    I took an avalanche course last year where one of the instructors was in the helicopter supervising the work. He had some amazing footage taken from the air of this avalanche. Blew my mind!

    This is some of the best avalanche footage I've found. Super large, and good quality... not shaking all over, or tumbling inside it. :D
    I love seeing the trees being blown over just before they actually get hit by the snow. The pressure wave from this thing is intense! That was a huge amount of snow that came down. It looks like a fluffy white soft cloud but getting hit by that must be like running into a 70 mph concrete wall.

    When you view an avalanche from the side rather than looking at it straight on, it really shows how massive and fast they are.

    It's neat seeing the tunnel still intact, and the engineering that made it work. I wonder what the max design load for the tunnel is?

    • @martymodus7205
      @martymodus7205 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking the same thing. Honestly, not sure how much I'd trust driving under it with that much weight on top, but I guess if it's still up after the initial impact, it's probably cemented in place somewhat by the settled pack.

      A tunnel is an arch, literally one of the strongest shapes for building.

    • @Okanoggin
      @Okanoggin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What's amazing to me is the outside wall doesn't appear to be heavily reinforced. There's lots of concrete for sure, but I get the feeling it's a testament to the design in that a lot of the force must be going lateral to the structure.

    When someone says "avalanche" that's exactly what I picture. If you watch the leading edge closely you can see the air it's shoving out of the way hit the trees a split second before the snow.

    Hi . I stayed in Revelstoke 2000 at The Peaks. It was not a well known place over here in the UK ansmd I am delighted to know that it is well known around the world. Great place. Did my 1st snow mobile up Boulder Mountain. If I remover the guys name was pat or Paul. Just loved it there. Great video .

      The easiest thing that you can do is exhaust. It depends on what kind of riding you'd like to do, but bar risers are something that I use. I think that is rotary-valve engine, so not much you can do with intake unless you wanted to switch to a carb with a larger diameter, but it starts getting complicated to tune in at that point.

    Why you dont ride the phazer 480

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +charles robichaud its a cool machine and all but the honest truth is: It'll never keep up with a modern mountain sled. I know a few other guys who have built a phazer like mine and say "Its lighter than a Pro. I'll go anywhere in the mountains an RMK will." And it's just not true. I know its 90% rider ability to get into places, but the truth is the 480 is just not capable of getting into the areas we go. Thanks for the comment!
