One thing about the Leeds relegation. In recent years they have often referred to the club, as being run to "The Leicester Model'. In regard's to player recruitment i.e. buy undervalued players, develop them and sell them on at a big profit. This year they appear to have taken it a tad to far.
As I see it, Tifo are entirely in their rights to end the podcast if that's what they want to do. They've been doing it for a long time and clearly want to try out something a bit different, in the same way bands that are expected to just keep on playing the same old songs, want to branch out and continue to follow their creativity, even if it's bound to upset a lot of their audience. That said (and I could be entirely wrong) but it sometimes sounds like you all put yourself down about the less slick, more insane style of podcasting. Sometimes it sounds like you feel guilty for derailing, as though it makes the podcast worse, or that you're somehow letting yourselves down. I think it's entirely fair to want to do something different but absolutely do not devalue the sheer brilliance of what you have here. Every week I listen, and I thoroughly enjoy the football insight you always bring BUT the sole reason I devotedly come back to this podcast every single week, where other podcasts I only ever occasionally dip into, is because of the chemistry, and left-field nonsense that elevates this show. I can rely on this podcast for that. I have no doubt Jon's new podcast will be brilliant, that it will have a strong audience, that I'll enjoy the episodes I, but I know I won't be eager to tune in every week. I'll pick and choose episodes based on guests that already appeal to me. I suspect there are many out there who will much prefer this new format, and I hope it does well, but don't look back on this podcast as some amateur, lazy, shoddy production or something. It 100% deserves far higher praise than that.

But the hilarious tangents and casual discussion of footie between all of you is precisely what makes the Tifo IRL Podcast such a gem, and a highlight of all of our lives! Take a long, much deserved sabbatical/break, holiday, whatever keeps all of you sane. But please continue to have these group podcasts! It doesn't have to be as often, but please don't end it completely. Give Joe a break, let different hosts take the wheel, but keep it going please! I like JJs ideas about dragons, its interesting that so many unconnected historic cultures have a dragon in their stories, can it be coincidence they all had a similar animal when they had little connection to one another?
Well in Asia they had the komodo dragons so I guess they kinda just expanded from there. Maybe there was a similar animal in Europe that we killed off?

Chelsea fans don't want an easy fix. We just don't want gutless people in the position. The vast majority of Chelsea fans were appalled when Tuchel was shown the door. Most wanted Lampard to stay before that. Conte sort of burnt his own bridge. Mourinho was popular before he was sacked too . Chelsea fans are totally happy with rebuilding processes and giving managers time, we are unhappy with the mad decision making that has surrounded the club since Boehly took over. At least when Abramovich moved people on the club got better the next season.

i do think that the whole "why support an unsuccessful team" is a take that removes a lot of nuance and passion from sports, otherwise everyone would support manchester city. every team has a story, a history, a personality and reasons to support the other than just "they have a good chance at winning the league"

On the talk around Leicester and Brendan Rodgers: apart from the influence he had on poor transfers, he also had unwelcome and lasting effects elsewhere. Our sports data team, who were very highly regarded, told him that our numbers suggested we weren't good enough this season. So he replaced them, and now our analysis isn't as good. Worse - he was told his training methods would lead to a large number of injuries, so he fired and replaced the medical team who had been the envy of the league. Before he came in it was freakish how quickly our players returned from injury and how few injuries we suffered. Under Rodgers - with his new medical team - we were constantly suffering from the worst injury crises in the league, particularly in defence. It became a running joke how quickly a player would "suffer a knock" and be out for "a week or two" only for the knock to turn out to be "worse than we thought" and for a couple of weeks to be a month or two. And then it would be "he's expected to return to training next week" for several weeks. And then they FINALLY return only to limp off injured after 20-30 minutes. (Pierera went through that cycle multiple times.)
Rush are well-known for time and tempo changes throughout, but I'd suggest Mr. Bungle in general, but "Carry Stress In The Jaw" off of their Disco Volante album.

Talking about tempo, Ferguson United teams changed tempo depending on the situation of the game and the opposition. The brain of the operation was the scholes, he would either slow or quicken the tempo depending on the situation. That is why Ferguson never played one style but a variety of styles.
