    I've always like how the instructors have the ability to slow down time. "He swings at you with a punch? Deliver a quick kick to the knee, followed by three punches, then an elbow, then a head butt because it's entirely safe, followed by eye gouging, stab him with his own knife, then for some reason the guy will fall on his own."

      They don’t do that because you can do all of them in the same time he does it to show all the possible attacks, one punch or two is all it takes to take down an enemy since he is teaching them he is showing them all the ways you can attack an enemy

    One of the most down to earth lethal and effective combat systems I've ever seen. What I like about systema is that everything you do it's designed to take down your opponent quickly and efficiently. No bullshit just pure combat

    Excellent video. Vadim Starov is a master instructor of SYSTEMA. His timing is so perfect and he makes it look so easy, that most people that leave negative comments don't even understand his movement or technique. But every one of you is a Keyboard Black Belt!

    Don't dis anything, take what you see is useful (and may work for you) and integrate it, practise and repetition, preferably with someone who can correct technique - you can't see everything, an instructor can see things you can't. In a fight you have no time to think, moves must be instantaneous from reaction / muscle memory. Sir, I like your techniques, thank you for the demo.

This is what could make the presentation complete. Best regards. Paul, 67, (2 years later)

    It's weird a lot of people slag off wing chun but I have seen two separate guys use it in different situations, both won their fights with 30 seconds and both didn't get hit back in the process. I appreciate there are variables like what was the quality of individuals fighting.
    I personally love the efficiency of Brazilian ju jistu though, but on the street I am not sure. You really don't wanna be on the floor in a street fight if there is the potential of multiple attackers. It's horses for courses every art suits a different situation. But to say wing chun or karate don't work in UFC is a myth. Let's take karate loyoto machida and Connor mcgregor contradict that massive karate practioners . Wing chun examples here is a good one, vitor belfort vs wanderi silva is one of the best examples of wing chun chain punching use to win a fight you will ever see.
    So nothing is black and white as to say this works and that doesn't.

    When dealing with an opponent of greater strength, do not utilize the same brutal techniques they are, no matter what they will undoubtedly accept incoming strikes and retaliate with even greater force.
    Instead strike to what can not be conditioned: The nervous system. Disruptions in signals to the brain will disable any assailant, leaving them unable to retaliate, or even stand, depending on the strike zone.
    Where as this instructor went around and through to vulnerable points of stomach, chest and neck, a single knife hand to the heart meridian in the armpit will temporarily disable that appendage and send the body into emergency mode.
    He was correct about one thing: Use intelligence
    Sadly, his intelligence came up with "Hit them more than they hit me"

    • @scottjohnstone2620
      @scottjohnstone2620 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just cause someone is big dont mean they can punch harder or fight better or even take more punishment.

    • @jakenottage
      @jakenottage 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, and a slow, lumbering strike would only get a simple evasion and a glare. That though is not always the case and they often do have the force behind technique (experience coming from both training and field). To which attempting to overpower is foolhardy and could lead to unnecessary risk to yourself, let alone your opponent. Yes we are all still human beings.
      Shocking the system is not something a person can easily learn to endure, I have witnessed instructors phased by students well placed hits. The practice uses the moment you can almost guarantee to proceed to another technique to assure they are incapacitated, yet many times it alone is enough to end hostility.

    The kick boxer moves taught to me by the toughest lady in the world- a BLACK lady from Compton..Is you grab the punch and use it to turn around, while holding the arm in place ,you push in the back elbow till they go down by their own force. It's like your flipping them by their own arm. This huge guy's too tall for any other move unless your close to 6 feet. This move also has the body free to just run once they go down. Running is always the best option.

      This is an fragment from the seminar. Vadim was explaining the concept of the fighting. He had to break it down into parts. Of course, on the street, nobody will tell you how to punch. But in order to explain the techniques, you should recreate different situations. Look at it, like learning alphabet. Before you will write a book, a teaching should you show to to draw each letter and point on your mistakes. I hope my explanation made it a bit clear). Thank you for watching our videos and for sharing your comments! Check out our training DVDs. Perhaps, you find something interesting for yourself: www.RussianCombat.com

    This seems like one of those martial arts that are all for show. For instance, the instructor preforms several punches all while the mans arms is extended, in real situations a mans arms will not extend like that for that much time. Even if he were to get hit by the initial blow, one should expect immediate retaliation. Thus one should also avoid over complex moves.

    • @mojotheaverage
      @mojotheaverage 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually it's really not for show. This is the system used by Russian special forces and it's incredibly simple and effective. It may look complex but actually every action he performs is really simple. It's remarkably similar to krav maga in that respect

    • @serialdrunkdriver
      @serialdrunkdriver 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to also consider that in an actual fighting situation the teacher would conduct himself differently as well.
      He's trying to do it while slowly showing you what to do. It's not gonna look killer like that.

    Let's get some facts clear if you are trying to learn to fight , forget this learn self defence it's an outdated concept 1st ask yourself this question in my everyday day life who am l likely to get into a fight with , if like me your in the UK it's most likely going to be some piss head outside a take out throwing wild agressive punches . 2nd what style should you learn , from my experience and I've had some if you are an average guy , don't be fooled into karate . kung-fu, basically any of the oriental arts , now lm not saying there ineffective far from it , but remember this they have there short comings , what are they , 1 oriental martial arts were designed around the fact that the person you are fighting is using the same or similar technique, 2 as l said there not useless but on the streets of the UK if your going to use karate kung-fu wing chun,, l think that's how it's spelt ,, you can't be anything other than an expert at it . take wing chun you stand square on to some one in a street fight and attempt wing chun and your average at best your going straight on your back , so what should you learn for the average guy forget systema again this takes years for it to be effective don't waste your time , you need to go to your local boxing club get the basic punches then add elbows and knees , because a person with basic boxing ,street fighting skills will wipe the floor with an average martial arts guy , lve seen it over and over again, a perfect example ufc great Anderson silva great boxing elbows and knees , last few fight started learning wing chun used it in his fights over his boxing knees and elbows , and lost , now I'm not running oriental martial arts down they can be effective , have a good day guys ,

      you can get something out of all of them. your local boxing club isn't going to have all the answers either. I would of rather trained in Filipino knife and stick fighting against someone coming at me with a knife, rather than learning boxing ane getting my throat cut open. Systema has its place. I see its shortcomings, in fact many of them, but much can be learnt from it. They have a unique flow ane the body language is bizzare to the average person. It's good, I'm glad it was created, but you would have to be narrow minded to believe it's the be all and end all

      alright. who says this could happen in your everyday life which probably consists of eating chips and sitting on the couch like the average human watching netflix for 5 hours. There are people that have had to use this before. Maybe it isn't you but where i live it should be learned.

      For one to one fighting wrestling / judo grappling is the best to learn. Striking and good movement gives you a better chance against multiple opponents. Best defence is to avoid engaging - if you have to do something this systema looks very effective, in fact potentially lethal - get in, get out, get away.
