These KChat sessions were far more clever than anybody gave them credit for. I had friends who played the game and never even listened to the radio. There are soooo many subtle jokes and moments that just land so perfectly on the hilarity scale. And the voice actors are all great! They really got into their characters and gave life to the fictional city. And to think all that effort and hilarity just to give the in world game of vice city more personality. And the VCPR segments as well! And chatterbox in the third GTA. All Genius! Bravo! Bravo!!!
Exactly! Everbody always talks about the music, and that's okay, Vice City had the best music in all of GTA imHo. But Public Radio and especially K Chat were pure genius. I loved driving around town to V Rock, and switching to K Chat when something happened that required my attention. Great memories.

It's not ahead of it's time, it's that the Karens and old people of society are still saying the same garbage and complaining about the same things for the past 35+ years. Only difference is you only had to deal with it if you listened to AM talk radio or late night talk shows back then. Now we have 24 hour cable and social media full of it.

Other youtube videos of this game have good quality, so it's by no means due to the "oldness" of the game. They knew how to make good digital audio in 2002...
Mythix2 I would imagine talk radio would have compression. All real radio stations have a compressor. Good ear. It does also sound like there's audio artifacts so it's also probably a low quality file too.
