Had a RS Lynx and it handled very well, almost no understeer. Driving to Bicol all the way to Sorsogon, you don't notice how fast you're going. Very well planted, especially with the Yokohama Advan tires. I missed driving it when we sold it, so when the Focus TDCI came along I had to get one. Though the Focus doesn't handle as well as the Lynx RS, the torque was addicting.
Ford Lynx cars are a breed of their own. Comparing it to its competitiors, you do get more value for money. The sunroof and the folding side mirrors made the Ford Lynx a class-leading sedan during its time. My '02 Ghia matic was my first car, and boy did I helluva love that car.
Great car without aa doubt! But as mentioned in the video, its the lack of performance aftermarket parts and enthusiasm that eventually led to its slow demise.
It's quite a shame that this didn't get as much attention as it should have. It would've also been nice if they brought in the MazdaSpeed Protege of this gen since they shared the same platform
It did garner the attention back in the day. Sadly, the attention was short-lived. While the car culture in PH is currently thriving, all quirky cars are making comebacks, even the Lancer GT. But the Ford Lynx RS is either MIA or sold for parts. SAD
Yung design language kasi ng Lynx ay more of executive young pro looking car unlike the japanese competitors. Anyway, pogi ng Lancer Cedia GT, naka lowered at mags lang panalo na! Hope to see a review of this and the Ford Focus.
i can see the regular car review influence on this haha i own the 1.6 manual variant in malaysia. Despite having dead suspension, the handling is still superior while owning an 16 sti haha!
In Thailand was sold as Laser Tierra. I have one but it's 2003 1.8 SV and yeah CBU from the Philippines. For me It's such a good car, good handling, low rev acceleration quite dull but after 2.5 RPM it will hit it torque range it move! And surprisingly long trip fuel consumption is also pretty good! 16 Km/L! Somehow better than my Vios. 😅
Thank you for sharing information about this car bro.I appreciate it! Because I love this Car The details are very Nice and Beautiful design symple but sporty. Please Make more videos about this Car to make this popular i wish Ford will continue this car will go back soon! This car also Theres only few were made in the world For me its Rare Condition Overall ratings
Meron padin poba parts for maintenance tong ford lynx rs? Yung underchassis niya ba or parts ng engine same sa base variant na ford lynx? Planning to buy kasi.
Ahahaha
I agree na buhay na buhay pa Ford Lynx RS/Tierra in other countries, including Malaysia, pero yung point ko sa video in particular is the PH Market. These days you'd barely see an RS on the road, once a month if you're lucky, and there may be a reason for that. Also the same reason why after market parts for the RS is extremely difficult to source unlike its Japanese counterparts.
uy! eto dapat ung 1st car ko kaso natakot ako gawa ng pyesa di pa ako maalam noon (kahit naman ngayon) so im ended up with lancer mx 2000 MT. pero im still eyeing to have this. great review! 6 to 8 km per liter di na masama sa 2.0 dohc to be honest.
Most local folk wouldn't touch any old Ford with a ten-foot pole from all of the (understandable to some extent) miasmic stigmas that've latched on to the marque over the years, which is a good thing. Just means there's more for me, once I can actually pony up the cash to find a decent example ofc
u guys are a bunch of whiners. the car is 20 yrs old. it was a nice car when it was new. i drive nio na lang and be happy it is still in mint condition. the seats? take them to a seat shop and get them reupholstered. mag drive kayo ng mga 70s na auto na walang power steering, walang aircon, stock stereo at vinyl seats para mag iyakan kayo ng todo. overall tho a very good review.
You seem to miss the point sir. Right beside the Ford Lynx RS was my Lancer GT 2.0, only released 2yrs after. My GT is much more abused with actual race track experience and such. The seats? For a sports-oriented car, it seemed nobody talked about how flimsy the side bolstering were, if you had a good comparison of good seats, you'd understand. It didnt need re-up, it needed better side bolstering and if you were to take this to the mountains or track, you'd definitely be flying all over the place LOL. Hindi kami ganun ka arte sa interior, but we'd like to point that out to the viewers what to expect, in fact, we just finished shooting a Space Gear Delica LHD converted, now thats gonna be interesting.
Hi, there is also in Thailand but called as "Laser Tierra RS" yet still with automatic. I've seen one on the sale (in red), and I can't get it out of my head, perhaps I'm going to buy it to my home.
What country's can you find these in. Ide love to import one. I love American cars that were styled in europ. Eve though they always are a nightmare to work on
Excellent review. I appreciate his commentary.

You really nailed it bruh. Your insights on this car is spot on. Sayang talaga tong Lynx. Promising naman sya on paper kaso para nag ignore nalang

Mine drinks up 9-10 km/litre bro. Got mine in 2005 and was pretty fast sir.
I think yan ang pinakaBagay na kulay para sa model n ganyan. Ano po color code nyan?
This Car was call FORD Tierra RS 2.0 in Taiwan .
Now you know what its also called here in the Philippines hehe
@@crustph i can still found the this car in Taiwan on very good condition.

Most parts are same sa base variant Lynx. But do note the Lynx RS runs on 4 wheel disc brakes and 5x114 stud pattern so there are slight differences
Mazda po yung parts niya.
Miss my car brother, thank you much. All you say is kinda true.
Hopefully, it's still running out there somewhere sir!

Lynx RS 2.0 over Lancer MX any day hahahaha
Honestly I wish nobody knows about this to keep the prices down. Right now it's at the perfect price range against civics or corollas

@@possibly8180 More and less for us, lynx didn't even get some huge aftermarket support like others do. But I guess it's the car that counts
The version in Taiwan has racing steering wheel came out the factory.
Here in PH it comes standard with leather-wrapped Nardi steering wheel (competitor of Momo)
Though I liked it I still preferred my older car a 1977 Ford Escort RS 2000 Zakspeed X package bro. It was a whole lot faster and a stunner.
More than you can afFORD man!
dis guy be hatin'

Appreciate the correction!

Southeast Asian countries sir. We have 'em here in the Philippines exclusively with a manual transmission.
In the US, it’s MAZDA PROTEGÉ
Also Mazda 323 in Europe
Ford Laser in Australia
@@FrancisLitanofficialJAPINOYis actually owned one. Idk how I mixed this up.
I'm also an owner of Ford Lynx 2005. GSI nga lang...
Kumusta naman po sir? Planning to buy the aame model
Lmao our very own fast Ford.
Kapalit nitong Ford Focus and Mazda 3
Sibak GT mo sa RS!
Not denying it.. The GT is tied down with a 4-speed automatic transmission while the Lynx RS is equipped with a 5-speed manual.
Masda speed n lng, hataw pa
