There is something glorious about living in an era where "slightly old, faded technology shop" is not just a concept of the far future, but is actually a thing that we just know about in real life. Even if many probably got a start as an electronics repair place, the fact that "old, faded computer repair/supply shop" is a thing that makes sense as being and feeling "old and rundown" says a lot about how far computers have come.

I'd love to see Scar's reaction to Big Ron's redstone shop. For us technical types, getting into creative building can seem overwhelming. Seeing that we're not alone in that feeling and seeing the "figuring it out" steps Mumbo goes through is really motivating and shows that anyone can learn how to build with the best, it just takes time and experimentation
honestly i'm not a technical player (redstone scares me) but i've never really put much time into building either. seeing mumbo go throw the same awkward "figuring it out" process is really comforting ig
I was not expecting Mumbo to be that good at art lol. He's winning everything this season, selling out constantly, doing great builds, and now being an art genius or smth.
That concept Art is extremely good, is there anything Mumbo can't do Filmmaker, Redstone genius, terraforming, building, storytelling, designing business cards and title cards, etc. He's incredible
Big Ron’s shop is so inspired. It feels like a really lived-in world building place. Also, you can color water in cauldrons, it’s such a minor detail but you could make the water in the drain look nasty.
Oh so on top of filming and photography, Mumbo is just CASUALLY crazy good at graphic design and designing a building and just perfectly drawing it like that without even a visible big "I have to re-do this part" moment. Okay. It's hard not to be jealous rn
Mr Mumbo "now, I'm not a builder" Jumbo, i gotta say you're absolutley doing bits rn. i have genuinely learned a couple of things from big ron's that i'm gonna use also i loved the business card! each shop with it's own little card, or poster would be so cool. something that sells the story of their personality that bit more
0:35 When he opens the door manually only for the pressure plate to close it in his face, so he has to go back and try again, is the perfect description of my life in general
Omg, the "art mode" in the background during the drawing... It hit the corner at 2:55. Such a small but epic detail to add, it's those things that make Mumbo stand out in a crowd. As well as how genuine he is with these builds, they are getting really good.
I remember a couple seasons ago when mumbo said he wasn’t really a builder, and now he’s doing concept art and everything! Keep it up mumbo, I love the stories behind all your builds!
Did anyone else notice Mumbo lingering on the “do not leave outside” box when talking, as if asking us to notice his funny jokey detail without having to explain the joke (since that makes it less funny)
Mumbo, i doubt anyone is reading this but when you were making those boxes, i think the beehive blocks look good as boxes because it loooks like they have lids if you face them the right direction! (Its the craftable beehives btw not the ones u find naturally)
Can I just say how much I love the funny callbacks on the title cards, like the ODEA handbook, rich list, and Sahara coin? The callbacks to previous seasons always make me chuckle and I hope you continue to include them in this season's episodes.
The concept art and graphic design is probably making this Mumbo’s best season on HC (since season 7 when I started watching). It helps highlight that outside of Minecraft he is an incredibly talented creative professional. I’m a videographer myself and the more that side of Mumbo comes through the more I love it!
Mumbo i just wanna say, I can tell you are a lot happier with the new format and how you're doing things now. And its showing in the quality of the videos and I am enjoying them immensely. Please keep being you!
I think one of the most satisfying things is to see Mumbo slowly become an amazing all-rounder. redstone, filming, building, art, and other creative and healthy thingies he has yet to show. Mumbo, you have generally amazed me and become a sort of model/inspiration for many.
at this rate, I think Mumbo can teach a lot of builders a thing or two. Excellent conceptualisation, analysis, scope, experimentation, and iterative design process. 9/10
1:22 I never realized the level of detail in these backgrounds theres a sahara coin, a scarland ticket, and a mumbo for mayor sticker in one corner a permit for being the richest hermit in another and some binary code for grumbot

@@TheBartholomewJinPing it definitely did We all know the waffle has the power of art. And since his moustache has the power of tech HE'S UNSTOPPABLE!!!
