The game literally tells you some of these. The deku stick/fairy? A Gossip Stone near the castle tells you. The Sun's Song poem tells you to bring calm to the restless souls who wander where they don't belong.
Also when you first learn the Sun's Song and head back out all the ReDead are frozen - the game doesn't just tell you, it literally shows you its effects when you learn it.
Lol Link drinking "Poe Soda" I did do this once because I was wondering and it gave me 2 hearts I never used them again though. Don't want Link to get POEssessed or something.
The baby dodongos probably eat the naturally growing bomb flowers... before they're primed to explode. You're throwing fake baby bottles that explode... you monster! Also... Deku nuts don't hurt Ganon, the Light they produce does.
Drinking a Poe has one of 5 effects. It'll either do nothing at all, heal you for a heart, hurt you for a heart, fully heal you, or leave you with a quarter heart. Edit: I actually didn't know that drinking a Poe could refill magic, so I wonder if perhaps the 'nothing at all' effect was actually nothing, or the effect of a Green Potion. I also wonder now if there might be 6 effects, or if the full heal is always the effect of a Blue Potion.
7:49 Red / large Fairies DO have wings, even in the image you posted. Their light is just much larger, which obscures the wings. 7:57 You cannot "farm" the red / large Fairies in Bottles. Use 'em or lose 'em. 8:23 This works on ANY cow, not just those at Lon Lon Ranch. You can even get Milk from the cow in the grotto just before the eruption gauntlet at the top of Death Mountain. 15:43 The reason this works is because the Ice Arrows were the original dungeon item from the Shadow Temple in the game's beta build. Likewise, the Fire Arrows were originally found in the Water Temple. The developers just never removed the Ice Arrow mechanic from the boss.
1: I as the editor put it there since I found a picture contradicting him :P 2: Funny enough I didnt catch this myself since I never was able to grab the buggers.. that explains it. 3: Yep yep. 4: I thought so too.
@@lpfan4491 It actually does help you win easier, since bongo bongo opens his eye when he's trying to break the ice. That way, if you just try to guess where his eye is, you can skip having to damage his hands and having him fly toward you
I always use the Ice Arrows against Bongo Bongo when I get the chance, especially in randomizers. One thing you didn't notice is that when Bongo Bongo is trying to unfreeze his hand, his eye is open so you can attack him quicker than hitting both hands.
So the deal with Bongo Bongo's hand being frozen, his eye actually opens while he is trying to break the ice, allowing you to immediately knock him down for an opportunity to damage him.
4:31 I am sure the guard wouldn't be fired in this case. He would be reassigned to a new position. To Kakariko, Graveyard, ~ 2 meters below the surface. 17:06 You can escape the wrath of the Cucco Horde (which is not in *every* Zelda Game after OoT as it's notable absent from some such as TP) via another method though. Use Hookshot or Longshot to pull yourself to a sufficiently far-off position. For some reason the enraged chickens aren't programmed to attack the player character but a map area. So you will be safe and can watch the Cucco going ham on nothing.
A lot of people talk about how playing the Song of Storms to a Gossip Stone will cause a big fairy to spawn. But does anyone ever talk about how playing Zelda's Lullaby to a Gossip Stone will cause a standard fairy; the kind that can be bottled as a pseudo-extra life, to spawn?
For some reason he says bug fairies have no wings while showing a big fairy with wings. Also he says it's a good way to farm , even tho you can't bottle big fairies
I think most songs will. Sun's won't if time holds still in your present area (since it respawns you) and Saria's might not either, but Epona's definitely does.
The game is so abundant with secrets, glitches and just cool stuff that it would be difficult to get everything I'd want to say into a single comment. So instead I'll just add a few tidbits onto things that have already been covered. -In the Ganondorf fight you can: Destroy the blocks with your Megaton Hammer, stun Ganondorf during his charged multishot attack with a Light Arrow or by returning it with a Spin Attack, and finally you can Hookshot him once he's on the ground to quickly cover the distance; although this appears to make the window to attack much smaller and isn't an actual viable strategy. - In the Ganon fight I believe ANYTHING that functions as a weapon (including Young Link's gear) can be used to deal damage to Ganon and will in fact do equal damage (with the sole exception of the Master Sword which does more damage and also MUST be used for the final blow to finish the fight). -If you bomb a Gossip Stone to initiate a countdown you can interrupt it with your sword as it flashes red or blue to cancel the countdown and maintain the colour it was showing at that time. - The Megaton Hammer's ability to uproot Mad and Deku Scrubs extends to Skullwalltulas and Deku Babas as well, but what's even more interesting is the sheer range of the thing. You can uproot enemies from a ridiculous distance (basically half a map away), You should try it out in Kokiri Forest.
