  • Here is how to replace and upgrade your stock transmission cooler on 2010 Chevy Silverado and similar models. Using True-Cool cooler rated at 40,000 GVW. Great for towing my rock crawler and keeping the temps down.
    Below are the links on Amazon for the cooler, 3/8’s coupler and GM quick connectors. I was able to use the stock cooler lines with some modifications on my application. Most GM trucks and SUVS are set up about the same.

    Best install I’ve seen out of all transmission cooler installs

    Thanks for the how to on this install. Extremely helpful. I flattened the bottom bracket and recounted it. My install was slightly different but the connection process was exactly the same. My end result was a great install but also dropped my temperature from 200 -210 ,down to 140 -150. This is awesome. Thanks again and have a great day.

    Did you notice any change in your engine temp and or your AC functionality? Seems like that much larger cooler will create more heat in front of the radiator which in theory, would cause the radiator and AC condenser to struggle a little more. Just curious if you noticed any changes. Thanks for sharing. Nice job on the installation!

      I’m about to do this before going on a trip to Oklahoma. I don’t think it will have much of an effect on the AC or radiator, since the air flows straight through, I’m thinking you’ll get a 1 or 2 degree difference on the oil temp, but that’s it. Honestly I’m just trying to save my trans because I don’t want my 6l80 to crap itself

    What was the park number that you used for the gym fitting for the aftermarket training cooler

    Hey quick question, I want to do the exact same setup as you made but I’m a little confused when it comes to the 3/8x3/8 union, after you cut the section out , do you have to flare the end of it that goes into the union itself?

      My question as well. I thought you had to flare the ends for unions

      Compression fitting it has the ring inside of it once you tighten it up it compresses to the pipe

    so you are just bypassing the radiator cooler altogether? I thought transcoolers were supposed to be used in conjunction with. Thanks.

      @jamessamuel2572 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No it’s not bypassed, it’s larger so it can catch more airflow and can hold more fluid than the stock cooler.

      The transmission lines going to the back of the radiator on the passenger side actually bring the transmission fluid up to operating temperature by heating the fluid once the engine reaches a certain temperature-the lines going to the front are for the transmission cooler.

    Did you have to add more ATF? How much?

    Why do certain adds show on you tube but not on regular adds on tv.