So I want to comment on the genius of the Business card. Ultimately a building is made up by a bunch of factors. And one of those factors is the owner. Yeah leaving boxes outside is one thing... but by designing the business card you had a very VERY clear idea of who Ron was. And that lead you to decide to do the 1.25 blocks on the roof as Big Ron isn't going to pay to repair his roof, and likely contributed to the O falling down from the sign. The concept art shaped the idea of a shop.... the business card shaped the owner, which in turn shaped the shop more.
I love how you can actually feel how much fun Mumbo is having while building this. It like, really hit me when he talked about the overflowed grates and using mud to show it, and it's just made me smile lol
In hindsight, it would have been really funny if one of the letters in big Ron's was not lit up by glow ink sacks, so it looked like it had burnt out. I love how much of an amazing builder mumbo has become!
I don't usually comment on anything and there's literally no way you're going to see this, but Mumbo, your concept art is immaculate. As an artist who struggles to draw backgrounds, it is actually so amazing to me that you've just done that. It is genuinely *so* good I cannot stress it enough. I love the colours and all the texture that was put in to such a simple drawing. The lines are completely straight (as I'm assuming you likely used a tool), and yet the fact that they overlap and continue at certain points where they shouldn't somehow adds so much more character to it. It looks amazing and I hope to see more concept art-type stuff because WOW. It's messy in the beautiful kind of way, and it's your's. :D
Exactly! I love how he's started to work on a smaller scale and put a story into his builds. Honestly starting to like Mumbo's building style more than Grian's.
The tribute to Bob Ross is perfect, years ago in a live stream you wondered how 50% of your viewers don't play MC. It is the same as the people watching Bob that don't paint.
16:44 - Never knew about GSM, but in summary its: GSM stands for 'grams per square metre' and refers to the weight of the paper. The heavier the paper, the higher the number of grams per square metre - and, generally, the higher the perceived quality of the stock. This is sometimes referred to as the paper's 'grammage'. Source for the internet, copied and pasted. Thank you Mumbo for teaching me something new today :D
To be fair, GSM is a lot more logical than the American standard of paper weight, which is just "pounds" (of what? copy paper is typically rated as "20lb", but _how many sheets_ makes that up? and what size, legal, 8.5x11, something else?). Having the weight be that of "one square meter" of paper is unambiguous.
Most traditional artists will also be able to tell you about paper weight because it matters hugely to the type of medium they use, whether it’s watercolour or acrylic paint. Paper can also come in gloss or textured finishes. The more you know!
“High definition general doodle capture device” is what im calling art streams now I genuinely love your journey through the creative process! You did so so good!
Anyone else feel like the hermits took a class in between seasons on how to add details to builds? I love how much more details hermits are adding to their builds to make stories!
Mumbo leaning full on into his artistic side is incredible and I'm absolutely here for it. Also just for consideration: The crafted beehives also look a bit like cardboard boxes so maybe for future builds with decorations like that you can consider those as well!
I have been playing minecraft for 13 years and have considered myself a "builder" type player that whole time, and it brings such a big smile to my face to have watched Mumbo for so long and taken a bunch of redstone stuff from him and now I am getting to watch him and take some building things away, feels so cool.

You know after 7+ years of playing Minecraft consistently, you would figure someone would get good at building. And Mumbo, you have exceeded our expectations, great job
11:20 I think it would be pretty funny as well if the 'o' wasn't glowed like the redstone isn't activated. I saw the consept art as like a japaneese city building, so now that sign is permanently neon in my head.
Mumbo, this is my first season watching, and I ADORE that this is how you do base lore. By obsessing over every detail, and designing business cards for guys who don’t exist in the block game where you are god of a portion of the land.
Let me just say, I think that Mumbo this season is the hermit that I'm enjoying the most. I've been here a while - since before Mumbo was a hermit, and I've seen almost all of his videos. Between season 8 and season 10, it's so awesome to see how much he's branched out in building... but all of us should agree the real star of the show here is his editing. This video was the most quintessential mumbo video I've ever seen. This feels like mumbo at his peak, good job!
