I have to admit, with such epic songs/lore like this, Blizzard pretty much defined what fiction races look and sound like. For example, for me, this song is what I picture when I think of elves. In every fantasy book or movie out there, elves have to look and sound like this, all musical/beautiful and nature-y. The Inheritance cycle is the perfect example - I really liked it, because it perfectly fits the description of elves and dragons, that Blizzard helped define. I don't know if this makes a lot of sense, but anyways... All I'm trying to say is, the song is awesome, the Warcraft universe is awesome, Blizzard is awesome and fantasy is awesome.
yeah i know what you mean, ever since wow all the fictional races have set sterio types elfs worship nature gods and are good at magic and archery orcs are crazy war loving savages goblins are greedy backstabbing money grubbers dwarfs talk like scottish peopl, live in mountians, and love mining and hammers the list goes on
My mom is one of the many who don't have emotional reactions (or even think they should illicit and emotional reaction) from instrumental music... I on the other hand feel that a scene is only truly as powerful as the score that accompanies it. This is oen of my favorite pieces, from Warcraft or World of Warcraft, it really holds the heart of the Night Elves... Soothing yet contains passion... peaceful and yet the NE can wage war... This piece really conveys the heart of the Night Elves.
This is seriously amazing work the best song of the track has just been upgraded this is pro work man you rule this 100 times thumbs up and totaly recommended :DDD
I love how you ended the whole mix with the track found in Ashenvale. Probably my favorite version, just because of how serene the beginning is, and then powerful and graceful. For a Sin'dorei player, like myself, I still love this music.
Very nice blending! I know this song well, and all it's parts, so I know where the breaks are. :P The fading from one song part to the other was pleasing to the ear and very enjoyable. I also like the picture you chose. Thank you for sharing. :)
I havent played WoW for months now. It remembers me to the old times when i was so fascinated by the world of warcraft. And a newbie just reached level 80...good old times.
I have so much respect for both factions, to be honest. Both have been through so much. But, Nightelves are one of my favorite races by far. Their lore is beautiful. And I just love how in touch with their goddess, Elune they are. And how they value and respect nature.
What is it that keeps bringing me back to this song? Well, thank you for asking, the reason is... the Night Elves are fucking epic. They are ancient. They sacrificed their immortality. Wisps made Archimonde the Defiler (who had just come off the high of bringing Dalaran to its knees) EXPLODE! Night Elves ride giant cats and while they lose the war in Ashenvale... are still coming off ten times more badass then the orcs... THAT is what this song represents, and the reason why I keep coming back.
The biggest game ever ... noone from those that just are sitting around and speak about that wont understand this game ... i m really proud that i played 3 full years World of Warcraft and i will remember them for ever ...
This song gives me the goosebumps from the first note to the very last. I imagine a druid (mine in particular since she's who I play most now), shifting forms numerous times throughout different parts of the song. It's so beautiful, and it makes me want to run off into the forest and become one with it :)
This track absolutely captures the fighting spirit of the Kaldorei. Afterall, Hyjal has been sacred to them for over ten thousand years. I can't help but feel that this song is their call to arms to defend their ancestral home, as well as the honor of their fallen comrades. The first time I heard this while leveling in Hyjal, I cried. Quite a moving track, Blizz.... P.S. Both of my main toons are N.Elves, so I can't help but appreciate such a truly epic track :)
If this was on iTunes I'd buy it straight away :), I agree the original version, even with its sheer awesomeness!, is alittle too short, good job bud :)
not at all, i play as Undead and i love the overall music of the Elves, High Elves, Blood Elves and Night Elves, the languages and music are astoundingly beautiful
Whenever I hear this song I imagine a Night Elf dramatic DEATH and everyone's like 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *sad face*' God, it makes me shiver. Then the battle music comes, and that's when the still-living Elves get revenge
This music tears me two ways - on the one hand I picture the Night Elves in Darnassus and Teldrassil, but then I also picture the Elves from Middle Earth in Rivendell. Either way I win
You know, more people should view and maybe even download this beautiful song. I know I did, I even converted this video to an MP3 File and have listened to it almost a hundred times on my iTunes. :3
Well, actually Mother Moon or Elune in the tongue of Night Elfs,is a goddess for all races, she loves all creatures. Many races respect her,for example taurens, they call her Musha and shows her great respect.Orcs come from a different planet,so they dont really giv a shit bout elune, but she still loves everyone.I would love to see Elune coming down from the sky while a epic battle is raging, and she would start singing her song and bring peace, that would be epic.
The high elves (Quel'dorei) had already been exiled from the NE society for a looooooong time before they turned into blood elves. The reason why they renamed themselves to Sin'dorei (Blood elves) was to remember their brothers fallen in the Third War against the Lich King. It also matches the moment when they turned to the Horde for help and started using Fel energy for their magic.