The butterfly following your stick and turning into a fairy, I always thought it didn't work. I don't remember it was one of the gossip stones that said it, or it was in a guide, but it definitely wasn't just some random person trying something.
a myth is any story told to explain a phenomenon. it's approximately the same as a theory. but in common parlance, a myth is either any story, or anything untrue.. so yeah that's a trick.
The 'butterfly turns into a fairy if it follows your stick' is probably a reference/callback to how in Super Mario 64, punching a butterfly would turn it into a 1-Up.
@@drwily Yep. I used to wait for Mario's idle animation to turn into him sleeping while next to the Piranha Plant at Whomp's Fortress because I liked the song, the flowers, and the butterflies.
The mentioned ways of fairies to spawn with the Song of Storms reminded me of another use of the Song of Storms involving fairies. The trees in the Desert Colossus area, did you notice the dried up basin near them? If you play the Song of Storms near the basin, it will fill up like a spring, and then fairies will spring from the top of the water. Is it perhaps the ruins of an ancient Fairy Fountain? At the very least is a dried-up oasis, but the fact that fairies spring from the water that pools there makes me wonder.
I didn't realise most of these were considered myths, I had definitely known a lot of them from personal experience. There is actually one way to defend yourself against the cucco storm though. Epona. They can't hurt you if you're on Epona.
yeah i grab a wide range of claims but with a game like this finding stuff that is completely unknown is impossible, also i got that on the list for the next one
That is an editor thing I did. I found a picture with it having wings... (wouldn't it be funny if I put it there and contradict him?) But in game you barely see em.
@@kotlolish Fair enough ^^ Tho it won't be impossible wings actually exist but are hidden within fairies body! (i thought about that) If they forgot to switch wings placement on the big fairy, it's totally possible wings exist but inside their bodies! lol
You also can't catch these big Fairies in your bottles! The spots they appear will be hinted at by Navi hovering near them and turning blue, but there aren't any lines of dialogue from her to indicate what she's hinting at; one of them is by the big flag on the way to Goron City and Death Mountain.
Zelda's Lullaby fixes signs in Ocarina of Time for the same reason the Wind's Requiem fixes signs in the Wind Waker, and actually for the same reason the Song of Healing fixes signs in Majora's Mask as well. These three songs are their respective games' designated 'do the thing at the place to make something happen' song.
2:40 After catching the Hylian Loach you dont even get to display it... The dude says it's endangered and throws it back in the lake... After like 3 hours of trying to catch it...
Ok I googled it to make sure I didn't imagine it... yeah I didn't imagine it... he threw it back. Probably cause the fish in the tank is all the same model, and just the size changes with weight... they never programmed the loach into the tank!
Even though it isn't meant to be possible, the Megaton Hammer even works on the Deku Scrubs that serve as mini-bosses in the Deku Tree, which otherwise can only be hit with their own nuts. Business Scrubs and Mad scrubs can be hit with other attacks like projectiles or even jump attacks if you're positioned well before hitting A, but the mini-boss Deku Scrubs are immune to most weapons. The Megaton Hammer doesn't work on the three right before Gohma though, because those have an order and the Megaton Hammer makes them all pop up at the same time, which I assume the game treats as being hit in '1,2,3' order.
Hylian loach is very easy to catch if you first get the sinking lure. You get the same reward, and you don't get to keep the loach regardless, so it's effectively the same
how I killed the skull kids for the big rupee was frantically swing at them with the Biggoron sword without targeting and including quick spins. They do allow you to get close to them sometimes especially when they're busy trying to shoot beans at you.
