 more than bo2, but thats just my opinion. I didnt really like the maps in black ops 2.
Me being a hardcore zombies fan I never thought how casual people would think of the more complex maps. Because for me I can do all of shadows without even thinking. Same with der eisendrache and origins. Which is also weird to think about how you probably didnt even get the elemental bows on der eisndrache. All im saying is I agree with you on a casual perspective but as a hardcore player bo3 is my favorite zombies gamemode
Yeah but also a lot of these complaints are kinda dumb and i dont think hes really played a lot of the map, saying SOE doesnt have enough stuff to bring him back while having probably the most content packed into a zombies map, and saying theres nowhere to camp but all of the teleporters are some of the best places in the entire series to camp in
Bo3 is the golden age of zombies and is the best for casual and hardcore players. They have maps where hadcore players can go all out like DE, SoE and Origins but still have plenty of casual maps like Der Riese, Kino, and all of the other WaW maps. If they just did a Cronicles 2 and brought over all of the other Bo2 maps I would never have to think about any other zombies game again.
Black Ops 3 zombies was incredible. The graphics, the perks, the feel of the mechanics, it was all around a great experience. And then Zombies Chronicles remastering EIGHT classic maps...idk if Treyarch will top this
@Spoods Noodle Doodles bo4 zombies was really awful imo. i’m sure some people enjoyed it but for me it’s the only treyarch rendition of zombies that i just couldn’t play. too much was changed, the mechanics of the zombies were too strong for a PvE game. just wasn’t fun tbh. they made a completely turn around for cold war zombies thankfully.
@Spoods Noodle Doodles multiplayer was surprisingly good. super creative with the unique attachments per each weapon, improved specialist characters compared to bo3, really smooth gameplay mechanics, and a great battle royale in Blackout. zombies though, really bad.
@@isaacnewton8649, Cold War has solid maps and a superb engine it’s just that the way they’re handling their releases is dogshit. It’s not on the level of bo3 for sure though.
The fact that the campaign doesn’t connect to the previous black ops games and didn’t have the multiple endings like black ops 2 turned me off of this game
Advanced Warfare just did it so much better. You didn't know what had happened to you. All you know was that Cormack looked on at you in sympathy, as he dragged you away from the wreckage. Its only after you're dragged off do you watch your arm snap off at that little bit of skin; and get left behind. Then the funeral scene where the camera purposefully pans down to focus in on your slinged arm. But nah, let's just watch our player get brutally beaten to death.
@@leenguyen6056 idk I think it looks much better than some of the newer cods especially trash vanguard. Like I said though I think its the colors and detail of bo3 that make it stand out to people. It definitely felt next gen af when bo3 released compared to ghost and many other titles at that time and even now.
@@cdhall1849 The colours has nothing to do with the graphics. If you truly believe bo3 has better graphics than Vanguard then you’re biased and delusional since vanguard objectively has better graphics.
@@leenguyen6056 lol I'm not biased it's just a opinion. Vanguard is truly hated to begin with and graphics is one of the 10,000 problems with it. I just dont agree considering b03 and b04 are 4 years apart and they look the exact same to most people lol. And b04 was released right before mw19. And lighting and coloring are apart of graphics.
@@cdhall1849 How is it an opinion if it’s objectively not true? Any aspect which affects the graphical outcome is superior with Vanguard. You may be speaking of the artstyle (which seem to childlike and boring to me tbh) which is subjective. The graphics however are not
The multiplayer is a lot more skilled than boots on the ground in my opinion. The amount of ways you could approach an area of the map with the increased maneuverability meant that you can actually counter people holding an angle while headglitching. While airborne you are harder to hit and it is harder to hit others meaning better aim is required. Camping was just a lot less viable in this game. The specialists also added a fun new element to the multiplayer.
Agreed 100%. This is the 1st COD game I actually felt connected to the different characters and their factions. Not just a generic army guy. And the ability to run up on campers and take their advantage away was pure bliss.
Ur not wrong but I love the shooting and movement in WW2. Feels like the og classics like bo2. But I do love bo3 aswell, both take a lot of skill honestly
the kind of quests you had to do in maps like shadows are what made it so much fun for me. sure, it could be a bit more direct in telling you how to unlock PaP and such, but i found it to be really fun. as for the zombies keeping you on your feet at all times, i think the extra hit you can take and being able to reload while sprinting helped with this. the game encourages you to move more. the dlc maps were an absolute blast, with gorod and der eisendrache being two of my absolute favorite maps.
