Hey Bobby, I hope you don’t leave the VC, your one of the very few guys who promotes the Funk and R&B records. Please give it some consideration. I have lots of the funk albums you show and was considering doing my own videos but I’m to nervous. I recently picked up a copy of the John Handy album Hardwork, that was your recommendation. I love it, I didn’t know about that one. My brother, you got to stay with us, Keep The Funk Alive..✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻

Hey Frank, I thought you were joking on Rachel's Ghost that Bobby was calling it quits. Sadly, it might be true. Respect.

@@thesurfacespins I was not joking, I can see why you want to leave, the problem with VC is that the lovers of funk and soul are not involved in this community of vinyl collecting on TH-cam. It’s all white dudes into rock and that’s the problem. I hope you don’t quit, I will miss your recommendations.

Great video, and I'm contemplating about the Speakers Corner Edition of the Elvis'1957 Christmas Album reissue. But....... Am I getting it right that Speakers Corner did release in stereo intstead of glorious 50's mono?

Some amazing falsettos on Blue Magic. Completely eclipsed by Earth Wind & Fire, but just as good. Thank you for the tip. And no, I never heard of them before, You scooped me again. PS - I like Blake Mills (now thanks to you). Imma gonna pass on the Elvis Xmas and the Basil Rathbone tho....

Part of what makes it funny is that Bobby does actually own the Michael Bolton record. I’m guessing he either bought it for $1 to give it a fair shot, his parents had it, or it was stuffed in a shipping box as a stiffener for another order.

Then I was down south and I heard some funk with some main ingredients
Like Doobie Brothers, Blue Magic, David Bowie
It was cool, but can you imagine Doobie in your funk?

First of all, I really hope you stick around with Spittin Da Truth About Records! I look forward to each posting; the shoutout to the trolls, the featured record of the day and your assessment of your latest pickups. I've also gotten some heads up about some great 70s soul funk. I'd be said to see you leave.
I had gotten into Phoebe Bridgers debut ~2018-19 and she gave Blake Mills a shout-out during an interview when she was asked for a recommendation...which lead me to check out that Break Mirrors album...fantastic. Great sounding album. I particularly remember tripping over the track Wintersong with it's Fleetwood Mac-esque outro...then realized that Jesca Hoop was singing on that track and another. I got into her after her " Love Letter for Fire" record; a collaboration with Sam Beam from Iron and Wine. I recommend her record Memories Are Now as well.
Pino Pallidino has played with EVERYBODY for YEARS. John Mayer and the Trio, Blake Mills, Richard Ashcroft- Alone With Everybody and a little known album by Teitur - Poetry & Airplanes that I like (the latter is not available on vinyl that I know of...). I remember checking out that collab with Blake Mills but it initially didn't grab me... I will have to revisit it.
Rachel's Ghost hosts a live daily YT channel; often with some of the VC biggies, and always seems to be willing to give a shootout to those looking to grow their channel / subscribers, so you might want to give that a try. Getting to that first 1000 seems to be the hard part.
Bobby...I wish you best of luck with the sports themed channel with your buddy (you gaddado watcha gaddado),...but all the while hoping you and SDTAR stick around!

I stumbled across this cat like most people do on TH-cam, he simply showed up under my recommendations and so I gave the clip a chance. I’m glad I did. He talks like a buddy of yours showing you albums. It’s just that simple. He provides honest and straight forward “reviews” of albums he picked up on the street since he last cut a video. I only comment, like and subscribe to a channel when I like the content creator and want to push his channel to get more views. This paragraph is no different. Check him out if you’re looking for a dude who spits some truth on vinyl records. I knew I’d dig this vinyl brother when he started in on his love for Lee Morgan. I hope the man gets more subscribers so he could turn out a couple nickels from his TH-cam content. His recommendations are obscure enough to find something new to alter your musical taste and chart it in a new direction.
So, subscribe if you want another vinyl lover out here who knows to keep his content short and his music eclectic.

If you're not having fun, Bobby, you should quit the channel, but you've got a ton of enthusiasm and you clearly love music. Just do it for fun and don't worry about subscribers or comments. Limit yourself to one a week at the most so you don't burn out. Looking forward to the sports channel.
    Cheers! Tom

Oh man, that would be a bummer if you quit this channel entirely. You got a lot of knowledge and this channel is definitely underrated. But I get it. Maybe try doing like one video per month while you work on your sports channel?

I did notice the differece between the original of Elvis X-mas album 1957 and the speakers corner edition, wich I have recently bought. It's a great release, but, the order of the photos in the booklet is different, and the artwork and labels are not 100 percent authentic ( I have the original '57 LP sans sleeve and booklet) like Elvis is Back! for instance. Other than that it is a great release. I just wonder why speakers corner didn't do this more authentic. Maybe Sony didn't give permission for all of this? Also on the spine of the sleeve they've printed 2x LOC 1035 unlike the original only 1x LOC 1035. May seem nitpicking to some of you, but if you do a faithfull reproduction, it should be 99,9 percent like other releases.

Vinyl collection after awhile becomes old news, how many do you no longer play and they just sit on the shelf. Box Sets are expensive, especially if you already have the records. To each his own, I'm really not interested in hearing songs played in different versions.
