Thanks for the honest feedback. For the price that we pay for a Vudoo barreled action or one of their rifles, we should not have to alter the magazines or add Velcro to their product so that it operates as it was intended. Your video is not the first I have seen that identifies quality issues with Vudoo products. Vudoo has really grown over the past few years as demand has increased for their products. It is vital for a company like Vudoo to insure that with increased demand and production they do not suffer from lack of quality control.
Hey Mark! I just responded to your comment on my other video so sorry for not seeing this comment. I agree, a bit underwhelmed with the journey, but man that thing shoots lights out now. I just want others to know what might be happening if they have the same issues. Thanks again for watching!
Sorry for the late reply Eagle Eye...Glad to hear it. I've just mounted a bull barrel on my Vudoo action and going to see how it shoots this weekend. Thanks for watching this one my friend!
Great video and I loved the honest feedback. Glad you found a good solution for your feeding problems. Wish I could’ve been there with you and Caleb for the practice time!
So I went to my first ARA Match and I did poorly and the gun was fussy. Came home and set my gun up in my clamp type cleaning rig. First thing I was short stroke the bolt. The bolt was also stiff/dragging, so I cleaned the bolt and receiver and found the bolt likes a light oil everywhere and the cocking cam likes moly grease. Next was the mags they were too tight, dragged on the MDT ACC chassis and on the cutout in the receiver. The front and rear of the top mag section rubbing in the ACC where they are joined, a little filing in that area fit that. Same with section that comes up through the receiver, filing front and rear. So that when you hold the mag release open the mags go in smoothly with no fore and aft play. Next I discovered 1/4 moon shaped lead rings cut off the bullets laying below the sharp edge mouth of chamber. So I watch some bullets feed and mags were not releasing fast enough to pop the cartridge up under the dual extractors so that it could feed straight into the chamber and certainly damaging the bullets. If you look down from the top the feed lips widen slightly as the get closer to the breach, raising the bullet as it moves forward. I open those up slightly. It gave the bolt greater a bigger grip on the rim but didn't speed up release. So next I shortened the feed lips giving a earlier release. I figure mags are cheap so I shortened them more finely got the release I wanted. The nose of the bullet has just pasted the end of chamber without touching it the mag releases and the bullet is held in perfect alignment to go straight into the chamber. Feeds beautifully smooth now!!
Wow LEO! Sounds something like my journey. What ammo were/are you using? Glad you got it working, but it's no fun finding all that out during a match as we have both learned. Thanks for the great update my friend!
I just received a barreled action from vudoo, this video is at least 2 years old and some comments are a year old I hope that vudoo has fixed all the issues, I am going to shoot my rifle next Saturday for the first time I was doing some feeding test and found out that it does not extract the Eley ammo I tested, i didn’t have any issues with Lapua and CCI, let’s see what happens next Saturday
Hi Boalfero! They still don't particularly like ELEY ammo based on some of my shooting buddies, but if you go with Lapua ammo (Center-x, Midas+, SK Match, etc...) you should be fine. Good luck with the new rifle and thanks for watching my friend!
@@tonypipTexas thanks for the quick response, it was a good video you shared some good info, it was difficult to install the trigger the holes were to tight I hope that’s my only issue with it.
@@tonypipTexas I shot my vudoo for the first time last weekend the smallest group was with Lapua center x . 26 , the biggest group was about 1” I am going to blame that one on me, I had four touching and one far away, today my best group was Lapua center x .126, I think the rifle has potential
Good video! Imagine that an issue in the mag well. I’ve been pointing people to that on MPA for over a year. The issue is more likely the size of the cutout above the mag release and filling some of that area would fix it too…..
Yeah, I understand that it's tough to build something that's going to fit EVERY chassis/stock, so I get that part of it. The filing of the magazine though, that just threw me for a loop. I was like "wait, what? You're telling me I have to fix THEIR magazine to feed properly?"
@@The4GunGuy yeah, not sure who told you to file the magazine. I’ve seen it mentioned but only just recently. I look passed those opinions I consider absurd and seek what the real issue is. MPA sells a little delrin piece that fits up into the top of the machined voice above the mag release and it’s around 1/4” thick and it sits flush against the face of the mag well. I installed one of the two pieces they send you in my MPA BA Comp and it fixed all my feeding issues pretty much 100%. I had nothing it feeding issues all day at the regional with my new rifle in the matrix so I dug up the other delrin insert I kept from the original kit and sure enough it fit the matrix so it’s in there now and I’ll be testing the end of the week to see how it does.
@@rwhipple73 The magazine filing is actually on the magazine feed ramp itself. On the plastic magazines they kept the lip there square, so in my first match I had horrible feeding issues. A "top 5" shooter heard that I was having an issue and told me that I had to file it down...If you see my first video on the Vudoo, I show the fix in detail. So two different issues.
@@The4GunGuy yeah, I’m really curious who that was honestly……that told you to file the “feed ramp”, I assume the follower angle? 🤔 Like I said I’ve heard some talk of that lately, but not before. Maybe it was a closely guarded hack, I mean secret. 😂. For me as an engineer and designer it’s always about root cause and the root cause isn’t the magazine. The root cause is something in the chassis and when I found that little insert from MPA for theirs I immediately ordered it and found it took out all the play of the magazine and fixed 99.9% of my feeding issues. I would honestly be interested in making one for other chassis to test out. Let me know if you’re game.
Hi Rich! I have no idea how the firing pin could cause the fliers. That is just what I was told by Devan at the testing center and what Vudoo had told him. Might have something to do with a light strike? or a heavy strike that "bumps" the cartridge as the round fires? It's fixed now though and running great! Thanks for watching!
Hi LEO! Glad to hear they're working well. Did you load into a bag to make sure it still feeds properly just to make sure? They'll probably loosen up over time if you don't mind the stiffness now...Or maybe your help them along by dry firing and practicing mag changes. Glad it's all working for you and thanks for watching my friend!
Hi Whipp ler! I had one feed issue at the last match where I had to change mags, but not sure it was due to the mag or perhaps my loading of the rounds in the mag…seemed like it was the later where you get the top round “behind” the next round and as you try to chamber the top round it brings that next one with it. But no issues with the mags themselves. Velcro is holding up well and I carry an extra small piece just in case.
Seems kind of winey these things are precision rifles, sometimes I think you're gonna have to tweak something a little bit a little bit to make sure it's as precise as you want it if not Then shoot an AR
Hi Tony D! It's not so much whining as just expecting that basic functionality is there when we spend so much money on these things. I totally understand that some tweaking is required (trust me, that's very relevant in centerfire rifles, when it's not only the rifle, but the cartridge and your individual loading technique). Thanks for watching my friend!

Is it really a problem with vudoo or with the chassie and the size of 22lr ammo
Theirs more issues than what you've mentioned. Doing a series on a V360 right now.