Advanced Warfare: I’m a soldier who lost my arm and my best friend on my first mission, I’ve been working for a “superpower for hire” since Black ops 3: I don’t know who I am, I don’t know why I’m here, all I know is that I must kill
Honesty Act Man has a casual gamer level and the game creates a high skill gap between casual and good players and he surely wasn't doing very good as he never mastered movements etc
@@PaulisInclusion His points are valid though. You can't play Shadows without doing all the objectives and it's not for people who just want to hop into zombies and have fun. This wouldn't be a problem if there was just one or two other maps that were like that that you didn't have to purchase, but Shadows is all you get. If you compare Bo3 to WaW, Bo1, and Bo2, you can see how zombies overtime has changed from a fun arcade mode to one long fetch quest. And if you like that sort of thing, good for you. You're gonna love Bo3, but to those who don't, you're kind of shit out of luck.
None of the "easter egg" quests are fun to do, none of the steps make sense, and figuring it out on your own is just impossible. I agree 100% with him, the only "easter eggs" that were any fun (and actual easter eggs) were the ones in Der Riese way back in 2009. Oh you don't know how many 360 no scopes you need to do while standing on this specific pixel? Well that's too bad here just run around in a circle for 30 minutes with the last zombie, that sure is fun.
I adore the zombies on this game, my personal favorite of the entire series. I really like Shadows of Evil and all the mysteries in it. Shadows has so much content it's actually insane that it's a non-DLC map, but that's the issue, it's not DLC. I feel Shadows is a great zombies map for real zombies fans but not for casual players. Same goes for Origins in zombie chronicles, it's too Easter egg driven to be played casually. They have too many moving parts that can't really be learnt without looking it up. I really like all the maps in BO3 zombies and I played them years after newer COD games came out.
The alien tentacle stuff really didnt do it for me. And kinda egotisical to say "REAL zombie fans" Shadows just doesn't blend well with whats established. From a veteran point of view
everyone can be in agreement how off his take was on the zombies, because why the hell would you repair barricades, getting overwhelmed is annoying but change up your strategy, if you hate gums or complexity you can simply avoid it on almost all of the maps by not running gums or playing the game in a simpler way like just pap'ing and playing, this was the evolution and peak of zombies as a mode with some blemishes.
@@JesusDiaz-du4hpbut public lobbies are a mess with gobblegums. They’re fine in single player but unless it’s a private match, they should be kept out of public matches
Well it's making me want to buy Bo2 to replay it just for the campaign because I ain't playing MP on PC and I ain't fucking playing it on Console, and I ain't buying it again.
Black Ops 1 has Good setup for future story . Black Ops 2 has absolutely awesome and refreshing game play and a dope follow up Story . Black Ops 3 has a ....ah .. it has a "Train go Boom" Black Ops 4 has a 404 not found
blablahnothin 199 I think that joke works well, but if your talking about the lack of campaign, I don’t mind it. I play multiplayer only I get prestige master and dark matter all other modes are useless
This was made 5 years ago when shadows of evil still wasn’t as appreciated as it is today, shadows of evil for some people is arguably the greatest zombies map if not in top 5 of all time, the theme, the music, the size of the map, the buildables, apothicans servant, and the Easter egg is not as hard as everyone makes it to be, this map has had such a big impact on zombies that it will be remembered for years and years to come, shadows of evil was a masterpiece.
Also gobblegums we’re greatest addition to zombies, giving less good players a push forward and makes things a little easier and if you don’t like the gobblegum guess what you don’t have to pay for them to have a good time in prestige 9 and still find myself using classic gobblegums some games.
Idk how tf he found shadows of evil hard. ITS LITERALLY an easier version of mob of the dead. When ur in beast form icons pop all over ur fucking screen telling u where to go and hit as well lol. I feel like he loaded into the map, ran around for 10 rounds, then quit cus he didnt bother to actually "play" the map. The map has an intuitive way of guiding u to each location and fully unlocking an area as soon as u spawn into the map. I'd understand his pain if unlocking pack a punch was the equivalent of trying to upgrade origins staffs where u need an online guide just to know wtf to do.
World at War: Let's have a memorable story. Black ops: Let's expand on it. Black ops 2: Let's continue on the previous story. Black ops 3: what the actual fuk is story anyway lol Edit: Thanks for the heart Act Man!
I mean I’d say that shadows is simple because you just do 4 rituals which unlocks pack a punch that’s all you need to do the rest is just for the Easter egg

