Any reason can be a start. Just like people can come up with any reason to drink, or use use drugs. If it’s a rationale to do something positive, let people have it! It’s a good idea. I hope and pray Vicky’s mom continues to take steps toward recovery! Practice makes perfect! ❤️‍🩹. She is always welcome in the recovery community. We can’t wait to walk with her. I know I speak for all of us in solid recovery. Anyone trying to nitpick people for having a chronic recurring condition hasn’t accepted their own, yet! Go, Mama! ❤

Yes! Rehab works, I'm proof. None of my kids were speaking with me and they weren't letting me see my grandkids. I was sleeping in cars, ERs , or not sleeping at all. I regret ever taking that first pill for my back pain. One day I woke up and just went. The lady said u have to be here at 3am . We take the first person. Sometimes it's the first two people. 1st day no luck. Second day I got dropped off at 3:30am. There was a lady at the door already. :( I was tempted to leave but I stayed. I listened to her story and she listened to mine. I prayed and asked God if today is the day then please let me get in. I prayed and asked God to get us both in. The doors opened at 7am . We signed our name and we were told to have a seat. I was already starting to have
withdrawals. Ugh!!!! We both sat there in the chairs facing each other. 2 hrs go by and nothing. All of a sudden she stands up and I said where are u going? She said home. I started crying and begging her to stay. I said please, please stay you need this! 😢😢 She came over and hugged me and said I'll be here tomorrow. God Bless you! I watched her walk to her car and drive off. Ten minutes later the lady at the counter called me up to the window and asked where the lady in front of me went. I said she left, I told her to plz stay but she left anyway. The lady looked at me and smiled and said Well today's your lucky day, you're in!!!!! Omg! I kept saying over and over Thank you God, Thank you God!! I came out 9 days later with a certificate ❤ I put my 5 kids in a group text and just showed them what i got. They were so happy. That was 6 yrs ago, No relapse, ever. No dirty UAs in those 6 yrs. I'm so happy that I did that. Thank you God. I Just wish my Mom and Dad were able to see me sober. They both passed of Cancer😢. Anyway YAYYYY MEEEE!! And yayyyy to anyone who took that first step also❤❤❤

You were in rehab for 9 days and have been sober for 6 yrs since then? I'm blown away by that, because I know people who went for 9 months and couldn't get sober. Good for you!!😊❤

@michelledesjadon1476 Thank you so much. I get random UAs monthly and I've never come out dirty. My counselor says I'm one of the ones she doesn't have to worry about. I hated not being able to see my grandkids, I'm so close to them. That hurt me more than anything. I just Thank God everyday that I dont wake up sick anymore. Thank you again, I appreciate your words ❤️

@@janievasquez9671I’m black a black mother and I have an addiction to Vicodin. I’ve been to rehab went clean for 2 years and I got depressed and started taking them again. As someone who’s been to rehab many times and finally now am beating a 20 year addiction, she has to want this for her. Unfortunately no matter how much your mamma loves you the only person that can get her through this is her. Rehab, family support and the lord are all very important pieces of the puzzle but most importantly she needs to want a better life for herself and motivation of her own. I’m praying for her, and remember she needs you. You can’t just drop her off and expect this to work. She needs to see you and feel loved and needed. God loves you and your momma too. The worlds proud of how
Much you’ve changed Victoria and your mom can do this also. Anyone reading please keep her in your prayers also

This is very true. It even took me a few times and I was the one who wanted it. I finally stayed cleaned when I stayed and continued therapy not just doing the detox and then trying to live life. One of the first things they said to us in rehab was if you don't want it for yourself it's not going to work. I hope since she called her that it was her decision and she was just going through the motions because she was scared and already had been drinking. My mom got clean 4yrs ago my dad has been drinking all my life and both relationships have always been strained. I literally live next door to my dad and barely have a relationship with him. I really feel for her it's already hard enough to deal with someone in active addiction but even harder when it's a parent and you have to take care of them when it's supposed to be the other way around. She seemed to do good on the shot. I pray it all works out for her mom

But today I am 10 years sober and wouldn’t change my wife or anything. She just needs a lot of support and a lot of motivation. Usually when people go to rehab they come out and they do the same thing over and over again multiple times before they actually get clean so just work with her that’s all I ask of you. Vicky I am so incredibly proud of the woman you have become. You are inspiring and such a strong soul. I’ve witnessed so many patients go through detox before being able to ge taken to a facility. It’s going to be so hard. But nothing you can’t handle especially with our lord and savior by your side.
I’m so sorry for anything you e had to go through before this and anything that may come after. I pray she gets through it and you get to see her on the other side🤍🙏🏽

AMEN 🙏 as an addict in recovery I never could see the bigger picture before sobriety. But God willing I found out in the middle of my addiction I was 5 months pregnant and knew my child was what would have changed my life so the second I found out I was pregnant, not only 5 months pregnant but a baby boy I just knew it was my time to change and May of 2017 I began my journey of sobriety and had my son October 2017 and have been a sober mommy since !
Vicky I pray your mom goes through this and gets through it and God bless her with the strength to fight the demons everyday! The demon of addiction shall be taken from her soul and bless her to live a happy sober life and not for ANYONE but herself first ! You cannot get sober and stay sober for somebody else .. it has to start with you first ! I knew I had to change in order to be my son's mommy ... Bless you all through this journey
    UPDATE PLEASE ??

I am a recovering addict of 12 years the best thing you can do for her is be there no matter what but always draw the line between loving her an helping her over enabling her! Your a good daughter an she needs you more then ever right now! Stand strong pretty an be her support network! This is t going to be easy it’s going to be hard but if you stay by her side an show her you mean business then she will be ok! Praying for you both!

As someone with an alcoholic mother who I haven’t talked to in about a year because of the verbal abuse, I admire you so much. This video is going to help so many people like myself to have hope. It also shows the dramatic changes in an addicts mood, one minute they are telling you how much they love you then the next minute they are using you as an emotional punching bag. You’re so strong & so is your mom. I’m sending both of you love & prayers. I pray when she comes out of this that she gets to live the life that she deserves for the both of you ❤