It's the Night Elven symbol from Warcraft III. When the Night Elfs still strived as the independant immortal souls they used to be. Most of the game. Lore stuff.
I loved the original, but when I hear this version, It just blows me away. I imagine a nightelf druid standing on a path in the forest, she is listening to the sounds. Right as the drums start at 1:20, I think of her taking off at a full blast run, and at 1:32 turning in cat form, as she is running. She runs until the end of the path drops down to reveal the rest of the forest, and she skids to a stop at 1:37. Dust flies, and the air seems to sparkle. She sniffs the air, looking for the Horde.
Heh, back when I was playing WoW whenever this song started up as I was leaving a zone, I'd circle back around. Dailies and what not can wait, epic music now.
here are the lyrics which i got from the non-extended version of this song. these are in orde so you have to listen to which point in the song has the words since the person that uploaded this didn't include lyrics in the video. nordrassil zin-azshari (glory of azshara) quel'dorei (children of noble birth) nordrassil elune adorei, elune adorei (elune be with you x2) *upbeat music* nordrassil... elune... zin-azshari, zin-azshari (glory of azashra x2) ...adore (be with you)
I just play WoW for fun, however, I have been looking for Nightsong for awhile now and I do think it's a very good piece of music not just for a video game, but overall.
Epic. 1:19 that's when Elune whispers the call of the Wild to you. Run swiftly through the very forests of Ashenvale, eager for battle. Fly through the mountains surrounding Hyjal, ready for war. I may play a Blood Elf but I know how the Kal'dorei and the Sin'dorei are related... Elune be with you. Mezame, Thaurissan
Ugh people stop hating on wow cause it's addicting. Wow didn't "ruin" ur social life or any other part of your life, your choice to not stop playing it or to do nothing but it was your decision not blizzards. If your gonna hate on this game for "ruining " ur life you might as well blame every game out there as well.
Sorry if I presume too much, but the only people I ever see that hate the Pandaren are people who have not actually played Mists of Pandaria. I myself was extremely skeptical about turning a joke race into something serious, but Blizzard did an amazing job. The Pandaren do fit into WoW now.
She flies down the hill, and pounces on the Horde that is hiding, and they engage in battle. She tears him apart with her claws and teeth. NE for the win! LOL I know, I'm such a nerd. I just thought I should share my vison with other WoWies that loveed this song too. :)
@xXsudeki4Xx lol, I pretty much stick with elves. I have a Kel'Dorei on Moon Guard right now. But I plan on making an alt Sin'Dorei for when I want to play Horde.
In hyjal in the virdant thicket you can see nightelves battling with twilight cultist you will hear this soundtrack playing , not all of it but most of it
Nicely done, shadowsnstuff, excellent mix and syncing the tunes together! Laurie Ann Haus has a beautiful voice. I would love to hear what Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance could come up with, talk about a totally amazing voice and an extremely wide singing range! Where are the areas ingame that you recorded the other versions of Nightsong?
Now you can! The official blizzard version of this song is one of the default tunes you get from completing the quest to get all the pieces for the jukebox.
@ryfodrea Obviously you have not really understood the lore. The Kal'Dorei are what you call the night elves and the Quel'Dorei are what became the naga, satyrs and blood elves. If you listened to the song, it is talking about the upper caste that were in Queen Azshara's favour. Queen Azshara allowed the Quel'Dorei greater access to the well of eternity and thus they became addicted to its devastating power. The blood elves almost served the legion until Dath'Remar decided against it and joined
I find Night Elves, sort of traitors in a way. I mean it was the Night Elves, combined with, Orcs, Trolls, and Tauren of The Horde, and Jaina's Human Forces that helped take down Archimonde. Then they just flip off any idea of continuing their alliance with The Horde? It's not like Thrall instantly quit after Archimonde died.
FOR THE SCOURGE!!! (The most superb enemy was a fusion between a Human Paladin and an Orc Warlock) btw the best elves are those that run in circles in the graveyard... ^^
Ysera forever in our hearts :'(
:'-(
She was the BEST.
She back brother!
you guys have no idea how LONG i have been searching for this song for i personaly think this is THEE most beautiful piece of music in all of wow
FOR THE ALLIANCE!! FOR THE HORDE!! DEFEAT THE PLAGUE!!
For the Forsaken! Trust no one.
Thumbs up to both because I love every perspective WoW has to offer us. Its what makes the story great.
I role play as a neutral draenei. Some people say for the horde, some say for the alliance, but i say FOR AZEROTH!!!!
***** What about Draenei and night elves?
P.S you're probably Horde
@Dan McGladdery lol, yeah.... The Horde has always been the most aggressive and reckless one
How is this level of epicness even possible?? How???
I have to admit, with such epic songs/lore like this, Blizzard pretty much defined what fiction races look and sound like. For example, for me, this song is what I picture when I think of elves. Esakosarara
why? am i dead wrong or did you just realize it was actually peter jackson who bit off chris metzin, and not the other way.
Absolutely gorgeous.