The reasons i got all the black ops Bo1: everything Bo2 : multiplayer and zombies Bo3 : got it just for zombies Bo4 : what a waste of money The reason why I like bo1 better than bo2 is because bo1 was my very first call of duty i ever owned black ops 2 is a great game I just like bo1 because it was my first cod
There's no Avenged Sevenfold in this game. That's why it's so mediocre. Edit: Damn, this is the first time Act Man's ever given me a heart. I'm guessing he's an A7X fan, too.

As a fan of titanfall and tf2, I actually don’t mind the movement mechanics in the multiplayer. I really like them actually. Makes it different from all the other generic shooters. I can see why people don’t like it tho. Cod was always about gun skill and positioning. Jet packs and sliding turns it into a movement shooter which isn’t what cod don’t want and I understand why. My biggest issue with the game was the monetization. Loot box’s, emotes, op guns that you had to gamble to get. That’s stupid. This game probably would have done well on its own if it 1. Didn’t have all the micro transactions or 2. Had the cod name attached to it.
Yeah shadow of evil was the best zombie map I played because it had everything I wanted in it a small story a semi boss fight like the three handed thing good zombie good map and I played it over 50 hour with my friends and we never got bord of it
Black Ops 3 objectively had the best zombies in the franchise. They had literally everything. Good mechanics, 3 hit down no jug finally, and maps both for the people hungering for complex stories and easter eggs, and remastered versions of all the original zombies maps that were perfect for hardcore fans and casuals who just want to load in and shoot zombies without a bunch of stuff to worry about.
@@MeruOnYT Black Ops 3 zombies is definitely a solid advancement for those who have been long time hardcore fans of the series. But I think I can understand where Act Man comes from, he took a break from the series for a while and probably didn't keep up or consistently play zombies as extensively as others. So he didn't feel like zombies needed to evolve as much as it did to him. But for new players, I don't think Shadows of Evil was a good map to choose as the default one for gameplay purposes. Should have had a simple basic map and a more advanced one.
He has started to play and learn the complicated zombies. He said he likes it, he liked bo4 zombies!!! Imagine how much he would love bo3 zombies if he though bo4 zombies was good.
The BO3's campaign is loved by some and hated by most. Those who loved are either those who liked to steamroll through their enemies and din't even payed attention to the story. Or those who managed to fully comprehend the story and found the brilliance and attention to detail that others missed. And by the way, the mission log (A.K.A. the fast scrolling text at the beginning of each mission) is the key of understanding the story. Although hiding the critical information in fast scrolling text certainly wasn't such a good idea after all. But yeah, overall whether you see the campaign as trash or brilliant really depends whether or not you were able to comprehend the story. Also if you need to know, in the final mission, Player (your character) have completely took over Taylor's body without him (and you) being aware of. And then his/hers conscious (along with you and Corvus) were completely wiped out after DNI purge. Thus Player dies again...for real this time. Game Over. As for BO3 being made for casuals. I have to disagree. I mean there is difficulty that is even harder than veteran called realistic. In realistic difficulty you pretty much die in one or two hits. (not true in turret section) It can be more annoying and frustrating than fun but it may as well make you think about those ability some more and may make you use those ability some more. Anyway, that was my take (and opinion) on the campaign.
@@alexandrpeterberg390 >Thus Player dies again...for real this time Except they return to the Mobile Safehouse post the end of the campaign. Seems like they were able to create an afterlife neuroscape for themselves. A place, that is somewhere calm. A place, that is somewhere safe (literal safehouse). A Frozen Forest of their own.
If you didn't like the zombies in BO3 (for whatever reason) then you could always let your fantasies go wild with custom zombies. Ik this vid is old but damn 💀
Ok Great True, however, for those new to Zombies starting out on Shadows it would seem very complex, me personally started in late WaW so for those people who played a long time shadows would seem easier. To summarize my point was simply that newcomers to Zombies would see Shadows as a hard map.
This video aged poorly, not because the points Act man raises are invalid, but because compared to what COD is right now, BO3 is definitely NOT mediocre
i’m 22 and I absolutely loved this game when it came out. i got to 6th prestige in MW3, 7th in black ops 2, skipped ghosts and advanced warfare bc i thought i was done with the series as a whole. i thought it was gonna be dead within 5 years lol how naive i was. but when black ops 3 came out i had to get it bc i was a hardcore zombie fan. i got it expecting the multiplayer to be absolutely garbage but i actually played until master prestige, and enjoyed it quite a bit. i think your criticisms are valid, and playing it nowadays isn’t the same, it’ll always hold a lot of sentimental value with all the fun i had with it with friends.
Its not really your die in the beginning. The hole game is messed up dni scan. The bald guy is the bad guy because the simulation had no were to put him because you are him.
