      God bless Her Late Majesty for her visibly willing cooperation with the Holy Spirit making the awful and evil 2020s a great deal more Godly.
      And may Father, Son and Holy Spirit keep with you.
      Go out into this poor old world of yours and tell your story, as do I.

      Yes, through the beloved and active and innovative Holy Spirit, the above is I believe as close to heaven and the divine as we may get on Earth. The timeless beauty and order of the scene, even enhanced by the flaws snd infimities of some people we see there ... and also by the sheer difficulty of the task facing the Guardsmen, and the way they STRIVE to make it not just good enough, but the Best. All just emphasising the true humility as well as divinity bequeathed in this way by Her Late Majesty.

    You men did a top job . You bore the physical remains of a much loved monarch of global authority with respect and dignity, who was the cap of decency and high standard in a world so broken. You handled that loaded lead lined coffin with faultless precision as young sons of a great nation. Thank you for your care. She was my Queen for all my life.

      It's a wonderful comment, my friend. I agree completely.
      Indeed the contrast between that broken world you so rightly refer to and what we see here is so stunningly great ... and is meant by the Holy Spirit to be so.
      Which route do we choose for ourselves and for that world?
      2022 made that choice rather stark, did it not?

    How wonderful to hear Orthodox Christian chant on this solemn occasion and also at the coronation of King Charles III. Axios!!

    • @MrBulky992
      @MrBulky992 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      This is not Orthodox christian chant. It is Anglican Chant and takes a specific form (a 3 bar phrase followed by a 4 bar one) not found in any other chant. It first originated in England in the late 17th century with chants by John Blow and Henry Purcell. Greek Byzantine chant and Russian Orthodox chant are quite different and are not historically connected with Anglican chant. Anglican chant is used for the singing of the 150 psalms of the Old Testament together with canticles used at morning and evening prayer e.g. the Te Deum, Benedicite, Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, especially in anglican cathedrals and large parish churches throughout the world.

      Many Cathedrals maintain pretty high Evensong standards. In many a British city, you ask on an average day what is the most-refined cultural (even leaving aside spiritual) experience possible and that is the obvious answer. Obviously, regular church always faces the risk / distraction of becoming humdrum, which is why the Holy Spirit is active and innovative, if at times enigmatic. Of course, the Late Queen knew that Her death could make a real spiritual difference in the atrocious 2020s. Her husband's pandemic-time funeral set that ball rolling as stunningly beautiful and meaningful (including weatherwise!!). These were the greatest (perhaps the only) beautiful and divine public events of the 2020s. The Coronation too, as we remembered what we had forgotten- that the key Player there is indeed the beloved and strong Holy Spirit as provider of cleansing love and truth, meaning, inspiration and resilience... That could also be seen in the non-random (Spirit-inspired) popular culture of the Commonwealth Concert. Sadly the darkness interfered there to ensure that the BBC did NOT make that available to all. By the way, the Chirch of England online service (a Haven in particular for expats, the infirm or elderly, people scattered where churches are rare, and so on) is hosted by a different parish each week, and the diversity of approach is just STUNNING. A high level of spirituality is achieved routinely, even if it is often NOT as serious as the above, for obvious reasons. 300-350 from all around the world typically "attend" each time, which is telling in and of itself. I love it and need it. And of course recommend. For many it is additional to non-virtual church. We do not know each other from Adam (good phrase), but as Jesus would want, we have come to be close and look out for each other...

    The most beautiful few minutes I’ve ever heard. Unbelievable… from a yankee and someone not devoted or knowledgeable on the queen. When I first heard this on the news I couldn’t believe the sound… the vibration, I thought it must be the acoustics of the abbey but then I found out this octave of psalm 139 had never been sung or recorded. This is the only one. My lord… if you can’t feel a little god in this… you might not have a soul.

      The Queen was a devout Christian and took her role as the Supreme Governor of the Anglican Church very seriously.
      Her request of Psalm 139 to be heard on her casket`s entry to Westminster Hall reflects her belief in God`s omnipotence. She even once said that in the event of the return of Christ she would gladly lay her crown at his feet.