Wait! Hol' up! The loach doesn't just naturally spawn just when it's early dawn? Is that something the randomizers simplified? I could've sworn that it was as easy as walking into the pond shortly after the cucco announced the new day! Is it a randomizer change, a vanilla thing, or am I just exceptionally lucky now?
I found it plenty enough as a child, though i want aware of any time to get it. I think there's just a chance it will appear after you've visited enough
If you stay there long enough for it to start raining, you'll hear the loach coming to the surface to breathe with a little *pop* sound. If he's there, so is the Sinking Lure. I'm pretty sure he'll appear the first time you enter as an adult.
I'm not sure which version of the randomizer you're on, but on the 8.1 version there's an option for "easier loach spawn" where it's always in the pond

Where were you when I played this at 6? I'm pretty impressed older games have so many secrets 😮. It's almost like people were excited and passionate about making games, not just a paycheck.
Bro this game has soooo much, also I'm glad you enjoyed it, making mythbusting videos on games this well known can be tough because so much is known already
You can farm gold skulltulas in the hole right beside where you go into hyrule castle as a kid. You have to time it right but you fall down, kill the skulltula, throw your boomerang to collect the token and before the boomerang comes back to you, backflip out of the hole. If you time it right, you'll get the token and if you fall back in the hole, the skulltula will respawn and you can do it again.
I think the lullaby fixes signs since to reach Zelda it requires maps and directions for first-time players, so the developers reasoned that it was reasonable to consider the lullaby as a navigating tool 12:30
one of the stones that tells you things when wearing the mask of truth, thats where the butterfly stick fairy trick comes from. one of the talking stones near hyrule castle says it. 👍
14:20(ish) - maybe Fire Arrows dont work so well, but you CAN kill the Skull Kid for a Huge(200) Rupee...but if he 'flips out' like that, just move to another section of the Lost Woods and turn back-- no need to exit all the way to Kokiri Forest to respawn him...
The one obscure thing from Ocarina of Time that blew my mind was early in the game, where you need to break into Hyrule Castle and speak with Zelda for the first time. Normally, you just climb up a vine, and you're past the gate. But if you are unable to figure out that you need to do that, the game has an alternate path. You can eventually bribe the gate guard 10 rupees to have an attempt to get past the guards and reach Zelda.
The Butterfly to fairy effect can be found in the official Nintendo Guide book. I had one for MM when I first got the game on N64, but I could never get it to work because I was an impatient little brat. lol Much to my surprise, it works in OoT too, so the DEVELOPERS were the ones who originally discovered that mechanic. ...As to WHY it works, who knows? Maybe the Deku Sticks are holy or something because they're connected somehow to the Deku Tree and he's where fairies come from? IDK.
#19 i ONCE caught a really big normal fish, and the game actually said "this fish is so big it won't even fit on the screen!" i've also heard that the TIME OF DAY when you enter the fishing area affects how big the fish are...i'm not sure if it's true. #14 in Majora's Mask, if you drop a bomb near a Gossip Stone, it will shoot up into the air like a rocket! i'm not sure if that also happens in OOT... #13 that actually works with ANY cow, ANYWHERE, not JUST in Lon Lon ranch!
I can't see any evidence of the fish getting larger, as all the fish are scripted. The largest fish iis the one near the poking out log, child or adult, and it only grows once you catch it the first time and store it in the tank
The largest fish in the pond will get larger if you've already caught the largest. I think the big one is ten pounds, and once you've caught him, left the pond, and returned, the big one (by the sunken tree) is twelve pounds. The Fishing Guy says "Wow! That fish is huge! It's a real lunker! It won't even fit on the screen. It's got to be at least 12 pounds."
Cool video. I really appreciate the fact that you pronounced skulltula correctly. Some of these younger people who weren't born when the game came out pronounce it skull-tool-la. It just kinda erks me a little. You earned a sub with that one. Keep up the good work.
There is. The sign in front of the pond tells you that you can’t use it though. HOWEVER, if you talk to the owner before using it he gives you permission to use it, just this once, allowing you to fish in the deeper area of the pond and catch the loach or a bigger fish for the aquarium/records.