Honestly the people who like black ops 3 now are the 7 year olds from 2015 who just didn’t grew up during cod in it’s prime. And that’s okay. They have no control what era of cod they would grow up in.
You know, we can still look at the Black Ops trilogy as a trilogy without bo3, since World At War still connects to Black Ops. At least it’s a tiny bit reassuring...
I'm an Ethiopian-American, and I can swear on Crip that the enemy troops were NOT speaking any of the languages Ethiopia is known for, it's just gibberish. At least, the Ethiopian lodge multiplayer map was accurate.
ok so overall , besides the zombie mode review, this was a pretty alright review. however my biggest problem was a sort of passing statement about zombies chronicles. you mentioned how you can enjoy the maps further in zombies chronicles more because its not surrounded or reliant on gobblegums to begin with. however that really isnt true. you can play these maps like Shadows, Der eisnendrache, Gorod Krovi, and Revelations without gobblegums just like any other map because they weren't created with gobblegums in mind as well. sure you can have them to add some extra spice to the game or make certain parts easier especially in gorod or just break the game entirely. but they really arent necessary or essential to have fun on these maps. if they were to take them out, then the bo3 maps wouldnt really change at all because they werent made with them in mind.
I agree what you've said about both multiplayer and campaign, even a fan of the Black Ops series myself, I could barely go through the first mission of BO3's campaign. That being said, I feel like you didn't really play the zombies mode as much as you played the multiplayer and or campaign. I do agree that Shadows of Evil should not be a starter map for beginners. That map has way too much going on, and too many things to do for people casually playing. But to say it's a mess because you can't rebuild a barrier or find a good place to camp are just bad claims. They've made non rebuildable barriers to help speed up the game on higher rounds, because in BO1 and 2 it took centuries for zombies to spawn in. You spoke about your experience in Der Eisendrache and had the same run and gun problem, even though they're so many ways to camp in that map to get to round 50+, with a wonder weapon or not. Speaking of wonder weapons, you never go indepth on these weapons. The DE bows and apothican servant in SOE are far better and creative wonder weapons than BO1's winters howl or even the thundergun. I think you look at gobblegums the wrong way. Gobblegums maybe considered cheap because of the micro-transaction shit tied with it, but it makes the game so much more refreshing. Before BO3, it would be the same process to get setup on a map. Maximize points, buy doors, get wonder weapon, survive. And if your a hardcore follower of the mode like me, that process gets old. That's when gobblegums come in. They spice the game play up and gets rid of the monotonous early rounds to get you right in the action. Take the example of the Kino match you played with your buds. Someone like you thinks it's "cheating" getting a bunch of firesales, while others like myself consider it being very helpful to get that weapon I could be spending thousands of points and rounds in just a minute or so. And no offense Act Man, but saying that the ZC maps were better is because they weren't built off gobblegums is just ignorant to say. BO3's zombies maps are well balanced and you can play them without gobblegums perfectly fine. Finally, if you don't like gobblegums, DON'T USE THEM. If you just want to chill and kill zombies, no ones stopping you. How can you say they give you an unfair advantage? Gobblegums don't make you better. Just because they have perkaholic, doesn't make them a god at the game. It always depends on the skill of the player. I just think that dismissing the mode to being messy and or bad, just because these maps are difficult for you shows your lack of understanding to the zombies community. If Treyarch released a bare bones map like Ascension or Kino, the community would flip shit. They would be asking questions like "where tf is the storyline easter egg" or "where's the buildable sheild". Thats almost exactly what happened when The Giant was released. This isn't 2010 anymore, the majority of the community wants more things to do in their maps. You failed to state this and just pass it off as "boring shit". No wonder ZC is your favorite DLC, you still enjoy that formula. BO3 is held as one of the best zombies experiences in the community because of the way they revolutionized the gameplay. For example Gorod Krovi added a timer so that you can speed run rounds and if your time was short enough, you had the chance to buy a melee weapons. They also added a hat system that allows you to do extra damage to special zombies and have bonus resistances to some too. Some real problems with BO3 is that the game is too easy. Some gobblegums are balanced and some are fucking insane, like you stated in your video. Near death experience is game breaking on solo, Power Vacuum turns occasional power ups like max ammos and nukes that spawn in every other round, to basically every zombie that you kill with the gum activated drops at least one power up. Double pack a punch abilities turn every gun into a wonder weapon, making every gun feel the same. The mystery box is filled with amazing weapons, which destroys what the mystery box was intended, to spend 950 points to either get a great weapon or a dogshit weapon. And thats just to name some. Overall tho, loved the video and keep up with the good content Act Man

