I think the technical quality of Trippier and Tonali does enhance the team. Trippier was unlucky with the tackle as my view was he pushed the ball onto Grealish's thigh and it fell nicely for Grealish. Joelinton was essential to the system Howe played and did a fantastic job, notwithstanding the odd loss of the ball. Gordon was superb as was Lewis Hall.
The atmosphere on leaving SJP was good! After a defeat we all know how that affects the city and wider. But! To have held them to a deserved draw, was great!
Can't remember the last time I enjoyed a game like that, I thought we were outstanding. Hall was brilliant for me, fair play Eddie... looked like he still has the dressing room. Hope they can keep it going, next 3 games are winnable.
Strong performance and a well deserved point. Very good but not amazing. City are beatable as proven by Villa and Wolves last season. No Rodri in those games either. But it was impressive to get a result without Isak and Wilson.
Sean Longstaff first time shot without a touch had an XG of 0.2 so expect a player to score 1 in 5 attempts. Don't understand people saying it was easy.
Newcastle United's last home defeat was indeed the 2 - 3 loss to Man City Jan 13th 2024. We lost 5 home games last season. 2 in the UCL vs Dortmund and AC Milan. And 2 in the EPL vs Man City, Forest and Liverpool.
Solid effort from Newcastle- done alright there. Hoped u would've won- for urselves and also as a Liverpool fan aha. But oh well draw is not too bad, hope u guys have a good, decent season as well btw. All the best and good luck for the season ahead
Complete performance from Lewis Hall, glad Foden came on late as he changed the game. Great result and as good as I have seen us play against City, still think it was a second penalty.
Pleased they saw an opportunity ie no Rodri De Bruyne feel like we shud have even won but still fantastic result now let's see them do it gainst the teams at the bottom half of the table and not just the 'big boys'!!
I think the way some fans were going on after the Fulham game (and even before that!) was embarrassing. I've had to stop watching nufc youtube channels after we lose because of all the know-it-all, gobsh¡+e, depressing, dullard armchair-critics whinging on, saying what we should have done in the summer and what Eddie Howe should or shouldn't do. I guess there'll always be a percentage of people, in all aspects of life, who are entitled gobsh¡+es. It's tragic really.
And there'll always be your lot, show up at home for a draw and it's all sunshine and rainbows - happy clapping along as ever. The criticism was deserved, as is the plaudits for this result, the two things can be true at the same time.
Here we have it. I It's like you think you're morally "better than" me because I'm not acting like I would do a better job of running the club/managing the team 😂
It was a great response to last week's dreadful performance against Fulham, hopefully it can continue next week vs Everton.