@@adammaynard5683you can get it every time after you catch a fish or a certain size. He doesn't let your keep any fish from it in the tank though I also don't think any of the fish down low are actually bigger than the largest fish best the log that sticks out
No joke when I was a kid I was playing Zelda while my uncle was off at school and he came back home and I was really proud to show him this really cool fish I caught Turns out it was the hylian loach. I had been running around in the fishing pond (no rumble pack) and just randomly picked up the sinking lure and buy pure luck cast in the perfect spot in the perfect timing and I caught the loach. His jaw about hit the floor, in the roughly 8 years since the game had come out that he had played it he had never caught it, but I did just by pure chance 😂 I've never caught it again though, in any other save file or on the 3DS. I've never even found the lure again
The lure tends to be in different places, I’ve found it most of the time by the rock outcrops, and I’ve found that it’s easier to do a forward roll by them to find it.
Here's a neat little Easter egg in OoT: both Skull Walltulas and Redeads react to swift motion. If, while you are climbing vines, a Skull Walltula turns purple and locks onto you, you should be able to convince it not to attack you simply by holding still. I don't recall the exact method, but that's what I remember. As for Redeads, walking slowly past them instead of running past them will cause them to completely ignore you.
The Mario Peach Luigi and Bowser window I found on my own, and also found out about the Rupees in it because I thought I might break the window to get a better look XD.
what's funny, is if you can get an adult dodongo to eat a bombchu, the game can either crash, or unload a load of actors for whatever room you go into next.
"because if something happens to her, he is 100% fired" Ah, yes. Fired. Yes, that's what would happen. Super totally seriously not executed, only fired
Good video. I grew up with the game, so I already knew all of these. It was a different time back then, when you had limited internet access, and only a handful of games to choose from. I would print a list from cheatcc and then test them all. One thing I would like to test though is using the infinite sword glitch to hoover in Zelda's Courtroom after the guard throws the bomb. Probably leads to nothing, but I'd like to try it.
The butterfly fairy trick is a SM64 reference as there are butterflies in the meadows of certain levels. If you slowly have a butterfly follow Mario they would turn into a 1up or even an electric chomp/amp
Deku Nut is a God-Tier item when inside Jabu Jabu's belly. It can pop bubble enemies (which makes the timed room with the multiple bubble enemies a cinch) and one -shot the jellyfish that protect Barinade once they become vulnerable to attacks.
Here's one I discovered when idly messing around. If you set off a bomb near a Gossip Stone, it will start blinking Blue and Red. If you strike the stone while it's blue or red, it will stay that color. If you don't strike it after bombing it, the Gossip Stone will eventually launch like a rocket and fly away.
17:51 That's a trick I remember using a lot when I was a little boy. In the original 64 version of OOT, if you repeatedly hit the floor with the Megaton hammer, the merchant scrubs will repeatedly rise from the ground, it's quite funny.
love seeing old myths and debunkings resurface time and time again. Gives newcomers a chance to find out things that older fans might have seen years ago! The big fairies that spawn are not something you can bottle, sadly. But they DO offer a full heal and magic refill, so they're good when you're in a pinch! There are a bunch of places they can spawn too, such as the flag near the rolling goron in death mountain trail. It also needs a song of storms to spawn!
19:34 Actually, you got healed twice in this video from those poes. When you started talking about it, you healed 1/2 a heart. You then say the part about drinking loads of them. Only to then heal 1/4 of a heart that second time. Something to note though... They can't heal you for more hearts than you have already taken damage... So of course they aren't healing you very much. But that mana refill is a nice addition, even if it does only heal just 1 heart max. (Not sure on how many it actually heals though. I used to use this method, but it's been a looooong time.)
While the hook shot doesn't return Ganondorfs blasts, you can actually hook Gannon with it to reach the center pillar. But it's faster to jump while you can. The gossip stones hold a few more goofy secrets. If you hit one with your sword it tells the time. If you hit one with the mega ton hammer it smashes before springing back into shape. If you hit one with a bomb blast it begins to count down and change colors before blasting off like a rocket. Drinking poes, at least from my experience, are designed to be a losing gamble with the effects varying depending on how many you've consumed and sometimes which ones. The first one recovers a heart, the second takes 2 hearts, I believe a third heals magic, but the 4th leaves you on deaths' door with a quarter heart. Since you can only carry 4 bottles I don't know what happens after that. That's just drinking normal poes though. The aggressive poes are probably different and you can't drink big poes.
