I agree. I decided to learn English an about 1 month ago and I watched a lot of good natives teachers who explain in Portuguese, but even though it wasn't so clear and good like her. I just love her so much.
I have considered myself as having reached advanced level of English grammar and usage, but I don't know the difference between "to" and "for". I have searched online several times to learn but haven't understood the rule. But you have taught the rule very clearly and I have understood their proper usage. Thank you so much.
Ronnie! Thanks for your existence and personality. You make English sounds very easy and your humor is the cherry on the top. I'm also an ESL teacher here in Brazil. Your lessons inspire me. Again, thank you very much!

Hello I am from srilanka. I had many doubts about using to and for. I watched many videos but still I had that doubt. Only when I watched you video I completely understand the difference between to and for. Thanks teacher. Your explanation is so well
you can also sing TO someone (directed at someone), and you can also do that (or something) TO someone (again, an action directed at someone). thanks for the lesson!
You're the best teacher I have ever seen, I use to struggle with English but after I started taking your lesson, I start enjoying english.thank you so much Ronnie do more lessons ❤❤❤❤
I was actually hoping that you would explain the difference between "to" and "for" when they're followed by a verb, like "to do" vs "for doing". Can we expect a video on that?
Hi I am Donaldo I am a duck I am from Brazil also I don't know why i am writing this way Line by line Maybe do i have some autism Am i retardarded? No, i don't guess so Well, i have to go Very nice, nice a lot Cool Congratulations!
you can actually use either to or for in all of these sentences, it just changes the meaning of the sentence. i made this lesson TO you means i addressed the lesson to you. i gave the beer FOR her means you gave the beer (to somebody) instead of her, on her behalf. i'm going to talk FOR you, you means i will talk instead of you, on your behalf. i will do that TO you, means you are making an action upon somebody ("if you hit me, i will do that to you"). i sing TO you, means the same thing as for you but without the added meaning of the singing being a "gift". i go FOR school, means you go for the purposes of school.
You can't. Only on a few of them. You cannot say "i made this lesson to you", or "i gave the beer for her". No native speaker would put it together like that. You would also never hear "I go for school". You may here other sentences with "for school" but not "I go for school".
jsv the only one you're maybe right about is "i made this lesson to you". "i gave the beer for her" means you gave the beer to someone on behalf of her, or in her place. and you can say "i go for school", it just requires a context to make sense, because it implies a purpose. "why do you go to the library every night?" "i go for school. i'm doing research." perfectly fine sentence.
starbuck92 Sorry, you are wrong. These aren't complete sentences. You wouldn't say this. "i gave the beer for her" it's not a complete sentence. "i got for school" is equally bad. It is broken English. You wouldn't say it on their own like that.
jsv no, they are both complete sentences and perfectly acceptable english. i think you need to learn the difference between a broken sentence, and a sentence that there would not be many opportunities to say but that is still correct when used in the proper circumstance.
I have a problem with the artecls when to use(the or a or an) and when not to use them ..like can I say The enternet or the girls?!😭😢 I am new in this channel that is why I am bad in english😅❤ I love you teatcher❤🔥
Interesting to note that several of the examples can use either to or for, changing the meaning. You used the choices that anyone would give, because the other meanings are a bit convoluted. I gave the beer for her - means she was to give beer to someone, but I gave it to that person in her stead. I am going to talk for you - you are supposed to talk, but I will do the talking for you. I will do that to you - You need an action done to you (a massage?) and I will do it to you. I sing to you - you are a person (say, a baby) who will be sung to Interesting. Thanks for the explanation. Funny how you don't think what the rules are when you use them natively. :)
For means Tumhare liye..for example- I am doing this For you. To means Kisi ko (kuch dena),ya Kahi jana.. for example- He is going to New York I am giving a party to my friends.
I would say to = à for = para But in portuguese you can use ''para'' instead ''à'', in english if you use ''for'' replacing ''to'' the sentence would be wrong.

In portuguese is:
to : para
for : por
something like that
I would say
to = à
for = para
But in portuguese you can use ''para'' instead ''à'', in english if you use ''for'' replacing ''to'' the sentence would be wrong.
