- In this episode of Hermitcraft season 10, Mumbo builds a gigantic industrial gold farm that produces thousands of gold per hour. This giant automatic Minecraft gold farm will then be connected to an automatic piglin bartering farm, which will generate lots of leather for my shops in the Hermitcraft 10 shopping district.

Im just gonna say I've seen Xisuma's perspective, and this is a much funnier way to end the Episode. With no context whatsoever, Grian is given a "Hit the Button" opportunity, takes it, and ends up blowing both himself a Xisuma up, with no opportunity to elaborate or explain his train of thought.

And iirc the entire problem with his slime farm was it was about 2 blocks too high
It wasn't really to high, but also it was way to opened for slimes to properly spawn within the farm space
This latest season of mumbo just enjoying the game is the best. He’s still making crazy redstone contraptions, but the flavor in each episode now is incredible. I can’t wait to see more!
I love the 9 double chests for storing gold blocks shadowing over the 2.5 stacks of gold blocks.
The shop idea has genuinely been such a fun thing to watch people have to harvest and sell resources they don’t even like or need lol

In all fairness it probably would have worked on a single player world where there wasn’t a bunch of people sleeping the night away I mean the idea had to have some merit for it to end up being so game changing with such a minor tweak of a roof and a lighting fix
@@Everythingisnumbers Nope; server members sleeping had nothing to do with it. I heard Doc mention in a video or stream that the reason Mumbo's slime farm never produced a single slime is that the spawning floor was a block or so above the spawning range. Now if he'd built it at an appropriate Y level, then yeah, _that_ would have worked even if not the most efficient, and thus it never would have captured the attention and imagination of the tech community the way the absolute lack of output did.

2024 netherite hoe - the best, most usefull and diverse tool. Worth the grind to get.

As someone who's been playing since 1.7.10, Mumbo's confusion about hoes now being the tool to destroy mushroom blocks is so very valid. Remember when the fence recipe kept changing? Ay...

12:10 To answer your question- yes, it is a hoe for the shroom lights. You can also use a hoe to quickly mine the 'leaves' (wart blocks) of the nether trees (big fungus) if you ever need any of those. Which might come in handy considering your shared permit with Grian

As someone whose color pallet almost always consists of warped stem, having a good diamond/netherite hoe is a lifesaver

A way to get item frames renewably/reliably:
if you get a cartographer to expert, they're guaranteed to trade an item frame for up to 7 emeralds, so until you get a farm up you can just use the cartographer(s)

Mumbo! Use a hoe on the Shroom Trees! Minus the wood (which needs an axe), it breaks everything quickly! The mushroom lights AND the wart blocks! Also leaves!
the thing is he could of spent like 2 minutes to see what tool is the quickest and he would have saved at least half an hour
yeah the hoe can break certain blocks fast, these blocks include: nether wart, shroomlights, hay bales, target blocks and more

Hey mumbo just a quick thing but damage explosion damage is calculated from your feet so when there are blocks in-between the bed and your lower half you take minimal damage. The time you died your feet just were in the "shockwave" of the explosion

Mumbo putting all this work into a gold/piglin bartering farm when all he needs is a simple 5 minute hoglin farm for leather is just so Mumbo.
He also needs gold, so I think it makes just as much sense to make a gold farm and a bartering farm as it does to make a gold farm and a hoglin farm.
Everyone needs a gold farm in minecraft. It doesn't have to be automatic, but you kind of do need some controlled way of gathering gold.
@@thylacina5989 For gold sure, for leather though, not so much. He will likely still need to build the hoglin farm for leather since bartering isn't a great way of getting enough to stock an item frame shop.

I know it's probably been said before, but I _love_ the Season 10 aesthetic. The chapter title cards, the musical choices... it's like what if Wes Anderson made Minecraft, but with a distinct Mumbo feel. It also feels classy but much less effortful than some previous seasons' general feel. You've really nailed a distinct look and feel. It's a pleasure to watch.
It was always a pleasure to watch - you're literally the first Minecraft channel I ever watched - but now it's a _pleasure_ to watch. If that makes sense.

Can I just say, the... cinematography? Minematography? The in-game camerawork this episode has been brilliant! The way you set up the perspectives for the farm-building segments to look almost like an orthographic drawing and the contrast between the well-lit blocks and the red nether sky, along with the analogous yellow and red, is fantastic!
Mumbo IS a professional filmmaker after all :D
A couple things about blowing up the nether (and stuff in general):
-All explosives, including beds, do damage to you based on if they have a line of sight to the *bottom half* of your hit box. If you place literally any block, like netherack, between you and the explosion, you will take no damage, even if the explosion destroys the block between you in the process
-Where the bed explodes from isn’t in the middle of the bed, it’s actually in the half of the bed that has the pillow
-Technically, but very rarely, netherite *can* spawn in higher up levels, as long as it’s not exposed to air. You did actually have a chance of finding netherite by just removing that area at the top of the nether, it’s just quite rare

Not just the bottom half of the hitbox, the very bottom of it. Your F3 coordinates are your location for the calculation, and they are at the *very* bottom, just above the block you are standing on. A fun fact most people don't know, that's actually where the players camera is located, but the world is rendered as if lower down so it looks correct. That's a very old quirk that will probably never be changed.

Maybe you guys are over complicating things, literally just place bed in front of you vertically, move a block behind, and then place any block in front of your legs it will almost negate all damage even if you have no Armor.

I have an idea for how you can prank Grian and become powerful along the way. Basically, there's this concept in American law called "eminent domain". It's complicated, but basically, the government can force you out of your land or property and use it for their own purposes if it is for public benefit. Because Grian has chosen to make his Permit Office useless, you could form a government, and argue that you can take the Permit Office from him to serve a more beneficial purpose, because in its current state, it isn't helping anyone. You could create some kind of ultimatum. Either Grian makes his Permit Office properly functional, or, you seize the property and he can say goodbye to it, replacing it with something better. Best part is, you get to decide what it means to be better, so you could put a bouncy castle there instead and decide as the leader of the government that that is more valuable to the public. This could all be done in a fun, light-hearted manner.
I like that he filled the signal crafters with cobblestone lol, I learned recently that you can just click the necessary slots to emulate a full signal strength.
I just watched a bunch of Hermit videos in a row and you can tell Mumbo is a cinematographer because the audio is just on another level 👌

For future reference Mumbo, just place a block right in front of your little feetsies between you and the bed. For whatever reason, blast damage is calculated through the toes, which is why your strategy mostly worked up until your toes weren't blocked by standing far enough away from the bed inside the blast zone.
The whatever reason there is that right between the feet is where the game says a player is at. Your position pretty much has to be a single point, after all. For something targeted in a straight line, like a sword swing, you can use the hitbox to calculate a hit, but for something like an explosion, you need to calculate a single distance from it. Trying to calculate the closest point of the hitbox would take ages. So it uses the player position to determine where you are in relation to the explosion.
Which is funny because he pioneered using end crystals in the life series and figured out this exact mechanic. He just didn't make the connection that it works the same for beds.