Depressing fact about the guard in the beginning of the video. The character designer mentioned that in the 7-year gap, he is longer in Kakariko because he got lost in the Lost Woods because he went in to search for his kid (the boy you gave the Spooky Mask to), who turned into a Skull Kid. Which explains why both of them aren't present in the Adult era.
For the Ganon fight if you equip swap a Deku Stick it'll deal as much damage to his tail as the Master Sword (with a jump slash) Regarding freezing Bongo Bongo, when he's breaking his hand free his eye is open so you can shoot it with an arrow (or the Longshot to keep the Ice Arrow equiped). Hope this helped. :D
As Young Link, there is a small hole outside of Hyrule castle that you drop into to get a Golden Skulltula coin. However, if you use the boomerang to get the coin and do a backflip into the light to return to the surface you get the coin, but you drop back into the hole you can kill the Golden Skulltula again. You must make Link go to the surface about the same time or right before the boomerang touches you.
The Hylian Loach doesn't require entering, paying, and exiting the Fishing Pond 4 times to spawn. You just need to enter during the cucoo's crow at dawn. During that couple of seconds, the Loach will spawn in the pond.
It actually isn't tied to time at all. The entering 4 times thing is correct. There were a lot of incorrect rumors in the past, but these days we have the exact lines of code that are responsible.
@@matirion Then tell me why between my Version 1.0 N64 cartridge, my GameCube Master Quest disc, and my GameCube Collector's Edition disc, every single time, without entering the Fishing Pond even once, across probably close to nearly 200 playthroughs since 1998, I have been able to, without fail, get the Loach to spawn without entering and leaving first. Multiple different versions of the game, released years apart from one another, all let the Loach spawn just by entering during the cucoo's crowing. Do not try to tell me that I somehow have the only copies of 3 different versions of the game that work differently, especially when I first learned about it from sites like Cheat Code Central- I don't advise using the site these days since when I last visited around 2011, it gave my computer a virus- back in the day.
@@drwily I already said I have 3 different versions. N64 1.0 Master Quest Collector's Edition The Loach spawning method is the same in all 3. Enter the Fishing Pond during the cucoo's crow.
@@ZeroFighterBecause you are wrong, no way around it. There quite literally is no version with code that checks the time for the loach. Going in at that time gets bigger fish, NOT the loach.
My favorite secret is Keese won't bother you if you have a skull mask on. It makes going through dodongo's cavern slightly easier cuz you don't have to worry about Fire Keese.
I didn't know the discount was real. You can get the shield for free anyway. I found the sinking lure but I never caught the loach. 4:06 I already knew about that. 4:27 I think he would be executed, not fired. In Majora's Mask the cow makes a girly noise when giving you milk XD. I like using the ice arrow on Bongo Bongo.
My brother and I were convinced there was a fishing rod upgrade called the iron rod or metal rod. We were convinced you had to go to the fishing hole, use the megaton hammer, and smack the log in the water at midnight. Unfortunately time doesn't really move in the fishing hole so I don't think it's possible
There’s a way to skip the child section of the spirit temple. If you use the plant flying thing. If you are able to jump on the rocks near the temple, you can hook shot both chests.
you can get the Hylian Shield for as low as 40 rupees even For the Skull Kids, you can only slash at them. Any projectile or jump attack will cause them to vanish. Bongo bongo will actually open his eye when he is trying to bust out his frozen hand! That is the chance to strike. "But as soon as I started drinking them, which is *possible*, and that blew my mind, I only took damage." Meanwhile the first one shown heals you.
@@markcullimore1 Yeah, but we're talking about buying it. It's in the one with a fairy fountain, second in front. There is another one somewhere but i forget where.
whoops missed that last thing you mentioned, also first thing you said i false according to my sources, second yup, third good point others mentioned it a swell
@@drwily I and others have personally experienced getting it for 40. 60 is the most common, but it can be up to 75 or down to 40. Heck, i thought it was just 60 until i found out about how it worked about 2-3 years ago since thats all i had ever got. Also, the game code itself shows the values of possible discounts, ranging from 5-40 in multiples of 5. I can show a pic if needed.
