Well, nobody *needs* to know about these bikes, but if you're blessed with a little curiosity and a broad field of interest, its cool to know. By the way, at all times "the youth" by and large did not share the elders interests. But at all times there were exception - this guy is proof of that. 🤷🏽♂️
That place is worth a trip to Kansas alone. What I like about the old bikes is their suspension systems, brakes and intake valving. Those machines are beautiful and the stories make them better. 👍
IIRC, Jerry's dad, Herb, built that in the shop they had at their amusement park, Joyland, in Wichita. I once saw Herb ride the 'six' while visiting a popular dealer in west Wichita when I was a teenager. They also were strong into steam traction engines in the day, long before they became a popular item in recent threshing shows.
Twisted Oz is one of the best Motorcycle Museum's I've ever been to, and I've been to a bunch of them... The people there are very knowledegable and friendly, they'll take their time in showing and explaining what they have. You won't be disappointed.
My heart couldnt believe my eyes it was beautiful and all those bikes were so looked after, Thank god for people that love history and all it held and thank you for sharing your day with these lovely people thank you so much.
I love that he made a museum of his collection!! There was a guy who had lived out by where I used to live who collected old cars, but instead of sharing them with people who would pay to see them, he just left them in a Quonset to rot and rust. As far as I know, they're still there.
Lol this showed up in my recommendations. I live 10 miles from there. It’s literally a world class motorcycle museum. Kelly and Jerry and the rest of the Ottoways have truly given us some treasures to behold!
I've been in motorcycle stores and even in Harley Davidson places but I've never seen another place like this. Incredibly interesting. Love this video. Thanks ☺️
Hi, Chris, Thanks for the tour of the Twisted Oz Motorcycle Museum, I saw more ancient cycles there than any other museum I've been in. The high point for me was the 1914 Harley Davison because my father had one of them. I think he told me he had paid $300 for it used in 1915. It had a two speed transmission, and his friend whom he bought it from decided he had to have the latest thing, a 1915 Harley Davison with a three speed transmission. Can't wait for your next video, God Bless and stay safe.
Yeah, I live in Augusta too, about 3/4 mile from the museum. It's been a very good draw for spectators from all over. Naturally, the Covid crisis has altered the traffic a good bit.
I caught Kelly riding the Indian Six on Kellogg a couple weeks ago and chased him like 5 miles just so I could get some pictures of it going down the road! Not too often you get a chance to take pictures of a 1 of 1 motorcycle actually going down the road!
I had never heard of this place until you posted the video. Wanted to make my own motorcycle trip down there last year and got sidetracked. It's nice to revisit this in the hope that I can get there this summer. Love the video, thank for taking me here and to big Brutus. I have not seen Brutus since I was a kid.
This is crazy... I happened to stumble across your OKC Bombing Memorial because I am visiting it next week. I am from Augusta and have wanted to visit this museum since it opened. Crazy seeing something that you drive past almost every single day on someone else's TH-cam channel. Awesome video, by the way. You have a new subscriber!
Awesome place! If you have a chance, go to the Forney museum of transportation in Denver. Home of one of the "Big Boys" and huge collection of cars, bikes, motorcycles and planes
The Flying Merkle was the most innovative and best motorycle of its time, ahead of Harley and Indian. But its high-end bikes did not get government contracts in WWI. There is another big motorcycle museum in North Carolina, Wheels Through Time.
Love vintage Harley Davidson's. I would love to have a old Knucklehead (especially a 36 or 37) or even a old Pan head. In period correct white or blue or silver or preferably white and blue or silver and blue. So it would match my Harley Davidson Road King big wheel bagger.
Folks, if you love motorcycles, check out Barber motorcycle meseum in birmingham al, there are hundreds there, all models going all the way back to 1880
I also just posted a new video on my other channel. Go check it out! th-cam.com/channels/3PAAgmwwCJ6QaVEDr3ndXg.html
This is history that young people need to know about not just computers.
Foos today only know the next call of duty and what ball player threw the most shots..cant even air their car tires
Agreed. I love history of all sorts.
Yes the instant gratification generation is stemming my lost out on things like this.

I'm a motorcyclist and as such this vlog was entertaining, educational, and informative. Thanks.

Thank you!! Great video!!
That Indian Super 6 toward the end is awesome.

Incredible machines. Art music adventure heartbreak and love. Motorcycles are special. Especially these old masterpieces.

8:45 $75,000?? I can’t imagine what that would sell for at the right auction. Probably double that
Awesome! Will definitely make this stop a must visit! Thank you!

Chris you should have made this video longer.
Chris mentioned early on it would take about a 9 hr video to do it all. You've given me an idea. (Part II? Part III?)
Hope i can get there some day, wonderful place, lots of gizmoness as Indian Larry would say, rip
Great! Did not know it was there......i'll have to stop by. Been to Anamosa several times.

Great museum and good stories.
Nice video Chris, it's important to hear and document the stories of the "old timers" before it's too late! 👍

I'm not really into motorcycles BUT I found this extremely interesting!!!! Thanks so much!!!! Pat
Fantastic video.
I always look forward to your vids!
Amazing indeed 👍🤗🐻
Very cool
That was a nice change, old motorcycles instead of old buildings.
Still wondering what type of BMW that was: R26 or R27?
Back in 1888, an inventive farmer attached a chainsaw engine to a scythe. His wife from that day on hated that durn motor-sickle.
Great video!! :)
wow thats so very cool.... really like to more know about this place? do they have webpage?? thk you
PARADISE !!!!!!
Folks, if you love motorcycles, check out Barber motorcycle meseum in birmingham al, there are hundreds there, all models going all the way back to 1880
Does everyone get a tour like that or just mobile instinct?
Anyone at all. I think I just got lucky that they were all there and Jerry happened to be first to greet me.
Awesome! I could stay all day there. Did you get to ride any?
Man, there was some works of art there.
Jerry didn't have a Honda 50cc scooter on display (mine was white & I felt like 'Easy Rider' on it as a kid)
Beautiful and rare collection! Lucky for this guy that the folks that he purchased these bikes from didn't know the value of what they had huh:(
There was no value when Jerry was buying. He wasn’t doing anybody wrong, nobody wanted them. He was ahead of the game, not lucky, smart.
All Right Yeah !!
Nice 👍
I am so going there
is this the wheels through time TH-cam channels motorbikes?
I want the trike at the end but it needs to be a scooter instead
They had a bunch of cool scooters in there too. You would have liked it
What does Oz mean in the context of Twisted Oz. I think of this as short for Australian or Oswald.
I wonder what the story is on that rocket looking motorcycle is at 0:42
Looks like a land speed contingent.
Kelly has a collection of different vehicles like that in there. I'm not sure what that one was though.
