    Yup. According to Pokemon Legend Arceus, Pokemons don't turn into energy but they shrink themselves so small that they fit inside the ball. It was said by Professor Laventon, who speculated that Pokemon themselves posesses this odd power and people only use it to catch them with pokeballs.
    FunFact: The era of PLA may dated back to the late half of the 19th century (judged by the Victorian architecture and the "Weezing chimney"), but not more than 300 years from the present (based on what the ghost girl says about the first sealing of Spiritomb).

    10:41 Or maybe drayden didn’t have pokeballs in his time because they hadn’t gotten to unova yet
    Is that so far out of the realm of possibility yet that different nations advance at different rates I mean Europe and China and Russia etc was already super advanced before the US was even discovered yet so it’s not like it’s unrealistic
    It’s possible unova was just the last region to catch up just like US was irl
    How is this something no one has considered
    It’s not that confusing just logical

  • @3oct1111

    The time period or Arceus is more recent than it seems at first glance, falling into the equilant of the later half of the 1800's to the early 1900's (1870ish-1925ish).
    Add on that Unova is in the equilant of New York to Sinnohs Hokkaido and it makes some sense that Drayden didn't see pokeballs untill he was a boy

    So you mentioned that the PokéBall shrinks down Pokémon to allow them to fit inside, but what I think is even weirder is that PokéBalls can then shrink down themselves, including the Pokémon inside a second time, to allow it to be stored on a belt around the trainer’s waste.

    Okay so I actually had a theory pertaining to the Voltorb line based around the information of the pokeball.
    Now go remember that Kantonian Voltorb is a pure electric type. And his Hisuian Voltorb is a Grass/electric. So basically by theory is that after the invention of the pokeball voltorbit turned into this form. But it started out as a pure grass and looked like apricorns.

    I assume then the Poké Ball from the Celebi movie was one of the first kinds of Poké Balls that was produced. There are still some weirdnesses, like the giant Jigglypuff and Gengar that were locked in something resembling a Poké Ball. Maybe Poké Balls were a lost invention that was rediscovered? Or maybe Game Freak just throws all the shit at the wall and keeps what sticks.

    Just a little bit of extra information… In S21-E39 of the anime “Dummy, you shrunk the kids” Faba makes a revolutionary machine that allows you to see a little bit of the tech in a pokéball. The shrinking effect is lightly based on the move “Minimize” which increases evasion by shrinking the user down, the machine then pulls the target into the ball and regrows it after it is thrown with the button pressed. Faba’s machine is much larger and has reusable capsules, but expands the target range from Pokémon to inanimate objects and even humans.

    The Accepted version of pokeballs that I have seen is that it abuses the Evolution mechanic. When pokemon evolve they temporarily turn into an energy being, then reform in their new form. The pokeball bombards the pokemon with energy similar to that which makes them evolve, then captures them. They exist in a kind of limbo until released. Time inside the ball still passes, however cause of the state they are in, they cannot really think or perceive time or age. This also fits with the multiple cases in the anime where pokemon have repeatedly been shown as remaining inside the pokeball for hundreds of years without any averse effects.
    Within games and movies we have seen other variations of this where special crystals or stones are used to create the effect. It's implied that in earlier pokeballs, these materials are placed within the pokeball shell with the shell adding additional effects.

    I like the way the Apricorn balls look. I need to watch that Pokémon episode to see how the balls are made. I didn't know it involved using a stove and having blacksmith skills. 1:41 I think this game takes place in the Meiji Period, probably around of after 1888 since handheld cameras were a thing (although I think they would be a little bigger than what was shown in the game). 2:21 Are you sure he wasn't talking about modern Poké Balls? That would make sense. If modern Poké Balls were made in 1925 than what kind of Poké Ball was Young Professor Oak using in the movie? It didn't look like an Apricorn Ball. 3:12 Which Professor Westwood? There are five generations of them.

  • @JadeMythriil
    @JadeMythriil 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My assumption for the Pokemon shrinking ability is that Pokemon could be holding some form of energy within them and the more energy they have the larger they become and the less energy the smaller they might become. Alpha Pokemon causes Pokemon to grow larger than normal possible because of a surplus in energy given to them. Even in dynamaxing the Pokemon are temporarily infused with so much energy they become giant some might even change form from it.
    The amount of energy could also dictate their age which is why younger Pokemon are smaller versions of the older ones.
    PokeBalls could be making use of this fact by manipulating the energy to allow them to shrink into the PokeBall.

    theoretically Pokeballs use the fact that everything is energy and energy can't be destroyed. It only can be shifted. So as i mentioned everything is energy as far as i know, cern told us that. The tiniest particles are made out of nothing than energy. THEORETICALLY you could shift the pokemons energy into the ball with some kind of advanced or maybe ancient technology.

    The lore in the new games just doesn't make sense if you think about PC storage. If they shrink in size rather than become energy or data, then how the heck are they able to be sent to the PC, even while the trainer may have caught that pokemon in the middle of nowhere, or how can the balls shoot lasers in the anime to recall a pokemon back to their ball. Many things just don't make any sense if Pokemon are not energy or data, for example in the past I thought that the reason why an already caught pokemon, could not be caught by another trainer, was because the pokeball they had been originally caught in, marked them somehow so that other pokeballs, were prevented from being able to recatch them, until Team Snagem found a way around that with the snagballs, I also thought that the balls themselves, had some kind of a behavior modifying function, since caught pokemon become docile, while wild pokemon are mostly aggresive, and the only reason why traded pokemon may disobey their trainers, is because the ball they were originally caught in that marked them, belonged to someone else, which is why the behavior modification which could be almost considered a brainwash, does not affect them as much and you have to prove yourself, with badges or accomplishments to earn their respect. Them being data also made me think that it made perfect sense, on why pokemon could spit fire or water or whatever element they used out of nowhere, since they used up their energy for it which is why moves have PP. I think that the reason why Pokemon in these later years, are focusing on expanding on the pocket monsters origin, is because they don't want to be compared to Digimon which are digital creatures that originally come from PCs.

    • @JoeDirtisawsome
      @JoeDirtisawsome ปีที่แล้ว

      they become energy and then they shrink in size. Just because they can shrink by themselvse, doesnt mean they're not still energy. Pokemon are still energy, the games constantly mention how infinity energy is the lifeforce of pokemon and this lifeforce was uses to power the ultimate weapon in X &Y, pokemon were killed to power New Mauvile, and it was mentioned in ORAS that infinity energy is used in the pokeballs