I am convinced "BIG RON'S" was once called "BIG IRON'S" and only sold irons for the first couple decades - but then, as technology advanced got more and more stock of other items.
new headcanon: Big Iron was actually Big Ron's grandpa, and the store used to sell cast iron household appliances (I'm thinking coffee grinders, dutch ovens, etc) and then ron inherited the store and updated it to more modern electronics

I'd love to see Scar's reaction to Big Ron's redstone shop. The environmental storytelling is fantastic with the upside down boxes and the sign falling down and everything
Also, I love seeing Mumbo's build process unfold.
10:12 Mumbo: "I'm not sure how I feel about the diorite mixed in..."
Iskall: * heavy breathing *
the hopper with raindown is sucking bird poop instead of water
Iskal actually likes polished diorite
I was not expecting Mumbo to be that good at art lol. He's winning everything this season, selling out constantly, doing great builds, and now being an art genius or smth.
So true!
@kraykyle ISTG WTF
Very late but SAME. I was so confused for a min like "um did mumbo commission someone??? I didn't think he was that good" lmao
That concept Art is extremely good, is there anything Mumbo can't do Filmmaker, Redstone genius, terraforming, building, storytelling, designing business cards and title cards, etc.
He's incredible
You forgot to mention his beautiful bushy mustache
And he has great knowledge of vehicles. Plus, he's well-traveled.
He can't stop himself from pressing shift with his thumb
Big Ron’s shop is so inspired. It feels like a really lived-in world building place.
Also, you can color water in cauldrons, it’s such a minor detail but you could make the water in the drain look nasty.
Only on bedrock
mumbo: makes big rons
tango: hey...that name looks awfully familiar *flash back to season 8 with big eye-rons*
I’m glad I’m not the only one haha
waiting for the lawsuit
im literally rewatching season 8 atm and just finished the episode with the banners...
Tango pls sue Mumbo for copyright
Oh so on top of filming and photography, Mumbo is just CASUALLY crazy good at graphic design and designing a building and just perfectly drawing it like that without even a visible big "I have to re-do this part" moment. Okay. It's hard not to be jealous rn
FACTS‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
7:10 "I'm trying not to panic... but there's a small amount of panic"
clips that for greater goods.
they should make a horn for this
@@siavashdadgar9269 yes that would be so good
Mr Mumbo "now, I'm not a builder" Jumbo, i gotta say you're absolutley doing bits rn. i have genuinely learned a couple of things from big ron's that i'm gonna use
also i loved the business card! each shop with it's own little card, or poster would be so cool. something that sells the story of their personality that bit more
We are actively watching Mumbo Jumbo the Redstone engineer have his building arc
0:35 When he opens the door manually only for the pressure plate to close it in his face, so he has to go back and try again, is the perfect description of my life in general
Mood
Omg, the "art mode" in the background during the drawing... It hit the corner at 2:55. Such a small but epic detail to add, it's those things that make Mumbo stand out in a crowd. As well as how genuine he is with these builds, they are getting really good.
It made my day seeing that.
Woah….
i ignored the art to watch the art mode to see if it would. probably the best part of my day thus far.
I saw that too and was gonna make a comment about it. Looks like you beat me to it.
2:55
The art mode thing bouncing around the screen like the DVD logo hits the corner.
Happiness has been achieved.
Was literally about to comment the same thing
"I'm trying not to panic, but there's a small amount of panic." Ren, Mumbo's got a new horn for you.
7:10
ren? don't you mean cub? cub's the one actually making and selling the horns
@@truncatedGrip my bad! Thanks for the correction! I get them confused sometimes, as I watch them less frequently. 😔
"sometimes jokes subvert your sandwiches." Shaking my head, but can't help laughing. It takes the point home.
I think it’s a reference to Frozen
sandwiches = engagement 😂
I think Big Ron's is where Etho does his computer purchases. 😂🤣😂 Mumbo, all you redstoners are just such good builders too. It's awesome to see.
Headcanon accepted
I can imagine an Etho armorstand going shopping there
I just realized that Mumbo's side of building started to show up a lot more in this season and so does Grian's redstone
I had this exact thought too
yup, was looking for this comment
Definitely, I think the dangling O sign needs to not be glow inked as its electronics have broken
“Not an artist” he says, and then pulls out an entire building that actually looks good
Can I just say how much I love the funny callbacks on the title cards, like the ODEA handbook, rich list, and Sahara coin? The callbacks to previous seasons always make me chuckle and I hope you continue to include them in this season's episodes.