Yeah but also a lot of these complaints are kinda dumb and i dont think hes really played a lot of the map, saying SOE doesnt have enough stuff to bring him back while having probably the most content packed into a zombies map, and saying theres nowhere to camp but all of the teleporters are some of the best places in the entire series to camp in
He’s being very over dramatic about how complicated bo3 is.
@@chase7624 I enjoyed IX a lot, and I even enjoyed Ancient Evil, but it wasn’t enough to redeem the game.

Aw2

Graphically this game is still ahead of it's time. The detail and colors in the maps are amazing

They were making one but Activision forced them to cancel cause it was taking too much time. Do your fucking research

This comment was underrated for the paragraph you wrote, i cant comment on bo3(because i never played it), but you have good points :)

everyone can be in agreement how off his take was on the zombies, because why the hell would you repair barricades, getting overwhelmed is annoying but change up your strategy, if you hate gums or complexity you can simply avoid it on almost all of the maps by not running gums or playing the game in a simpler way like just pap'ing and playing, this was the evolution and peak of zombies as a mode with some blemishes.

Also gobblegums we’re greatest addition to zombies, giving less good players a push forward and makes things a little easier and if you don’t like the gobblegum guess what you don’t have to pay for them to have a good time in prestige 9 and still find myself using classic gobblegums some games.

But for new players, I don't think Shadows of Evil was a good map to choose as the default one for gameplay purposes. Should have had a simple basic map and a more advanced one.

The thing about bo3's campaing is that it had the most interesing premise, but the worst execution of it.
Ngl that kinda sound like tranzits
@@alexandrpeterberg390 >Thus Player dies again...for real this time
Except they return to the Mobile Safehouse post the end of the campaign. Seems like they were able to create an afterlife neuroscape for themselves. A place, that is somewhere calm. A place, that is somewhere safe (literal safehouse). A Frozen Forest of their own.

Personally, Shadows of Evil was my first zombies experience and I absolutely loved it.
It wasn’t my first but it’s my tied favourite with mob of the dead and origins
It was a great map, but it was very complicated for a launch map. (Which I personally liked playing zombies for a long time)
Dynasty987 in pretty sure you have to have played it a lot to start liking it, I didn’t like it at first but it’s my second favorite map of all time
Big Penis Five, Shangri la and Verrückt make Shadows look like the easiest map ever
Ok Great True, however, for those new to Zombies starting out on Shadows it would seem very complex, me personally started in late WaW so for those people who played a long time shadows would seem easier. To summarize my point was simply that newcomers to Zombies would see Shadows as a hard map.
Unrelated, but to this day WaW's soundtrack still sends chills down my spine
Tank Dempsey best CoD ever made
This video aged poorly, not because the points Act man raises are invalid, but because compared to what COD is right now, BO3 is definitely NOT mediocre
Aged beautifully... BO3 is overall garbage but the graphics are good same as the new MW3
I love how after Act Man played Black Ops 2 he adds the BO2 soundtrack in his vids. LOVE IT!
It has a damn good soundtrack
goddamn right I did, Black Ops 3 didn't have many good tracks from what I heard
The Act Man Some of the tracks in “New World” did. The track “brave” was pretty good, but besides that it was pretty average. Mediocre you might say.

i’m 22 and I absolutely loved this game when it came out. i got to 6th prestige in MW3, 7th in black ops 2, skipped ghosts and advanced warfare bc i thought i was done with the series as a whole. i thought it was gonna be dead within 5 years lol how naive i was. but when black ops 3 came out i had to get it bc i was a hardcore zombie fan. i got it expecting the multiplayer to be absolutely garbage but i actually played until master prestige, and enjoyed it quite a bit. i think your criticisms are valid, and playing it nowadays isn’t the same, it’ll always hold a lot of sentimental value with all the fun i had with it with friends.

ok so overall , besides the zombie mode review, this was a pretty alright review. however my biggest problem was a sort of passing statement about zombies chronicles. you mentioned how you can enjoy the maps further in zombies chronicles more because its not surrounded or reliant on gobblegums to begin with. however that really isnt true. you can play these maps like Shadows, Der eisnendrache, Gorod Krovi, and Revelations without gobblegums just like any other map because they weren't created with gobblegums in mind as well. sure you can have them to add some extra spice to the game or make certain parts easier especially in gorod or just break the game entirely. but they really arent necessary or essential to have fun on these maps. if they were to take them out, then the bo3 maps wouldnt really change at all because they werent made with them in mind.
@@sundaewashere did u read any of the above comment idiot?

Totally agree, I think he would put all the barebones maps as the best while maps like origins and MOTD at the bottom
