I have folowed a swedish company Climeon than builds geothermal converters to electricity, that uses lower heat than competition and is installed on Island (best geothermal qualitys in the world propably) but the costs of transporting electricity from the small units it killing the investments. I was a mechanical design engineer and see buildings as a machine. Like modern machines it has power distribution, hvac, water and waste systems, Ingress Protection (keep weather out) and communications/security. Manufactured homes are a bit closer to modern manufacturing techniques but sacrifice design for a road compatible design. Buildings could be completely custom, exotic, structurally analyzed, thermodynamically optimized and designed with solar integrated (not added) as a roofing system and positioned for optimal yearly power output. All this could be mostly CAD/CAM and robotically assembled module that are field assembled and probably about a tenth of the cost. Everyone thinks they not replaceable by tech. I wouldn't make that bet. Elon was very clear in his vision: he wants robots to be the primary means of production and the rest of humanity just goes on welfare (UBI) and do crafts for etsy.

Elon knows that there could be regulatory harassment and public disapproval so he needs control over the regulatory process to allow FSD deployment next year to collect the data to improve FSD. So it is a bit of a 'public is a guinea pig' thing-ends justify the means.

There was a inventor in the 80s that went on Channel 7 eye witness news showing his invention live he stated that he invented a vehicle that runs off of H20 , Now he showed that when he started the car there was no gasoline in it and as he tried to start it there were no results , he then added a gallon of water and the vehicle started ,the reporter went with him to test the car and came back 15 minutes later . The reporter was laughing at him when they left but was serious when he came back .He explained that it was the same concept as a air conditioner Elon should check into this because it was truly amazing when he showed this off . I was a mechanical design engineer and see buildings as a machine. Like modern machines it has power distribution, hvac, water and waste systems,
Ingress Protection (keep weather out) and communications/security.
Manufactured homes are a bit closer to modern manufacturing techniques but sacrifice design for a road compatible design. Buildings could be completely custom, exotic, structurally analyzed, thermodynamically optimized and designed with solar integrated (not added) as a roofing system and positioned for optimal yearly power output.
All this could be mostly CAD/CAM and robotically assembled module that are field assembled and probably about a tenth of the cost.
Everyone thinks they not replaceable by tech. I wouldn't make that bet.
Elon was very clear in his vision: he wants robots to be the primary means of production and the rest of humanity just goes on welfare (UBI) and do crafts for etsy.

I think what he's trying to say is that human population, one way or another will be much lower in the future. Robot population will be much higher. Dead humans don't use energy. Robots like that. AI will run the robots and the troublesome human riff-raff will be gone forever.