I knew i had seen the Laggringsilo somewhere before
Can someone translate the binary on that section?
@@adrianpaulochoa9825 I think it’s at 3:41
@@melmac15 I miss my dads
There's also a Mumbo for Mayor pin and something to do with the "richest hermit"
The concept art and graphic design is probably making this Mumbo’s best season on HC (since season 7 when I started watching). It helps highlight that outside of Minecraft he is an incredibly talented creative professional. I’m a videographer myself and the more that side of Mumbo comes through the more I love it!
Mumbo's been killing it this season so far with the concept art, title cards, and all that. Just silly little fun additions, you love to see it
Honestly
@@Ivanfesco- I think so too
Mumbo i just wanna say, I can tell you are a lot happier with the new format and how you're doing things now.
2:54 bouncing “art mode” text perfectly hits bottom right corner
Baseball Crowd reaction meme activate.
8:18 "Is this a box" he says... Look around! It's minecraft! Everything's a box here Mumbo
at this rate, I think Mumbo can teach a lot of builders a thing or two. Excellent conceptualisation, analysis, scope, experimentation, and iterative design process. 9/10
Mumbo absolutely KILLED it with the isometric art. That thing looks AMAZING
1:22 I never realized the level of detail in these backgrounds
theres a sahara coin, a scarland ticket, and a mumbo for mayor sticker in one corner
a permit for being the richest hermit in another
and some binary code for grumbot
It's not a scarland ticket, says season 2 on it which is when mumbo joined hermitcraft
@@Reignbow42 ohh
the binary actually says something
Also an ODEA booklet
Theres also a instruction book for odea
It all started as a small storyline from stealing Grian's soul to get rid of his "you are what you eat" situation
Now it seems he actually has gotten better at building
Does Mumbo eat Grian to get better?
@@0topon No, but he did end up wth a Waffle.
@@JasminemPolyanthum which might added to his building being better
@@TheBartholomewJinPing it definitely did
We all know the waffle has the power of art. And since his moustache has the power of tech HE'S UNSTOPPABLE!!!
he also didn't build the back... he really is turning into grian
7:40 mumbo's just ignoring the spacing block
First Mumbo unconciously transfers Idea to next season as Odea
Now Big Eye Ron lost its eye and became Big Ron
In hindsight, it would have been really funny if one of the letters in big Ron's was not lit up by glow ink sacks, so it looked like it had burnt out. I love how much of an amazing builder mumbo has become!
Yes
Mumbo Jumbo!!!Your building skills have evolved over the years and now you’re nearing the moustached builder and I love your new bases
Ignore the comment above this
The video was released 4 minutes ago dude...
@PastelLavenderYTi dont care
It’s a comment in general not just about this episode
Exactly! I love how he's started to work on a smaller scale and put a story into his builds. Honestly starting to like Mumbo's building style more than Grian's.
Mumbob Ross needs to become an official Mumbo nickname
Mumbob the builder
These are both good
Mumbo Jimcasso.
Mumbob Killsalot Ross
The small story about the Ron business cards.
it just made my heart so warm😭
idk why😅
Mumbo: Gets a whole mail tutorial from Pearl
Also Mumbo: Still forgets to read his mail.
you were also waiting for him to see grains potato i see
I have it in my head that mumbo actually owns big ron's and is letting him keep going at a loss just because he loves the charm of the place so much
The tribute to Bob Ross is perfect, years ago in a live stream you wondered how 50% of your viewers don't play MC. It is the same as the people watching Bob that don't paint.
having just enjoyed watching the VODs of those livestreams many years after they were streamed, i 100% agree
Oh so Big Ron’s is Bob Ross… idk how mumbo managed to sneak this one by me ngl
I love how mumbo is litterly thinking about every block he spejd a solid 10 sec on the first block he placed
16:44 - Never knew about GSM, but in summary its:
GSM stands for 'grams per square metre' and refers to the weight of the paper. The heavier the paper, the higher the number of grams per square metre - and, generally, the higher the perceived quality of the stock. This is sometimes referred to as the paper's 'grammage'.