If you "rarely use" the Deku Nuts I implore you to consider them more often. They can make fights against enemies a breeze. It might also fix that "waiting" problem for some of them, like Lizalfos.
"If something happens to the princess, that guy is 100% fired." Oh you poor innocent soul. If only "fired" was the worst that would happen to that soldier if he literally ended the princess with a bomb. Let's just say, both real human history and the Shadow Temple are better examples of what would likely happen to him...
You already confirmed that trees with the dekunuts outside spirit temple give you rupees if you shoot them. But here is another myth regarding those trees: "If you hit the base of the trees with weapons like a sword, a bomb or the megaton hammer, the tree will fall and you can collect deku nuts from it." (I do not believe its true, but only one way to find out)
I read about the butterfly/deku stick combo. I saw a bunch of butterflies around Hyrule Castle where the guards never go. I thought it sounded pretty cool, so I try it. 20 MINUTES LATER and still either the butterflies fly away if I approach them, or I stayed still, but Link has idle animations where he moves around while bored. I think I may have been able to make it work ONCE but I can't even remember what I did so I can't replicate it T_T On a more amusing note, performing Epona's Song for just about any cow does work! There's even a few bombable areas (Originally they were impossible to know where without the Rumble Pack, or just a lucky guess) where you can find a random cow in one of those holes. If you're running low on hearts and have an empty bottle, free milk!
When you said the maximum is 20 Rupees and the minimum is 5 Rupees about the discount for the Hylian Shield, were you referring to the amount taken off in both cases? Because I'm pretty sure the maximum discount has you _paying_ 20 Rupees for the Hylian Shield. Either way, I know the maximum discount isn't 20 Rupees off because the last time I saw the discount applied (I wasn't the one playing) it was half off. The person playing had paid 40 Rupees. The myth about the discount not being real might stem from the fact that even with the flag set that applies the discount, the game will still throw up the 'you don't have enough Rupees' window if you try to buy it with less than 80 Rupees.
Ocarina of time is my all time favourite game. Always will be the most nostalgic to me. Number 11 I've never seen before.. amazing still new stuff after all these years. I love it ❤

That's how we get our milk in California
Actually, it's not every cow, just most of them. Some cows here and there don't give milk.
You can also get a cow in your tree house for that reason.
Link's tune makes them climax.
The game literally tells you some of these. The deku stick/fairy? A Gossip Stone near the castle tells you. The Sun's Song poem tells you to bring calm to the restless souls who wander where they don't belong.

So the deal with Bongo Bongo's hand being frozen, his eye actually opens while he is trying to break the ice, allowing you to immediately knock him down for an opportunity to damage him.
yeah no true, good point
Pretty sure assassinating the heir of a kingdom wouldn’t just get you reassigned
Hold up, just reread your comment, never mind
@@DelthinTheRanger Thank you anyway. Without you I wouldn't have realized that I wrote 'save' instead of 'safe'.
@@catriamflockentanzI guess my task of correcting an error failed successfully then?
I find the fact that they're just programmed to attack an area of the map instead of the player to be more hilarious than it probably should be lmao
I do, I do that frequently if I need a fairy.
I made frequent use of that in my playthrough
For some reason he says bug fairies have no wings while showing a big fairy with wings. Also he says it's a good way to farm , even tho you can't bottle big fairies
I think most songs will. Sun's won't if time holds still in your present area (since it respawns you) and Saria's might not either, but Epona's definitely does.
The skull kid did a backflip and disappeared because you got too close to it
Or because he took to long
The game is so abundant with secrets, glitches and just cool stuff that it would be difficult to get everything I'd want to say into a single comment.
All of these things were in the Prima Strategy Guide for the game. All the young folks don't know about these magazines :P
Oehhhh yeah those are ancient by now hahaha
6:55 Deez Nutz... 😂🤣
Don't know why I laughed so hard at that... 😅😂😅
I'll see myself out
Your the second person hahahaha
I feel these shouldn't be called myths if they are mostly all true. Rumours, maybe, but not myths. Nor were they really busted.
