This happened to me during the pandemic for some over payment of unemployment in California which I know didn't happen. They took my permanent dividend check for it. Couldn't get it resolved.

I went to high school in the early 1980s. We didn't have security officers or police on campus. There were occasional incidents. I had to have reconstructive surgery on my face due to an unprovoked attack from another student. The whole incident lasted about two seconds. The assailant was held by other students, and the police were there within minutes, before my father got to the school. This did not provoke a response of making sure police were on campus all the time. To me, it seems like having police or armed security on campus all the time is provocative. Kids don't feel safe when there are armed people around them all the time. It makes school feel like a prison, which some people my age may relate to from the album The Wall by Pink Floyd.
My neighborhood doesn't have the same level of police coverage as the local high school.

Aw. Your personal experience convinced me . Hey I didn't have fun in school either. But you don't speak for most . We had gang members everywhere. I saw guns regularly . We needed armed security.
