It’s great to hear that you added a striker to this rod. I thought it was kinda dumb not to. I’ve never met anyone who was glad to have a whistle when they needed a spark. 🤣

Would like to see and updated version with more strike life. Some other ferro rods in this price range offer 20,000+ strike life.

Hey Kyle, Jarod from TITAN Survival here. Thank you for the suggestion, and I please understand that we are always working on making our products better. One of the primary reasons ours is not at "20,000+ strikes" is because we make a softer ferro-rod, that throws more sparks, and as a result more material is used. Additionally, our softer ferro-rod is more durable and less brittle than those that you mention...so it actually ends up lasting longer because it resists breaking. It took us 2 years to get to the formula we use now, and we haven't found a better version yet in the same size factor, that gives the best balance of reliability and durability. Having said that, ours will last you a life-time...and probably your kid's. And then there's our LIFETIME Guarantee.

When would you EVER need 20,000 sparks? By the time you’ve reached 1,000 or more good sparks you could easily afford another rod.

I cringed when this guy started to use his axe to strike it when it comes with a striker...

LOL! Actually, we originally didn't include a scraper with the SurvivorSteel ferro-rod because almost everyone I've ever met uses their ax or the spine of their belt knife to strike the ferro-rod. But after about 10,000 people complained that they needed a small striker, we added one last year. This video was made before that addition was made.

@@titansurvival Wow, thanks for the quick reply and makes sense. I ordered some monday in dragon scale, couldnt wait till friday so I went out to my local sportmans warehouse and bought me a hank of emergency orange. Ive been putting it through its paces over the past couple of days, made a snare with the 30 awg wire, tripled it up at about 3 feet and used a large game scale and gave her a good tug. Snapped at 54 pounds which is damn good of you ask me. Just wish I knew about the XT variant at checkout 😁

@@TwoFeetDown92, great to hear! And thank you for the feedback...we love to hear from our customers. Did your Sportsman's Warehouse SurvivorCord come in our Retail SurvivorCord Box? I ask because last I heard they had run out of SurvivorCord and were waiting to make another order. As for the XT....that has only gone through our initial "soft-launch" to test the market, so more of that and more colors will follow in the coming months.
