Ah, the good old days when local bands actually played live at school!! I know we did it in the early 80's!!!! Thanks for poppin' by, be sure to like, share & subscribe!!!
It's interesting that they rehearsed in front of the full wall mirror...Great footage...!! Kevin Dubrow was 24 years old here. In September 1982, Quiet Riot finally signed a US recording contract with CBS Records and the album Metal Health was released on March 11, 1983
i was one of the 12 year old boys that rushed out to buy that album,it wasnt long after i discovered iron maidens number of the beast and then i was a fully fledged member of the heavy metal club...i already had blizzard of ozz and my nick name in 7th grade was ozzy,of course with a big endorsement from me!
It's not much different than every young punk kid (including the dude's in Quiet Riot) who dreamed of being a Rockstar posing in front of their bedroom mirror every day. The only difference with Quiet Riot at band practice here in this video. Was they were really putting their chops together now as a group in order to be taken serious & stand out from the rest of the rockers who were looking to sign a deal with a major record label. You had to put in the work to have any chance at making it in the music industry back in the day my friend. You need to understand back then in those days most bands/music artists paid their dues grinding it out in bars & clubs almost every night hoping to get seen by some record label A&R rep in the crowd. Just saying... +Peace Funk & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul My Friend+ 🤘😜🤘
I was a local back in those days, many "fans" knew the difference of when a band was unique and when a band 'member' was what made that band special, and Quiet Riot was... meh, BUT Randy was why everybody wanted to see the band!! Yes in a world of BS, these were real people that actually lived to play and played to live!!! Thanks for poppin' by!!
Come for Randy and get Rudy, the only camera man who went out of their way to film Randy is that Chicago TV show from stage right, he leans around so Ozzy is not in the shot as much as he could when hearing the lead for Over the Mountain.

Man... I am 55 and have been playing guitar most of that time. This is gonna probably get me blasted, but I swear I think this is a Mandela Effect. Considering how big of a rock guitar fan I was... I always heard that Randy was giving guitar lessons....teaching classical guitar even....when Ozzy got him. I knew of Rudy's affiliation with Ozzy.....but not Randy. I never heard that Randy Rhoads was a member of Quiet Riot until these footage vids started popping up in my feed. I have been like.....HOW DID I MISS THIS? So, I asked my wife (who is a lifelong musician as well) and she never heard it either. In my timeline.... Randy Rhoads was never in Quiet Riot. Fire away...
Sorry but most of what you think the Mandela effect is is just people with bad memories. I don't know if you're aware of this, but Quiet Riot released two albums in Japan with Randy Rhoads on guitar before he was even with Ozzy
@DouglasEdwards-ql1fg I would have concurred with you a few short months ago, then I ran across 2 specific ones that I know I am not misremembering and it has made me really question if there is something to it. 1. ) I was 8 when the 1st STAR WARS came out. I was a complete nerd when it came to that movie. I know I have legit watched that movie 50 times. I had the action figures, comic books, t-shirts.... I know in my core that C3PO did not have a silver leg, yet supposedly it has always been this way? No... me and 50 million other people are not misremembering that. 2.) The cornucopia on the FRUIT OF THE LOOM logo. I know it was there and up until about few years ago, I could have proven it. There was a picture of me, with my cousin on my 10th birthday. I got a motocross bike and we were standing by it. I had on a Tshirt that plainly showed the cornucopia. Sadly, the photo album that contained the pic was accidentally thrown away when my Mom passed. Anyway, we were not near as connected back then and it is possible I just somehow missed this Randy thing, but man... like I said... I am a guitar player.... I was a metal head....I was aware of Rudy's connection to both Ozzy and QR. I knew that Randy gave classical guitar lessons... so how did I miss it? The other weird thing? I can't tell you who I thought the original guitar player was in QR. I remember all of the members....except for the guitar player. Who knows man....maybe you are right, but after my two examples above, this one sure is weird to me. This world seems to get stranger every day.

Probably the most average band from that era, no wonder they couldn’t get signed. Van Halen and other contemporary bands of the time made them look pretty sad.
Deadward had an entire lifetime to separate himself from Randy, and failed. 42 years after Randy passed, he's as legendary as ever! Deadward? Nobody gives a shit about him only a couple of years after his death. Deadward became a sad shadow of addiction. He coasted on ego...ask Alex Van Halen, Deadward spent his entire life chasing his early self/success. Deadward made himself, his entire sad life look VERY bad.

@Perrysar. Rudy had good stage presence, he wasn’t that great as a player though, late on the down beat, his meter was off. It wasn’t him on the studio tracks, they used a studio rat ( pro session player) to lay it down. He did get better though.