      On the day of the Queen's funeral, the coffin was taken from this place (Westminster Hall) in procession to Westminster Abbey where the full funeral service took place. The coffin was placed on the ceremonial gun carriage originally used for Queen Victoria's funeral in 1901 which is always pulled, not by horses but by hand by naval service personnel. It's not a long distance but, at the pace of a slow march, the journey takes exactly 8 minutes (12 minutes, if you include loading and unloading of the coffin). The procession was entirely on foot and accompanied by military pipe bands.

      So it may be time to open your eyes and your heart to things divine. Bad things may be coming, as we see, but The Queen was taken to safety, as she well deserves. But in going she gave millions or even billions a chance to see the Holy Spirit at work down here on Earth, and be saved. She would LOVE such a mission! Born Again" was never a phrase I expected to apply to myself, but I found myself begging for cleansing on 28-2-21, and the Holy Spirit came. If I can start to see, and if I can call it the best thing that ever happened to me, and if I can say and write hundreds of times how immensely grateful I am for the love and mercy shown and the insight gained ... then so can you!

    I witnessed all the ceremonies around the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on television. This moment made the deepest impression on me; more so than the service at Westminster, the military march through London and the interment at St Georges. The setting of Psalm 139 by James O'Donell is so intense and touches so deeply the emotions of the psalm. This should also be sung at my funeral.

      During WW2 the Queen's Father, King George VI asked the people of the Empire to pray for a Miracle six times, every time was when things were darkest for the people of Britain, Dunkirk, the Battle of Britain and so on, I think the last two were the D-day Landings and the Battle of the Bulge, I can't remember my Great Grandfather fought in WW1 and my Grandpa fought in WW2 and took part in the Landings and he talked about Women, Children, Miners, Factory Workers, the Elderly and the Military going to Church at any free moment to say a prayer and many people across the World saw HM Queen Elizabeth as the last connection to that time, when things were more simple and that people still had the time to go to Church in Britain, Faith and Service is seen differently in different parts of the World now.

    Lord, thou hast searched me out, and known me thou knowest my down-sitting, and mine up-rising;
    thou understandest my thoughts long before.
    Thou art about my path, and about my bed
    and spiest out all my wa’ys.
    For lo, there is not a word in my tongue
    but thou, O Lord, knowest it altogether.
    Thou hast fashioned me behind and before
    and laid thine hand upon me.
    Such knowledge is too wonderful and excellent for me
    I cannot attain unto it.
    Whither shall I go then from thy Spirit
    or whither shall I go then from thy presence ?
    If I climb up into heaven, thou art there
    if I go down to hell, thou art there also.
    If I take the wings of the morning
    and remain in the uttermost parts of the sea
    even there also shall thy hand lead me
    and thy right hand shall hold me.
    If I say, peradventure the darkness shall cover me
    then shall my night be turned to day.
    Yea, the darkness is no darkness with thee,
    but the night is as clear as the day
    the darkness and light to thee are both alike.
    For my reins are thine
    thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
    I will give thanks unto thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
    marvellous are thy works, and that my soul knoweth right well.
    My bones are not hid from thee
    though I be made secretly, and fashioned beneath in the earth.
    Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect
    and in thy book were all my members written
    which day by day were fashioned
    when as yet there was none of them.
    How dear are thy counsels unto me, O God
    O how great is the sum of them !
    If I tell them, they are more in number than the sand
    when I wake up I am present with thee.
    Try me, O God, and seek the ground of my heart
    prove me, and examine my thoughts.
    Look well if there be any way of wickedness in me
    and lead me in the way everlasting.

      Yes, even at the doors. Read the letter to the Church of Philadelphia carefully, for we are the Church of Laodiceans.
      Each Church represents the spiritual state of the true Christian Church’s 7 eras until the coming of the LORD.
      The Church of Philadelphia’s era began in mid 1700’s and ended in mid 1800’s. In the letter sent to this particular Church, the LORD saith: “ Because thou has kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world , to try them that dwell upon the earth.” Revelation 3:10
      Because we are lukewarm, we have been given this “hour.”
      Very important to read Exodus and understand what prevented the majority of the Israelites to enter into the promised land.
      The same will happen unto most this time also. They will be prevented to enter unto the Holy and New Land.
      Please, read Hebrews.
      Now, Balaam contributed to make the Israelites to sin gravely when they were near the promised land. So, do the Balaams of today.
      The Almighty God is holy above all of His characteristics and we must approach Him dressed in our Lord Jesus Christ’s righteousness.
      If we believe that we are sanctified by the Lord’s righteousness , we must repent and let the Spirit of Truth guide us in faith and hope, separating us from the worldly things.

