Wow 🤩! I’ve been to Málaga airport numerous times but never actually explored the city itself. This place is amazing and the architecture is beautiful and intricate. What a great place to walk/hike around. Views are stunning and comes across as a very tranquil place to be. Totally admire your energy getting around this places! Thanks for sharing 🙌❤️

The Alcazaba was a fortress designed to protect the town and its leaders in case of attack. Its narrow streets full of nooks and crannies made it very difficult for horsemen to climb them and Arabian soldiers could easily hide and attack the enemy from above. There is also a path that connects the Alcazaba (at the foot of the city) with the castle of Gibralfaro (above the hill). This road is double walled and was an escape route to the castle, the last refuge if the enemies managed to conquer the Alcazaba. It worked so well as a fortress that the Catholic Monarchs could only conquer Malaga by besieging it for a long time, without allowing food or weapons to enter it. In fact, Malaga was not conquered with weapons by the Catholic Monarchs: Malaga had to surrender after months of siege due to hunger and disease.
