Glad I found your video showing how bendy the band is, just bent the shit out of the band to hopefully relieve pressure. Hope it helps cause they sound great for gaming on my xbox!
They sound really good while you're recording a part of it on your Mac. So much more compared to the Sennheiser. I had to re-watch this on my PC with my good headphones
They do provide the splitter cable needed for PC. However, you need to purchase the PC "version" of the headset directly from Astro. You can still choose the colour of the headset. They just bundle the cable with your order, it's not even included in the box XD
That headset mic actually sounds better than that studio mic (mostly for the fact that that studio mic picks up most of the background sounds as demonstrated earlier, I know you can fix this with noise cancelling insulation, but I can understand if you can't afford that either) You have officially convinced me to pick one of these up once I have the money!
I have a big head and am prone to headaches when the cups apply too much pressure, it's the main reason I switched from Sennheiser PC 360s to Astro A40 a few years back. I'm really happy with the change.
I won a pair of A40's at PAX Prime 2015 that came with the Mixamp. The mic was awful. Both mine and my brothers. Thankfully I used a Blue Yeti.. so I didn't use it much.
I've been using A40's for over a year now and they not only sound brand new, including the best headset mic I've ever heard or used, but they look brand new as well. I don't think I could ever go back to any other brand after my experience with those.
Can you do more of these, where you just bang headsets against the ground. Durability is one of the things I really look at when buying headsets. This was really helpful.
Did you put any gain on the mic and edit its volume afterwards? cos that initial mic test sounded pretty awesome, although the mic didnt like the bestting to much it turned a little noidier afterwards. It seems like im cursed whit the mics, now thinking about getting a 300-500$ recording solution, just coz everithing else i have tryed keeps the volume so low, or adds so much nois/hissing that i get crazy....

Inexpensive, within my budget & I think I might have to buy 1 for my very encouraged aspiring young TH-camr cub one as well. The way You stretched/twisted the band was the seller..or keeper rather! That part gets destroyed quicker with the kids big ass noggin lol an upcoming birthday deserves a good headset is there a reason why the cord is detachable? Assuming a replacement fix is better than purchasing another headset.. If thats the case, well as many headsets I go thru, between kids & dogs getting to it, then that is the #1 main thing I applaud next to its durability ! well.... that was funny, after watching 5 reviews on this headset with them all doing the same bending you so far have been the first to bend them completely out of shape without bouncing back
Just ordered these to replace the garbage HyperX Cloud Core from Kingston. Went through 2 of those headsets in 8 months. Sound wise, they were good but the wiring was shit awful. The wire that connected to the controller wasn't replaceable so after it went bad 2 TIMES. Hopefully these have better build quality and are more durable.
I've had this headset for about 3 weeks and this video was randomly in my suggested videos on the right when I'd never even looked up astro's XD Good to know that they'll stand up to a good beating though, as that's been the issue with my previous headsets is I'll get up and catch the cord, or I take it off just slightly wrong, and the thing would snap on the sides above the head pieces.... Don't think these will do that :p
that next tier jumps to +$200 ... but the survival of the device definitively kicks kraken's ass... man this would really set back replacing my keyboard...
In my case, now it's a toss up between the Arctis 3 or the Astro A10. Anyone want to help me out? I recently got into streaming and am looking for a headset with good mic quality and sound quality. I like the Arctis for the look and retractable mic but the Astro's are more wallet friendly. At this point do you think it's mostly up to preference or will the $20 or so difference be noticeable?

The A10’s have amazing sound quality for the price but they are somewhat uncomfortable when you where them for a continuous amount of time👍