Source for the internet, copied and pasted.
Thank you Mumbo for teaching me something new today :D
Following from this. If it's low, it your typical tracing paper and classic A4 and the higher it is, it things like crafting paper and business cards
“High definition general doodle capture device” is what im calling art streams now
I genuinely love your journey through the creative process! You did so so good!
Anyone else feel like the hermits took a class in between seasons on how to add details to builds? I love how much more details hermits are adding to their builds to make stories!
Bdubs effect
4:44 mumbo explaining his jokes is my favourite thing
Mumbo leaning full on into his artistic side is incredible and I'm absolutely here for it.
Also just for consideration: The crafted beehives also look a bit like cardboard boxes so maybe for future builds with decorations like that you can consider those as well!
I have been playing minecraft for 13 years and have considered myself a "builder" type player that whole time, and it brings such a big smile to my face to have watched Mumbo for so long and taken a bunch of redstone stuff from him and now I am getting to watch him and take some building things away, feels so cool.
So many people are making LA-Japanese-dystopian-punkish builds. I think the magical mountain group could just become part of the suburbs of the Blade Runner city that Dubs and Imp are working on.
Goshh I LOVE all the fun Hermits are having this season. Mumbo's concept art and stories for the builds are so lovely; I genuinely enjoy all of this sm
The way you gave a bit of back story and have a reason for the place existing is my kind of lore. Loving season 10!
Mumbo has genuinely improved so much as a builder, especially when it comes to texture, soon he'll be the best builder in hermitcraft
He is progressing, and that is evident. He has a long way to go, though.
Seeing the concept art and the time lapse of you making BIG RONS is my favorite part of the video and I haven't seen the whole thing yet
And he didn't remember "Big Eye Rons", a shop from season 7.....
15:36 yoel is gonna have a field day with these bulk packages
3:13 is no one gonna talk about how good his artwork is? This actually looks great and has a lot of attention to detail
Yes, I really would like a download of the full res art tbh
You know after 7+ years of playing Minecraft consistently, you would figure someone would get good at building.
And Mumbo, you have exceeded our expectations, great job
11:20 I think it would be pretty funny as well if the 'o' wasn't glowed like the redstone isn't activated. I saw the consept art as like a japaneese city building, so now that sign is permanently neon in my head.
Mumbo, this is my first season watching, and I ADORE that this is how you do base lore. By obsessing over every detail, and designing business cards for guys who don’t exist in the block game where you are god of a portion of the land.
Ron's been in business so long that he still remembers " 'Ello, everyone, this is Mumbo here!"
7:50 sonic: i do not compare to you.
The random glitching block: i am superior in every way. Mentally, physically and minecraftally
at 7:32. Mumbo: intently designing his build. Me: intently staring at that one dancing block.
Mumbo subtly flexing new skills by implementing them into his Minecraft episodes is something I both appreciate and am impressed by.
Seeing Mumbo's beautiful builds this season after the amount of artist block he had gotten in season 9 is so inspiring.
I think Mumbo might be one of the most relatable builders. I love seeing him build even if it’s out of his comfort zone. ❤️
I genuinely love the tech store build, the little details to everything make it so cosy along with the small backstories :0
@@catboygremlin Thats even better!
Big Eye Ron's was a shop that sold iron in Season 8, owned by Tango.
8:14 all I could focus on was the brick block going crazy XD
ART-CAM 002 was an insanely fun thing to see, i love the isometric view!!
Mumbo should do more Mumbo Ross segments!!
or generally just show off his art more
2:54 art mode bounces perfectly into the corner
Mumbo’s new editing style is so clean and inspired. The *temporary pic for reference thing was oddly satisfying. Hopefully your next museum exhibit appreciates how your gaming art is always evolving.
Rons little shack is probably the single most impressive detail-oriented build I've seen from mumbo.
"Sometimes a good joke subvert your sandwiches" is honestly a great saying
1:43 Wow, I loved that sketch sequence and the final picture looks awesome!