I feel like nightelves are one of the most amazing races in the game and also one of the races with the best lore
they put so much work in the soundtracks this one is by far my favorite
I havent played WoW for months now. It remembers me to the old times when i was so fascinated by the world of warcraft. And a newbie just reached level 80...good old times.
An amazing song, brilliantly extended, well done.
these songs give me chills down my spine.
i want this at my funeral.
I have so much respect for both factions, to be honest.
Both have been through so much.
But, Nightelves are one of my favorite races by far. Their lore is beautiful. And I just love how in touch with their goddess, Elune they are. And how they value and respect nature.
This was one of the reasons why I loved Ashenvale so much. So eerily beautiful.
What is it that keeps bringing me back to this song? Well, thank you for asking, the reason is... the Night Elves are fucking epic. They are ancient. They sacrificed their immortality. Wisps made Archimonde the Defiler (who had just come off the high of bringing Dalaran to its knees) EXPLODE! holy crap... i got chills reading that while listening to this song
Epic, truly love this - thanks for the mix
Oh god this is so good !! Thank you man, you rule !
Rest now, Ysera, in the stars...
Technically in the emerald dream
Really? How ?
She's in the xavius fight and when you beat him you see her and the 4 nightmare dragons there.
*-* OMG
Out of all the new zone music of Cataclysm, this is the only one I can actually remember, let alone sing or hum.
The most serene and calming part about this song is part 3:34 to 6:13
This track absolutely captures the fighting spirit of the Kaldorei. Afterall, Hyjal has been sacred to them for over ten thousand years. I can't help but feel that this song is their call to arms to defend their ancestral home, as well as the honor of their fallen comrades. The first time I heard this while leveling in Hyjal, I cried. Damn this songs brings the chills and WoW suddenly aint just a game! Love it :)
Ah... rember the moment this epic music shows up and we retoke Gilneas...
... those good old times
If this was on iTunes I'd buy it straight away :), I agree the original version, even with its sheer awesomeness!, is alittle too short, good job bud :)
not at all, i play as Undead and i love the overall music of the Elves, High Elves, Blood Elves and Night Elves, the languages and music are astoundingly beautiful
is it only me or are the night-elves just... The Perfect Race.
"They are, perfect warriors"
That part in the beginning where she sings "Zin Azshari" gives me chills every time.
this is beautiful
Whenever I hear this song I imagine a Night Elf dramatic DEATH and everyone's like 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *sad face*' God, it makes me shiver. Then the battle music comes, and that's when the still-living Elves get revenge
Very nice blending. I though the previous was to short for it's epicness.
Elune be with you all!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hail to the Night! I want to see Elune come down from the sky in an epic way and one shot the orc race! Glory and power to the mighty Kaldorei!
Hail
Well, actually Mother Moon or Elune in the tongue of Night Elfs,is a goddess for all races, she loves all creatures. Many races respect her,for example taurens, they call her Musha and shows her great respect.Orcs come from a different planet,so they dont really giv a shit bout elune, but she still loves everyone.I would love to see Elune coming down from the sky while a epic battle is raging, and she would start singing her song and bring peace, that would be epic.
what if elune was actually a naruu?
Arozura She probably hates the legion.
soulessENERGY probably,they suck.
This makes me weep for the Night Elves.
I love this, its such a magical and beautiful song, really brings you to a peaceful place!
wow... just wow.... very nice. it is very beautiful
excellent work....if someone does not call this epic...he must have no soul
i luv this, awesome job
Such a calming type of song
knew this before I found it here... goosebumps.. again.
ahh my favorite quest areas are the ones linked to Night Elf Lore, just love them
The high elves (Quel'dorei) had already been exiled from the NE society for a looooooong time before they turned into blood elves. The reason why they renamed themselves to Sin'dorei (Blood elves) was to remember their brothers fallen in the Third War against the Lich King. It also matches the moment when they turned to the Horde for help and started using Fel energy for their magic.
hmm maybe I should leave the sound on in game more often lol, this is beautiful
I'm really glad you liked this mix. I've been really busy, but your comment got me to finish extending the Kun-Lai Summit theme as well. Check it out!
It's the Night Elven symbol from Warcraft III. When the Night Elfs still strived as the independant immortal souls they used to be. Most of the game. Lore stuff.
Ahhhhhhh it really gets the feeling that they have a deep history
nice work shadowsnstuff.... excellent.... you should be in the digital music industry if you aren't already... :-)
This.. is... amazing... WOAH!
I loved the original, but when I hear this version, It just blows me away.
I imagine a nightelf druid standing on a path in the forest, she is listening to the sounds. this sounds awesome
Suddenly, being a nightelf just took on a whole new meaning.
Heh, back when I was playing WoW whenever this song started up as I was leaving a zone, I'd circle back around. Dailies and what not can wait, epic music now.
this perfectly describes my beloved elves always fighting so beautyful and enlightened by elune the moongoddess
So many chills.
AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing... Just amazing...
So beautiful... so emotional... so exotic...
Wooooow :O holy smoke. Added to personal playlist. Nuf said. Thanks
RIP Ysera. You did not deserve that fate. 😭
this is too good to be real.
here are the lyrics which i got from the non-extended version of this song. these are in orde so you have to listen to which point in the song has the words since the person that uploaded this didn't include lyrics in the video.
nordrassil
zin-azshari (glory of azshara)
quel'dorei (children of noble birth)

