After all these years I found the mall the nightmare abandoned place gave me the creeps of how there was only 7 stores left and the food court super dark with only two restaurants left
This mall has been repurposed into a community college campus! It’s crazy to see how different it looked less than a decade ago. They did keep the escalators and stairs, though!
I never went on the side that was featured in the video during the time it was a mall, but always during my ACC days, they were great and all but I could never get over the change from mall to school.
This mall was my childhood. I will forever miss those times.
The reason why I came to this video
I'm with you. I miss JW and the Gold Mine arcade... ESPECIALLY SANTIAGO'S!!!!

People quit going there because of the youths.

That part of acc, still seems lost in time it’s lonely apart from the store and art .
Somebody stole my dad’s welding truck from Highland Mall in the 1980s. Prior to that only good memories. Sad to see it came to this.
i was about 10 when this mall closed down so i don’t remember much but i would always walk inside the fountain since no one would see me lmao
If someone made a petition earlier, the mall would've stayed open
its now apart of Austin community college and it looks beautiful now
this was right before austin changed for the worse. the last days of the greater austin
this mall was very dated looking. it had cool stores when i was a kid though but at death the mall smelled weird and had practically nothing.
you cant have a property ponzi scheme AND retail shopping.....
