    Who is Garden State Tortoise?
However you made it here, thank you and welcome to Garden State Tortoise. Garden State Tortoise is home to hundreds of animals from all around the world. We are a family dedicated to adventure, conservation of wildlife, and all things nature. We are a reptile rescue and breeding facility for more than ten years, offering refuge to those who need it, and working everyday to protect the beautiful world of reptiles in any way we can. Here on our TH-cam channel you will be able to join us on our animal adventures while learning how to care for, protect, properly identify, feed and even breed many species of turtle, tortoise, snake and lizard. We even work with frogs and salamanders! We hope you enjoy our videos and help us share them with the world so we can continue to educate people of all ages about herpetology.

I read an article in my local paper, the Staten Island Advance that stated we now have a growing population of them here ! I was amazed and so excited to hear that. They are in Freshkills Park, formally known as Freshkills landfill. They have been working on it for years to clean it up and it has now miraculously returned itself to nature. The mounds that were once NYC's trash, are now rolling green hills, and many treeshave grown ! it has attracted and become home to much diverse wildlife!
When I read that now there are terrapins my heart leapt for joy ! I wanted to let you know, so maybe you could check them out. The park is yet to be opened to the public and will open in sections. They do occasionally have special open days . Im sure that if you spoke to them, they would be happy to let you take a look !

Also, thank you, all of your videos are awesome Garden State Tortoise! 🐢

If only you could learn to love your work, Chris! Think how interesting you could find the data and differences in all the creatures under your care. But that would only happen if you cared. OK enough teasing!!!! Thank you for the enjoyable tour of your coastal areas. I will never be able to travel to see the beauty of your marshes, but thanks to you I could see it-almost smell it. You and Casey do great and meaningful work for turtles/torts and all the rest. Bless you both and your girls too, of course.

It is a shame that concerned humans do not provide longer protection after hatching, and provide plenty of food and water so that they could grow beyond bite size for everything that sees them as food. Tourists would love to see such an additional program and would help provide $$$$$$$ to cover the slight additional expenses.