It's just blatant clickbait, even he knows it's just for getting attention out of the title.
a myth is any story told to explain a phenomenon. it's approximately the same as a theory.
but in common parlance, a myth is either any story, or anything untrue.. so yeah that's a trick.
The 'butterfly turns into a fairy if it follows your stick' is probably a reference/callback to how in Super Mario 64, punching a butterfly would turn it into a 1-Up.
Wow sick you can do that?!
@@drwily
Yep.
It ain’t new news
I didn't realise most of these were considered myths, I had definitely known a lot of them from personal experience.
There is actually one way to defend yourself against the cucco storm though. Epona. They can't hurt you if you're on Epona.
yeah i grab a wide range of claims but with a game like this finding stuff that is completely unknown is impossible, also i got that on the list for the next one
7:50 "they don't have any wings"
Proceed to show fairy with actual wings (tiny for that big fairy! yeah but existing)
That is an editor thing I did. I found a picture with it having wings... (wouldn't it be funny if I put it there and contradict him?) But in game you barely see em.
@@kotlolish I believe they only have wings in the 3D remake, not in the original.
@@kotlolish Fair enough ^^
Tho it won't be impossible wings actually exist but are hidden within fairies body!
@@hanburgundy4317 This is correct, not I feel like I have to correct you because Navi turns green, not blue lol
The thing that teaches you the sun song basically says that it will stun the redeads so no it isn’t an Easter egg or secret.
yeah i kind of heard that my bad
4:25 Scratch fired. He would get executed!
Zelda's Lullaby fixes signs in Ocarina of Time for the same reason the Wind's Requiem fixes signs in the Wind Waker, and actually for the same reason the Song of Healing fixes signs in Majora's Mask as well. These three songs are their respective games' designated 'do the thing at the place to make something happen' song.
you can parry ganon's sword attacks if you swing at the same time as him, it will look red as if you took damage, but you wont
Zelda's lullaby is the ballad of the goddess (of time) in reverse. Lore wise , that may be the reason why it repair signs
While there’s a discount, there’s an even greater discount in the graveyard so I opt for that one.
6:53 Deez nuts hurt Ganon!
*The following are the musings of a Salty SEAGULL named EARL who just shows up in my posts whenever he feels like it!*

I did this as a child for a very long time, wondering if anything happened if you got 200. Nothing did.
I think the lullaby fixes signs since to reach Zelda it requires maps and directions for first-time players, so the developers reasoned that it was reasonable to consider the lullaby as a navigating tool 12:30
Title should be fun facts of Zelda OOT
But that isn't what we are doing, it's mythbusting
one of the stones that tells you things when wearing the mask of truth, thats where the butterfly stick fairy trick comes from. one of the talking stones near hyrule castle says it.
True true, but a bit too well known to be featured in a video
Also during the fight with Gannon (with the deku nuts), you can roll through his legs by doing a roll attack.
GANNON-BANNED
The Butterfly to fairy effect can be found in the official Nintendo Guide book. I had one for MM when I first got the game on N64, but I could never get it to work because I was an impatient little brat. lol Much to my surprise, it works in OoT too, so the DEVELOPERS were the ones who originally discovered that mechanic.
...As to WHY it works, who knows? Maybe the Deku Sticks are holy or something because they're connected somehow to the Deku Tree and he's where fairies come from? IDK.
Poes can heal or hurt 🤣
Awesome Video Bro!
#19 i ONCE caught a really big normal fish, and the game actually said "this fish is so big it won't even fit on the screen!"
i've also heard that the TIME OF DAY when you enter the fishing area affects how big the fish are...i'm not sure if it's true.
The "Rocket Gossip Stone" does happen on OoT as well.
I played the crap out of OoT back in the day, so I figured I'd know most of these. But there was a lot that was new to me! Well done!
Cool video. I really appreciate the fact that you pronounced skulltula correctly. Some of these younger people who weren't born when the game came out pronounce it skull-tool-la. It just kinda erks me a little. You earned a sub with that one. Keep up the good work.
There is or was a sinking lure in the fishing pond. It was very hidden in the back. I actually got it once as a kid.
There is. The sign in front of the pond tells you that you can’t use it though. HOWEVER, if you talk to the owner before using it he gives you permission to use it, just this once, allowing you to fish in the deeper area of the pond and catch the loach or a bigger fish for the aquarium/records.
