My mother who loved opera with all her heart introduced me to my first attendance prior to me becoming a teen.. I am now in my mid 80s and when listening to opera my eyes water up with memories of mom turning up the old zenith and the Saturday Metropolitan broadcast.. Thanks Mom.

Try a search on Amira Willighagen and Laura Bretan for starters who started as young as 9 years old and are now accomplished performers . Judging from the number of comments on here you are joining a large number of others.
beauty and ugliness is the difference in the quality of a wavelength (not the wavelength itself) its the difference between smooth and jagged, this music is so smooth it epitomizes aesthetic. Wonderful when used as a background of the jagged rattle of the keyboard at work.

I live in the armpit of the country, Albuquerque, NM. Thank goodness for the web, else I'd never hear or see anything of quality or tradition. I grew up in NYC, I used to save my allowNce and my part-timemjib checks and spend it all on season tickets for, the ABT and for operas... I saw all the big broadway shows with all the best stars singing in them. I miss it all, this is the closest I'll get, now. If you live there, don't ever take it for granted. The only way I'll ever get to see Hamilton is on film, and I'm sure the cameraman will tell us what to look at instead of letting us decide. If you live in one of the coasts, make use of it.
