      Does anyone else really like the idea of a teddy bear walking around, sitting in the dark, playing video games, using Gopher’s voice?

      Gopher did a chat with other modders and used an avatar system, his was a fuzzy bear animal looking thing. I have ever since seen Gopher as that. =)

    Just a heads-up. If you use the sticky hooks on textured ceiling they will stick. The problem is when you take them off. You will most likely take a part of the ceiling with you. Just saying. It created a nice new spot for the my smoke detector that I should have placed months earlier... 🙄

    I do so love the continued schtick of never showing your person on camera, Gopher. This is a "thing" that I personally hope never ends. Lol
    You are a pair of disembodied human hands and a teddy bear wrapped in sound foam. It's cannon now, don't ever retconn it.

    • @EyalArditi
      @EyalArditi 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1. Just a flesh wound
      2. Fortunately for me the ceiling in my house is high (250 cm) so I will only hit it if my hands are way over my head and that is good since I'm on the tall side (187 cm)

    • @heyyitsultima
      @heyyitsultima 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jamesgardner3720 I used to play VR in a living room with a peaked roof that had a ceiling fan. Unfortunately, I'm rather tall, and so I still could hit the ceiling fan. It made me develop the habit of crouching whenever I wanted to swing upward, and got me more accustomed to using trackpad locomotion vs real life movements. It's still something I tend to do, even with more vertical space and more walking space. Though I will say that these days, armswinger is my favorite movement method.

  • @Danny2k34
    @Danny2k34 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The cable twist is the one big issue with the whole cable management thing and is a major downside for me personally which makes me not want to invest in VR yet until wireless is introduced to more headsets. You either don't turn around which defeats the purpose of having the whole pulley system or you don't use the pulley system at all and sometimes step on your cable or get tangled up in it. Only way I see to solve this is for them to bring out wireless adapters which I'm honestly surprised only HTC have currently. (I think?)
    You'd think it would be a priority and companies would want to get something wireless out asap to solidify their headset in the market and make a more enjoyable experience for the consumer so they are not constantly checking the cable every few mins to see if it's tangled or breaking their necks keep stepping on it.

    Those retractable spools have been used on Key Rings for almost 100yrs. So no new design there at all. Most likely Patent infringements. Original design was made of Stainless Steel and lasts for decades. Those plastic thing May last a few months of use.

    • @aglaycock1

      There is zero chance of patent infringement on a mechanism that is used in every lanyard and keyring in the land. I agree there isn't much going on here, but the rubberised mounts to isolate structure borne noise transmission, as well as the pre-made rubber loops on the end that can grip the cable are nice things that people would be willing to pay for instead of jury rig themselves. The same basis as people buying pre-chopped carrots and other shit like that.

    VR today is just stupid. At best it works sitting down. Standing up you basically need to have a hole static VR rig in your room. And even then the cable is just bad. What if the headset had a cable going from the center of your head and STRAIT up into the sealing. And the cable is the kind of spring looking type old wired phones used. So when you stretch the cable the cable become longer and shorter depending on distance from resting point. And for good mesure use a rope system to remove any slack keeping the cable in the right hight! Wire going from headset go STRAIT up into a plug made to disconnect if forced pulled. From there you have a normal cable going to the PC that is never in danger of destroying your PC. How HARD is this? What is Valve and VR hardwear devs doing? You have to put up some stuff in the room anyways so why not put stuff on the roof? It dose not have to look bad. Just odd.
