    Just a quick FYI, Lightburn recently raised their prices and the cost for anyone using a Ruida style controller will shell out $120 for the software (Windows and Mac versions).

    What is the measuring tool you used in the beginning of the video. I think it measures the depth of the wood. We just bought an xtool and I want to get my husband a few accessories and I know he doesn’t have that measuring tool thing.😂

    Hi Pete! Great video! My husband and I are in the process of choosing a laser to purchase. We saw bad reviews on the Laguna but watching you (and a couple others) on TH-cam, we can’t see what the issues are. Truly.
    We have a Laguna bandsaw and honestly, we love it. We call it “KC.” Why? Because it slices thru wood like butter … and I have a love of Karen Carpenter whose voice, to me, is smooth like butter. Since the name Karen is now negatively used, I would rather call the bandsaw KC, over Karen.
    Thanks for your videos … they are keeping the Laguna laser on our serious consideration list!

    • @pTreesWorkshop
      @pTreesWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m glad you got some good info out of it! And yes I love this laser. No real issues with it. Works as it’s supposed to. I already want to get the bigger one because my ideas are getting bigger haha. And KC the bandsaw is great. Laguna makes really nice bandsaws. Best of luck with the search!

    Hey there, longtime woodworker and CNC (router and plasma) guy here but this is my first laser. I would love some help with setting on the rotary. I have the exact same laser but tumblers aren’t as clean when I burn the image. Would love to help you in some way as a return favor.

    Great video Pete... I have watched several videos on 3D CO2 lasers, this scales up there. I am looking to get into the CO2 laser space but just can't seem to get a handle on how to get started especially giving the investment on hardware. Question, do you offer any lessons for beginners to this field? Thanks

    You gotta stop with the laser video's... You're talking me in to buying one even more than myself. Great work. Is your garage heated/insulated? That my only problem right now, mine is not... But I guess the laser could go in the basement with the cnc. Do you wish you could have gone the next size up with the laser?

    • @pTreesWorkshop
      @pTreesWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sorry that I keep posting laser contact! The garage does have a heater in it but it’s only on when I’m in there. This winter was a little challenging because we had some cold nights, but I insulated the shop and that helped a lot. I would sometimes have to preheat it at night and by the morning it was still above freezing. And I’m really glad I went with the size. It really got me started in the hobby however I am looking to upgrade to something bigger now. But it was a great investment and it’ll help me subsidize the cost of a bigger one

    FYI, there's masking tapes you can put on your piece before lasering so you don't have to fight the residue from the process....now get off the laser and get to the lathe. I keep telling everybody there's space for an entertaining woodturning UTuber--nothing against any of the ones we all know, but a little humor never hurt anybody...watching a chunk of wood spin just isn't that entertaining.

    • @pTreesWorkshop
      @pTreesWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha and thanks for the tip. I use masking tape for burning wood. I found that on the tumblers, the residue around the area is not the issue, its right where the laser burns, that needs to get cleaned either way. but I guess it wouldn't hurt either!