The false lid was removed before the actual burial.

    This is a Psalm from The Old Testament, written by another King, King David. The Queen must have read the Psalms of the King throughout her life. The Psalm describes how close God was to mankind from the beginning. It shows us a theology of creation that makes God appear not only the creator of the vast world as a whole, but also the maker of every single person living on it. It is God who formed man in the womb. God appears as the omniscient and omnipresent, who knows each individual and affirms them as wonderful.
    This psalm is God-centered and not man-centered. God appears as the omniscient, the incomprehensible, omnipresent-supra-spatial, almighty Creator. It ends with David's total turning away from all ungodliness and surrendering completely to God, trusting in His ability to lead him into eternity (which might be why it was chosen for this occasion)
    Especially verse 5 (You surround me from all sides and hold your hand over me.) and verse 9 to 11 (If I take the wings of the dawn and stay on the outermost sea, your hand would lead me there too and your right hand would hold me). The Queen surely tried her whole life to embody Christ, which us why she is so beloved and respected. This reminds me, when the followers of Jesus were contending which one of them would be the greatest, Jesus answered them: "For who is greater-the one seated at table or the one who serves? Surely, the one who sits at table. And yet I am in your midst as one who serves." By this the Queen surely has aimed to live her life.

      @Shaise Kindering David could hear from God but Psalms are mainly David's prayers, lamentations and worship, which reveal a lot of knowledge about God to the reader, since David walked with God for most of his life and had recieved great knowledge and understanding, as well as having developed great faith and a righteous heart.

    Music at the Abbey, under Mr O'Donnell has been of the most consistently highest standard. I'm sure the choral programme for the funeral will be stunning. And, if tradition is followed, and Mr O'Donnell is appointed Director of Music for the occasion, the music for the forthcoming Coronation will be every bit as phenomenal as it was back in 1953 under his predecessor, Sir William McKie.

    • @MS-19
      @MS-19 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It isn't a foregone conclusion that James O'Donnell will be appointed to lead the music at the Coronation - for one thing, he will be leaving Westminster Abbey at the end of December 2022 in order to take up a Professorship in Music at one of the top universities in the USA, so inviting him back could be seen as a snub to his successor, Andrew Nethsinga, who will start at the Abbey in January 2023.
      Then again, the Coronation Committee is at liberty to select whomever it sees fit to direct the music at the Coronation, and although past Abbey Organists (notably William McKie and, centuries before him, Henry Purcell) have been accorded that responsibility, it is just as possible that the Committee would invite a noted conductor such as Sir Simon Rattle to take charge, and the Abbey Organist would be tasked instead with playing the organ.

    • @iwasglad122
      @iwasglad122 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MS-19 I had no idea that he was leaving. What a loss for the Abbey. Well, that will be very interesting to see who is put in charge of the coronation music. You are absolutely correct that it will be the decision of the Coronation Committee. It could well be a British conductor. Sir Adrian Boult took charge of the orchestral music before and after the '53 service but Sir William conducted the actual service itself. I'm only assuming the Abbey Organist will be in charge because it has been that way for the previous 4 services: Sir Frederick Bridge (1902 & 1911), Sir Ernest Bullock (1937) and of, course, "sweet Sir William" (HRH Princess Margaret's description!) in 53. I look forward in anticipatory excitement!! Many thanks for your reply and the information therein.

    • @MS-19
      @MS-19 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed, his (not quite a) quarter of a century has been a remarkable era in the Abbey's musical history. He is a hard act to follow; Andrew Nethsinga is one of only a handful active in British church music that could be up to the challenge, and though he will likely not be more than a year into post when the Coronation comes around, he will be up to the task of leading its music if chosen to do so. You may well be right that the precedent of the last century will be matched, but we shall have to wait and see.
