It’s worse because it is more often and thus more water retention -making it worse overall even if it doesn’t look like it because all you see is the top layer of soil or concrete but not what’s happening underneath.

The weather here has an important year to year variability. Some years it happens more and some others it happens less. There are events with a recurrence period of more than 100 years and still they are normal for our weather

The earth has experienced drastic weather changes since its inception. IMO we have just speeded up the process by our reckless behavior. Years ago I found petrified bones of an extinct sea animal 2 hours inland confirming for me that once this area was underwater as it will be again one day, not in my lifetime but definitely at some point. There is a lot of factors at work that exacerbates the severity of floods, especially in cities and coastlines.
WHY NOT USE, THE SOUTH AMERICAN GOLD YOU STOLE. TO MAKE NEW STREETS.
i bet , hardly any of this water will be collected, saved , retained in tanks, lakes containers, reservoirs.
