We will be on the Encore next February and are really looking forward to trying Solis. It has to be better than Thomas Keller which we always found the food to be very ordinary. We also became board with the menu as the selections never changed.
@@katrinahealey6390 Agree they should have changed the menus on TK as they got repetitive. We’ve not had a great experience in Solis (3 times now) but someone else we spoke to said it was the best meal they’ve had at sea!!! We will try again next time and hopefully it will hit the mark. Have a great cruise on the beautiful Encore 🥂❤️
Hi, really enjoyed your videos over the last year thanks. I have been lucky enough t to do many cruises over many years but never Seabourn, however due to your lovely videos about your adventures on board their ships, we booked our first Seabourn cruise and we sail in June. After watching your recent vids we are really looking forward to it even more Plus I didn’t know until I watched this video that Seabourn no longer partners with Thomas Keller, therefore I visited “my cruise” I find that our Keller booking is changed to Solis, so thanks for the heads up. Carry on cruising Neil & Liz
Thanks for your lovely comments! ❤️ hope you love Seabourn as much as we do, it’s luxury with a laid back vibe and they do some great events onboard and ashore ..’caviar in the surf’ is amazing. Videos going on for Solis and what drinks are included so watch this space. Solis we experienced a mixed bag but a lot of people loved it, and I’m sure when we go again we will love it more after they get over the teething problems! 😊
Thanks! Yes go and see the Maitre ‘d while you’re onboard and see if you can get another visit. On the larger ships it’s usually not a problem especially if you eat earlier or later. We go to dinner at 830pm and that always helps! 😊
The sea bass was probably one that came from a farm. The number of bones that you get in them recently has been so bad that I no longer order them. It is the same when I order them at home or at Greek restaurants.
Really enjoy watching you both, have never been on seaborne, we tend to cruise Regent and silverseas, how do you think it compares? We are on regent in 10 days time. Happy cruising to you both Sarah😊
Thanks Sarah for the lovely comments. Haven’t been Silversea for years so can’t comment (but no doubt will be on them shortly 😂). Regent food amazing (the best)and we would go back on them in a heartbeat. Seabourn beat them on service and special events, dining still great as well. Love them both equally for different reasons. Have a fantastic cruise on Regent - we are just a tad envious!😂❤️
Great videos I really do like them but it would be more honest to tell us how many passengers on the ship or an estimate as there does not seem to be many passengers on this ship.
Very few true Mediterranean dishes or Mediterranean ingredients. American steak, American lobster; I begin to despair of Seabourn, and I speak as a Gold member
Seabourn is our least favorite because of the cuisine and the ships. The food is easily the worst in its category. We cruised on Encore last year and were supremely disappointed. The ship had a ton of deferred maintenance. It's not ultra-luxury despite them saying so. Not anywhere near the same league as Silversea or Regent.
100% agree. Silversea and Regent are in a separate, elite class-to possibly be joined in the elite class by Explora (I have not sailed on them…yet). Fifteen years ago, Seabourn was singularly superior to all other ultra luxury cruise line. Their decline has been jaw dropping.
@robertboyd5257 I'm curious to see what Seabourn's path forward is. While other lines are forging forward by going more upmarket (Explora) they've fallen so far behind I don't see how they can recover. I'm a tad surprised Crystal didn't try to buy them as the two crews are very similar. They'd have to rehab the hell out of those ships though. Heinous doesn't even scratch the surface. Even if you changed the carpeting and the curtains the layout remains. It's beyond awkward. Carnival just needs to cut the cord at this point. Absolutely zero mention of any new Ocean vessels or major dry dock upgrades. Encore was built in 2016 I believe. It might as well have been 1996. It hasn't aged well at all.
@@BoysOfBoca When the sale to the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund fell through, that was the end of Seabourn. Only the Saudis would have had the resources to restore Seabourn to its former glory. I understand Carnival over played their hand on price (as you would expect them to), and the Saudis instead partnered with Aman. Seabourn is history. They will not recover.

Mixed feelings. I've always found The Restaurant and Colonnades sufficiently varied so won't be too disappointed if Solis is not up to scratch.

Great video. Thanks. How do you get to eat at Solis more than once? Do you just show up and see if there is an opening?

Because not many people on the ship obviously.

Actually it was full when we were on it! We try to do our filming at times when we won’t be interfering with customers holidays 🤗

Shame..we loved the Thomas Keller on Quest!!

Solis was a disaster, miss Tomas Keller.
You babble without getting to the point
True but remember they are not going to bite the hand that feeds them. Also, where are the rest of the passengers?