elune adorei, elune adorei (elune be with you x2)
*upbeat music*
nordrassil...
elune...
zin-azshari, zin-azshari (glory of azashra x2)
...adore (be with you)
How can anyone not like it?!
Beautiful...
I just play WoW for fun, however, I have been looking for Nightsong for awhile now and I do think it's a very good piece of music not just for a video game, but overall.
I love the night elf race, I love this song too, inspiring and peaceful sounding at the same time.
I was your 100th sub!
Fantastic version! I'd buy this from Itunes!
Beautiful. Nothing else to say.

Tears well up everytime I hear Ophelia's voice.
first time i heard this song was won of my magical moments
@Seth Eheart im horde and i still like this better than lament of the highborn.

One of the best soundtracks OF wow.

i hate wow but i love this

Valerie Jenice yea now you can set it for your garrison!!! its absolutely amazing
Elune be with you all, and may your day shine with hope and joy...

@Ryloth33 Epic? this is not epic.... THIS IS LEGENDARY!!!!

epix! awesome work :)
EPIC MUSIC!!
My faction is the Horde because i was born Sin'dorei, but my Kal'dorei brothers will be always in my heart.
I find Night Elves, sort of traitors in a way. I mean it was the Night Elves, combined with, Orcs, Trolls, and Tauren of The Horde, and Jaina's Human Forces that helped take down Archimonde. proud to be a night elf the first people to exist in warcraft