@@adammaynard5683 yes. It's just hard to get.
true true this makes the hylian loach a lot easier
@@adammaynard5683you can get it every time after you catch a fish or a certain size. He doesn't let your keep any fish from it in the tank though
I also don't think any of the fish down low are actually bigger than the largest fish best the log that sticks out
Pretty sure you can't actually catch the large fairies, so you can't really farm them with the song of storms.
Other than the ones from the magic beans, of course.
this is on the list
6:52 GOTTEEM
No joke when I was a kid I was playing Zelda while my uncle was off at school and he came back home and I was really proud to show him this really cool fish I caught
Turns out it was the hylian loach.
I had been running around in the fishing pond (no rumble pack) and just randomly picked up the sinking lure and buy pure luck cast in the perfect spot in the perfect timing and I caught the loach. His jaw about hit the floor, in the roughly 8 years since the game had come out that he had played it he had never caught it, but I did just by pure chance 😂
I've never caught it again though, in any other save file or on the 3DS.
"because if something happens to her, he is 100% fired"
Ah, yes. Fired. Yes, that's what would happen. Super totally seriously not executed, only fired
It's a testament to how much work went into this game just how many of these secrets really exist.
Ah yes, I too enjoy consuming the lost and vengeful souls of dead Hylians from one or more of my three bottles.
I've been playing this game since 1998, and I never knew about playing music to make the bean grow tall and spawn fairies.
17:51
That's a trick I remember using a lot when I was a little boy.
"Because gambling is fun"
I knew I wasn’t tripping when I was like 6 playing this and got the fish 😂
How?
That one pose your avi does (where he puts his hands up in a T-pose and hair and eyes go all wild) reminds me of Alastor from Hazbin Hotel.
For the Ganon fight if you equip swap a Deku Stick it'll deal as much damage to his tail as the Master Sword (with a jump slash)
Regarding freezing Bongo Bongo, when he's breaking his hand free his eye is open so you can shoot it with an arrow (or the Longshot to keep the Ice Arrow equiped). Hope this helped. :D
7:45 If you play Zelda's lullaby, you get a normal fairy. Plus, big fairies heal magic too
As Young Link, there is a small hole outside of Hyrule castle that you drop into to get a Golden Skulltula coin.

Then tell me why between my Version 1.0 N64 cartridge, my GameCube Master Quest disc, and my GameCube Collector's Edition disc, every single time, without entering the Fishing Pond even once, across probably close to nearly 200 playthroughs since 1998, I have been able to, without fail, get the Loach to spawn without entering and leaving first.

You already confirmed that trees with the dekunuts outside spirit temple give you rupees if you shoot them. But here is another myth regarding those trees:
"If you hit the base of the trees with weapons like a sword, a bomb or the megaton hammer, the tree will fall and you can collect deku nuts from it."
(I do not believe its true, but only one way to find out)
You can also stun Ganon by shooting him in the face with the Hook/Longshot
didnt know that, might try it
@@drwily It is extremely brief, though
I read about the butterfly/deku stick combo. I saw a bunch of butterflies around Hyrule Castle where the guards never go. I thought it sounded pretty cool, so I try it. 20 MINUTES LATER and still either the butterflies fly away if I approach them, or I stayed still, but Link has idle animations where he moves around while bored. I think I may have been able to make it work ONCE but I can't even remember what I did so I can't replicate it T_T
On a more amusing note, performing Epona's Song for just about any cow does work! There's even a few bombable areas (Originally they were impossible to know where without the Rumble Pack, or just a lucky guess) where you can find a random cow in one of those holes. If you're running low on hearts and have an empty bottle, free milk!
Big fairies cannot be captured. They also only restore half of the full HP with fully maxxed out, BUT will restore the magic meter!
Hold on so baby dodongo's eat bombs but ignore them once they grow big. This shows zelda enemies are capable of maturity.
All I know is I remember it was 60 when I played, and when he mentioned discount, I thought of the 20rupee discount I got. Inconclusive!
It’s been so long since I actually bought the shield that I forgot that the discount even existed!😂
Was always 20 less to my knowledge - 60 from 80
