An absolutely stirring opening presented by the ABC production team. Frank Gifford’s cadence and rhythm combined with the iconic moments of Super Bowls past with Heavy Action providing the musical backdrop gave me chills (again).
I can’t sleep so I’m looking up NY Football Giants videos from SB 21&25. 33 years later I still get goosebumps watching this. Mark Bavaro?? He epitomized what those Giants teams were all about 👋👊👊👊👊👊
An intro done in a time of war. We came together back then. Whitney Houston sang the greatest national anthem ever. The Super Bowl made us forget about war for a few hours. The same for our heroes fighting. Thank you, America. By the way, it was also a great game.
Why can't we have intros like this into the Super Bowl anymore??? I mean... this gets you jazzed up!!! This gets you fucking hyped to just sit down... grab a beer, nachos and get ready to yell at the TV!!!
Plus this video doesn't even show the "Are You Ready For Some Football" song they did for this game too. But I'm fine with that. I've seen that part of it before. I hadn't seen this part of it.
@@TMC1982Part2 well yes, but the version played on ABC 1989 thru 2005 was Edd Kalehoff’s redo of heavy action. He did the MNF alt theme, the real version of the “NFL Primetime theme”, at the same time which was also used thru 2005. Later, Kalehoff also did a remix, called “Heavy Stuff”, in 2000 which was used thru 05 as well. ESPN then did its own versions of “Heavy Action” multiple times, in 2006, and again in 2011 and others later which were really remixes but used as the main theme. Johnny Pearson’s actual song “Heavy Action” wasn’t on MNF until ESPN started using it for some of their outros to break the last few years, as their credibility has declined.
It must have been extremely difficult for the 49ers and their fans to watch the New York Giants get introduced at this Super Bowl. The 49ers were absolutely expecting to be playing themselves going for an unprecedented 3-peat......TOO FREAKING BAD!!!! Even 30 years later it still feels so good knowing the Giants kept San Francisco from a historical feat that they wanted so bad! The 49ers won another Super Bowl 4 years later, but THIS was the one they wanted more than any other! SORRY NINERS.....Hahaha
I will never forget the excitement in my city leading up to the Super Bowl everyone was friends we were all family our Buffalo Bills finally made it to the Superbowl. If Only They would have taken the play calls away from Jim Kelly and had an offensive coordinator calling the shots we were wanted to scare him Jim made a lot of foolish calls
The Bills were facing a team which was the walking wounded from late in the regular season. The Giants were an incredibly tough and hard nosed football team that simply wouldn't quit. Had they been healthy, they would have mauled the Bills, just as the Redskins and Cowboys did.

Wasn't there a Hank Williams Jr song in the intro? Where's that part?
Block and taken out by TH-cam
This was the first super bowl with the MNF theme! There would only be 5: 1990, 94, 99, 2002, 05
Technically, it's called "Heavy Action".

Hey, that's the Downy commercial song playing in the stadium speakers!
The Memories!!!
It was the Giants' destiny to win this game.

And then the loser in Buffalos celebrated when the Bills got back

I’m a Giants fan and we were banged up but I don’t think we would have mauled them. This was the best bills team imo.
5:58 Cameraman: *HEY! Watch where you’re going!*
I don't wanna talk about this game specifically
BRRRUUUUUUUUUCCCCEEEEE!
And I am Springsteen.
The first time the big sombrero was ever full capacity
Back then many people didn't have cable or the internet so you had to watch it or else read a book haha
Do you have the ending with the Dances with Wolves soundtrack?
Yes at the end of this : th-cam.com/video/IQ_ZO_sViX4/w-d-xo.html
