The Bass VI is the most underrated most versatile instrument ever. I bought my SRC6 after seeing your early video on it. I don't use it as often as I should as it's a remarkable piece of kit
It’s criminal that I can only ‘like’ this video once! This is awesome, literally evocative of the sensation of profound awe. Anyone who has experienced vast natural spaces and the phenomena such spaces contain knows such feelings. I am so glad that I have discovered your channel, sir! Thanks to you, the creative output for the remainder of my life can now have a musical underlay. I wanted to get into ambient music and will now postpone the midi controller and ante-up for that 6 string Ibanez bass. It won’t be like the beast your playing here, because I’m having trouble finding it… But I can get a SR 306eb in weathered black… It’s a start! Kudos!
This is amazing to listen to and mesmerising to watch. I could listen to this for hours and lose myself in somewhere else. Brilliant and thanks for sharing this
I have used my Aria fretless bass (medium scale) to produce some interesting ambient tones - sometimes in combination with the Gretsch guitar using a looper - it can produce some very interesting bass drones.
What I like about you Bill is your at one with your music its great to be able to close your eyes and know just where to put the Ebow keep doing what do 😊😊😊😊
I almost got one of these, but I did not like the guitar style neck and string spacing. I got a Firefly Baritone last time they were in stock. $179 and love it! Better choice than the squire bass vI if you can find them in stock!
ahh, Iridium is a total win to wrap up the character for this endeavour :))) , BTW: If you'd add some waveform modulation, preferably from any kind of wavetable (considering ambient soundscapeing), that would make a potent sample, which you can upload for a few bucks to synth sample sites, that could also add at least something to your 11 month plan. ;) May I ask: What is / are the unit(s) on desk behind your right shoulder, below the monitors?
Thanks for this. I see the AEROS looper on the floor to one side but unconnected. They have fixed the loop decay function to allow frippertronics. Have you tried it?
I recently updated my Aeros and have been working with it. The jury is still out for me on the loop decay feature, however, there are a bunch of great improvements overall.
Bill, I thought you said once that Ebows had difficulty exciting massive bass strings...are you hammering the strings down with the volume pedal "to zero" to get the string going then fade volume up and Ebow just has to maintain the momentum?
I love the concept behind the Bass VI and similar instruments but I just can't: too many strings, too close to each other :)) but each time I hear one I wish it was a more popular family of instruments
An Ebow, short for electronic bow. It uses a battery to generate a magnetic field that causes the string to vibrate without being plucked, resembling a violin's smooth sound from the use of a bow.
@@BoofyBoyo They are pretty cool. The smooth on and off is very nice if you are in to ambient. I don't think they tend to be very expensive either. Looks like Sweetwater has one for about $100. On Ebay there are some preowned for half that.
hello mate you could consider writing ambient music for video games, im playing a game now with ambient music that is similar to this but honestly its nowhere near as good as this, game developers could use your help - also movie soundtracks. start with reaching out to independent developers and producers if you are interested!
When the conception of this guy happened, the planets Eno, Vangelis, and Fripp were in alignment.

I bought mine after seeing his, too, but it quickly became my primary bass. I absolutely love the thing.
I, too, went and got one after his other video. He should get kickbacks from Ibanez. 😂
Bass VIs are definitely coming into popularity lately
Ebow on bass guitar! Yes! Sounds great, Bill! Time for a collab with Sunn O))).
THIS !!!!
@@raw.relentless.resonance Seriously - Bill could bring some melody into the mix.
@@davelanciani-dimaensionx it's true! 100%!
Thank you for showcasing ambient *Bass!* 🤩
I've been working on my ambient bass stuff ever since I discovered your channel (and bought the TC triple flashback delay).
Both soothing and haunting at the same time
Ambient bass guitar is highly underrated. I played my 5 string bass into a Source Audio Collider and had such a relaxing time.
I just ordered Neunaber Mk2 reverb for my 4 stringers. Low end ambient is very soothing[including baritone guitar].
Heck yeah! The range is awesome! Thanks!
Thanks so much!!!!
The music is cosmic 😊. So meditative and relaxing ❤
Thanks!
Thanks very much for the support!!!
Haven't seen the SRC6 in a while, glad to see it getting brought out again :)
Haven't been here in a while. I remember when you had just a a couple hundred subscribers, me included, and now look at that 170k :)

Great playing and sounds, the start reminds me a little of the Flash Gordon soundtrack
Very powerful and deep some lovely sonic overtones. Amazing.

I love this!! That Cosmos looper seems really cool!
CRUSHING! DO ANOTHER ONE IN PHRYGIAN!!

Gorgeous as ever, Bill! Love it!!
That was hella cool! More please!!💚
Please put this one on Bandcamp.
Keep this channel going!
Love the textures !
Now that’s what I call BASS DRONE! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
100%
🔥 As a bassist who does some ambient stuff, absolutely magical 🧐
Sweet and low 😎
I love my short scale Gretch! This type of bass is perfect for guitarists! Beautiful use for one here too. Must try my ebow on it ASAP.
Kickass! 🤘😩🎸
Killer

Sounds wonderful Bill! …But what about combining both ambient guitar and ambient bass soundscapes together? 😅

I like how the low notes sound like a double bass.
It's inspiring! I think I need a bass.... 🙃
Space time!
IT REMINDS ME OF SUNN O)))
BUT DEEPER.

@@TommyNitro that’s dope! Gonna have to find one and try it with my Gretch G5260 Baritone.

@@TommyNitro I’m a little crazy for Synth-wave and Ambient. Thanks for the info. 😄
@@BoofyBoyo It'd work great for that.
This SRC6 might be understood als "Source of S**" :-) I'm still enjoying my SRC6, too. Just as your music, Bill - thank you.
Is this on an album? Sounds fantastic
Not currently, but it is a candidate for my next "official" release.
Need mote bass videos )
+1
Yeah, with this bass...I have one!
Sounds like bass effects Justin Chancellor of tool would use.
The earth cracked open and poured technicolor sludge all over my keyboard.
I've never been able to get my ebow to work worth my bass
I think you should reach out to Charles Berthoud and make some collab with him?

You should never go back to guitar ❤ this just sounds too goooooood 😮
Thought you drifted into a diabetic coma there at the end. Now i need to find big bottoms..
